Inter Milan are planning out their future in midfield. And the Nerazzurri's plans hinge completely on the future of Hakan Calhanoglu.
It is no secret that Galatasaray want to sign the 31-year-old. Inter, for their part, will hold out for a fee of around €40 million.
And if Calhanoglu goes, then Inter will certainly do everything to replace the Turkish international.

According to the Gazzetta, Lazio's Nicolo Rovella would be Inter's top target in the event that Hakan Calhanoglu is to head for the exit door.
The 23-year-old is somewhere between a like-for-like replacement for Calhanoglu, and a profile that Inter don't already have in their midfield.

Rovella has a €50 million release clause in his contract with Lazio. That means that he wouldn't come cheap – but a deal for him would be relatively straightforward to wrap up.
Meanwhile, Parma midfielder Adrian Bernabe is also on Inter's radar. Particularly after Cristian Chivu's arrival as coach.
The Gazzetta report that Bernabe could be part of the succession plan for Calhanoglu. However, the 24-year-old could also be a target even if the Turk stays.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, FCInterNews report that Galatasaray Vice-President Ibrahim Hatipoglu is pushing for a move for Calhanoglu – as well as Manchester City's Ilkay Gundogan. Advertisement On the other hand, another Galatasaray Vice-President, Abdullah Kavukcu, has already moved onto other targets. Kavukcu feels that a move for Calhanoglu is not realistic. Therefore, he isn't focusing efforts on trying to sign the former AC Milan midfielder. In the end, everything could very well come down to the decision of Galatasaray President Dursun Ozbek. Ozbek could keep pushing to try and make the transfer happen. Or, he could decide that it is out of reach and look to sign other midfielders instead.
