Samsung exec hints the S Pen will make a comeback to foldables, someday

GSM Arena17-07-2025
With the Galaxy Z Fold7's thin and light profile, Samsung had to make some sacrifices. One of the more notable omissions is the lack of S Pen support as Samsung ditched the folding screen's digitizer layer. This, however, doesn't mean that Samsung will give up the S Pen on future foldables.
Samsung MX (Mobile eXperience) Managing Director - Kang Min-seok spoke to Korean outlet ET News and confirmed that consumers wanted a thin and light product and that trade-offs had to be made. While the Z Fold7 does not feature S Pen support, Samsung is not giving up on adding stylus support for future Galaxy foldables, but it's a case of 'the technology just isn't there yet'.
We are also researching and developing thinner and innovative technologies for the S Pen, so we will reconsider it when the level of perfection increases and there is consumer demand.' - Kang Min-seok, Samsung MX Managing Director
The decision to remove S Pen support, alongside the lack of improvements to battery capacity and charging speed, may not sit well with consumers right now, but Kang argues that these decisions were made in relation to consumer demand for a thin and light device.
He also mentions that Samsung is aiming to 'pursue a perfect product balance, not just thinness and lightness', so we'll hopefully see future Z Fold devices with larger batteries, faster charging and S Pen support. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7

Here's when the Oppo K13 Turbo series will launch in India

Oppo launched the K13 Turbo series smartphones in China last week, and it has been teasing these phones in India for the past few days. Oppo hasn't revealed when it will launch the K13 Turbo series in India, but we've learned from a reliable source that the lineup will debut in India in the week of August 11. To be more precise, between August 11 and August 14. Oppo's K13 Turbo series includes two phones - the Oppo K13 Turbo and the Oppo K13 Turbo Pro. Both have similar designs and specs, with the most significant difference being the chipset. The K13 Turbo is powered by the Dimensity 8450 SoC, while the K13 Turbo Pro has the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip at the helm. Oppo K13 Turbo • Oppo K13 Turbo Pro One of the biggest highlights of these phones is the built-in cooling fan, advertised to help the devices run 2–4°C cooler under high-load conditions. Oppo's Indian branch said this fan module will be IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9-rated, and the smartphones will have 7,000 mAh batteries under the hood. We are yet to get an official confirmation on whether or not the Oppo K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro's Indian models will share the design and specs with their Chinese counterparts, but while we await a word on that, you can read our Oppo K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro's China announcement coverage here for more details about the handsets. Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite gets closer to launch

Vlad, 31 July 2025 Samsung is working on three new tablets at the moment - the high-end Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra, as well as the more affordable Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. This has now been spotted in the Bluetooth SIG's database, having received the necessary certification for sale from that organization. This is a normal step on the way to launch, and it signifies that the Tab S10 Lite could be getting official soon. In fact, Samsung's been rumored to unveil it as early as next month. The tablet will be powered by the Exynos 1380 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM. It will support the S Pen and a keyboard, and is expected to sport an 8,000 mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging. It will probably run Android 15 when it launches, with One UI 7 on top. Via

Samsung Galaxy S26's replacement seemingly confirmed

Yesterday we heard that Samsung might be revamping its flagship naming next year, with the 'vanilla' Galaxy S26 model not launching, replaced instead with a Galaxy S26 Pro (on top of the rumors claiming the S26 Edge would replace the S26+). Today, the Galaxy S26 Pro replacing the S26 theory has picked up even more steam, as a device with the name Galaxy S26 Pro has been caught in the GSM Association's IMEI database. It has the model number SM-S942U1, and SM-S942 has so far been associated with the Galaxy S26. Only now it seems that will be no more, as Samsung has in the meantime changed its mind about the name (there's also an IMEI entry under the Galaxy S26 name for a similar model number, but that's older). What remains the biggest mystery is whether this Galaxy S26 Pro will be just an S26 under a different name, or if it will get some spec upgrades to warrant that Pro name. There have also been mumblings about a price hike compared to the Galaxy S25, which wouldn't surprise us. We'll let you know when we find out more. Samsung Galaxy S25 Via
