Sophie Turner is Ripped for Her Tomb Raider Prep
Sophie Turner may be best known for the role of Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones , and after her run as Jean Grey for X-Men , it looks like she's ready to jump into another franchise with Tomb Raider .
Though we don't have an official look at the show yet, Turner has revealed just how jacked she's getting in her preparation for the role of Lara Croft. Check her out:

There have admittedly been rumors that the Tomb Raider series had been cancelled ever since it was announced back in November, but things look to be moving forward as Amazon had just renewed their deal with the producers over at Story Kitchen.
It's also worth noting that the series is created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who is best known for her work in Fleabag .
Admittedly, the Tomb Raider franchise has been having a hard time trying to stay relevant in live-action. The Angelina Jolie films just fizzled out, and nothing came out of the Alicia Vikander reboot. There was an animated series that came out on Netflix last year, but it didn't manage to get the hype it was hoping for.
With successful adaptations like Fallout and The Last of Us , maybe Tomb Raider has a better chance at being a series. Though I wouldn't expect as much spectacle with a TV-format, I do think that Waller-Bridge is a great writer, and we can have an interesting characterization of Lara Croft besides the action hero we've all come to know.
No release date has been set for the Tomb Raider series on Amazon.

Should Thunderbolts* Director Jake Schreier be the Choice to Helm the X-Men Reboot?
It was reported back in May that Thunderbolts* helmer Jake Schreier was in talks to direct the next X-Men reboot for Marvel Studios, and we haven't gotten any significant update since then. Variety is confirming once again that Schreier has been tapped to helm, but is he the right choice for the new X-Men ? With there being heavy emphasis on the X-Men being a team, I'm sure that there are a lot of fans saying that Schreier would be a great pick because he was able to make the Thunderbolts/New Avengers feel like a team, and that justifies him being a great choice. If anything, I still loved his work with projects like Beef and Skeleton Crew. But when it comes to a property like X-Men , it does feel like Marvel should probably give the chance to a director who has a more personal connection to the property's themes of discrimination or the minority experience. Say what you will about Bryan Singer, but he definitely understood the assignment when it came to the Fox X-Men movies embracing its LGBTQ+ themes. The scene in X2 where Iceman reveals his powers to his family mirrors a 'Coming Out' dialogue; even the mom going so far to ask Bobby if he's tried 'not being a mutant' felt like it was really pushing the metaphor home: Even X-Men '97 , the latest critically acclaimed X-Men property, is considered hit very hard emotionally because the now ex-showrunner Beau DeMayo was openly gay and wanted to make sure the series reflected his authentic experience as a minority. Admittedly, I don't think your sexuality alone should determine whether you get to work on a project, but with X-Men being such a huge brand, you would think that Marvel would consider it; even if they get a queer person to be attached as a writer or producer. Personally, think Leslye Headland ( The Acolyte, Russian Doll ) would be a great fit. Based on her Star Wars work, she already knows how to pull off action scenes. Or, if they're interested, maybe the Wachowskis would want to take a stab at it. I know the last Matrix movie was divisive, but they still do very great work cinematically, and maybe they'll have something interesting to say with a property like X-Men . I mean, Schreier is still a solid pick, but I guess Pride Month really got me thinking about the next iteration of X-Men and how it's going to be made. No release date has been set for Marvel's X-Men reboot, but it will probably come out way after 2027.

Green Lantern Aaron Pierre Allegedly Being Eyed for James Bond
The search for the next James Bond continues, and while he already has a new face in the upcoming game, a rumor is going around about the next big screen Bond—and he's someone expected to blow up in the DC space very soon. According to insider Daniel RPK (via @TheOscarRace) Aaron Pierre ( Lanterns, Rebel Ridge ) is currently being considered for the role of 007. Of course, nothing official has been said about the matter, but Pierre has already proven that he can do some intense action sequences; in fact, it was speculated that it was his role in Rebel Ridge that got him the Green Lantern job. The way the internet works these days, it's very possible that the casting of Pierre could be met with intense backlash from the anti-woke crowd, but based on his work, I think he would make for a fantastic Bond. Admittedly, I prefer my 007 to be on the more lighthearted side, and it's still not clear if Pierre will be able to deliver that, seeing that a lot of his roles have been pretty serious. Then again, he was able to pull off a ridiculous character named 'Mid-Sized Sedan' in an M. Night Shyamalan movie, so maybe James Bond won't be so much of a stretch. As a character that's constantly being poked fun at today for not surviving cancel culture, MGM has a huge hurdle to get through if they want to keep 007 relevant for newer audiences. Maybe Pierre is the key, but we'll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, Pierre is expected to star in Lanterns which hits HBO Max sometime in 2026.

Marvel Rivals: Wolverine's New Skin has Sparked a Debate on the Game Being Sexist
Ever since Marvel Rivals came out, the game has been branded as 'gooner bait' for the sexualization of several characters; but on the flip side, some fans argue that both men and women are equally sexualized in the game, so it's all fair. However, the recent release of Wolverine's Weapon X skin seems to have proven that men get more of a pass when it comes to being objectified. First, let's check out the reveal: 🆕 Wolverine: Weapon X Coming to the #MarvelRivals in-game store on Thursday at 10 PM EDT. — Miller Ross (@mmmmmmmmiller) June 2, 2025 Immediately, a lot of fans are outraged that the skin would have Wolverine wearing long shorts. Anyone who knows their X-Men history knows that this look often has Wolverine in trunks or completely naked. Even the Fox movies knew they had to show as much skin as they could: Admittedly, they did give Weapon X shorts in X-Men: Apocalypse , but everyone agrees that was a bad movie. Already the reveal of the Weapon X skin is getting spammed with complaints about Logan wearing pants and not being fully naked. I mean, I get why they can't make him naked, but they could have at least settled with trunks. Invisible Woman and Emma Frost have skins that are as revealing as they can get. Meanwhile this is the Weapon X in other media… Rivals truly isn't beating the misogynist/Gooner allegations with this one… — Kendra Targaryen (@UncannyKendra) June 2, 2025 Seeing how conservative NetEase is (when it comes to men), it's possible that they wouldn't be 'fixing' this anytime soon. Either way, it does seem like some fans are pleased with the look, and that's all you really need. Marvel Rivals is now available for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The Weapon X skin comes to the store on June 6.
