Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith reveals loudest Big Ten stadium he's played in
The Big Ten is full of iconic stadiums. The conference boasts the three largest college football venues in the country, with Michigan Stadium (Michigan), Beaver Stadium (Penn State), and Ohio Stadium (Ohio State) all welcoming over 100,000 fans during home games. Needless to say, that many people packed into one place can result in some pretty loud crowds. In fact, Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola praised the 'Shoe as easiest the loudest stadium he played in last year.
But what if the shoe (pardon the pun) were on the other foot? Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith was asked about playing in Autzen Stadium last year, and he was quick to compliment the environment in Eugene when the Buckeyes lost a close one to the Oregon Ducks.
"It was rockin'. Probably the loudest stadium I've ever been in," Smith told reporters. "Their fans were definitely getting hype, crowd was -- couldn't hear anything, stuff like that, but probably the best stadium I've been in last year."
Smith was then asked about a potential budding rivalry with Oregon with the teams playing twice last year, and with where the trajectory of both are heading.
"Kind of -- a little bit. That's how I think it's going," continued Smith. "The way things are going, it's kind of like Ohio State-Oregon is starting to be like a little rivalry, I guess."
Obviously, Smith didn't mean to slight Ohio Stadium being that he plays there and it can get loud too, but when you go on the road, the noise factor when on offense can make a huge difference. I can vouge from personal experience that Autzen Stadium was indeed the loudest I've ever heard a stadium. It was a great environment and venue, and hopefully, the brass at Ohio State took note and try to do some things to make the environment in the Horseshoe even better.

Spartan Stadium gets minor upgrades, updates ahead of upcoming 2025 season
It appears the updates to Spartan Stadium are going to be wrapped up just in time for opening kickoff later this month. Spartan Stadium has gone through a facelift this offseason, with some minimal but notable updates to the home of Michigan State football. The official Michigan State University social media account posted a few pictures of the updates being made to Spartan Stadium this offseason, with the notable items being related to the scoreboards and east side of the stadium. In the post below, you'll see that the Spartan helmet logo has been updated on the two scoreboards on the south side of Spartan Stadium. Additionally, one notable fan account -- OdellBretthamJr -- pointed out that the east side of the stadium (the worst looking spot of the stadium) has been painted to make it look better. Check out the pictures of the new look Spartan Stadium below: As I mentioned off the top, these are minor updates but certainly nice touches. Especially the east side that got a new paint job. Michigan State will open its doors to Spartan Stadium for the first time this season on August 29 in the season-opener against Western Michigan. We're Working in the Shadows' Published Aug. 5, 2025 10:58 a.m. ET share facebook x reddit link Following a Week 1 win in the 2022 NFL season, then-Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith responded to a question about being "written off" by saying that he didn't "write back." Smith has now delivered another banger of a one-liner about his new team, that being the Las Vegas Raiders. "I believe that the game gets settled between the white lines on game day. From my vantage point, we got a really, really good team. I don't know if we'll shock anyone inside of this building, but maybe shock some outsiders. But it's good. Let 'em sleep. I don't want them to see us coming. We're just working in the shadows right now, getting our game right and when it's time to go under those bright lights, I think we'll be ready," Smith said in an appearance on NFL Network on Monday. Smith was an essential element to a pivotal offseason for the Raiders, which also saw them hire a new general manager in John Spytek and a new head coach in former Seahawks coach Pete Carroll. Later acquiring Smith from Seattle for a third-round draft pick, Las Vegas reunited Carroll with his former quarterback. Smith and the Raiders later agreed to a two-year, $75 million extension. Last season (2024), Smith totaled 4,320 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns, 15 interceptions and a 93.2 passer rating, while completing 70.4% of his passes. He also rushed for 272 yards and two touchdowns. Smith ranked 12th among quarterbacks with an 83.1 overall grade, according to Pro Football Focus. ADVERTISEMENT Across his three years as Seattle's starting quarterback (2022-24), Smith averaged 4,075.3 passing yards, 23.7 passing touchdowns, 11.7 interceptions and a 95.5 passer rating per season, while completing 68.5% of his passes. He was a Pro Bowler in each of the first two seasons, with Carroll and the Seahawks parting ways after the 2023 season. Smith had previously backed up Russell Wilson from 2019-21, which was preceded by a four-year stint with the New York Jets (2013-16) and one-year stints with the New York Giants (2017) and Los Angeles Chargers (2018). As for the perceived doubt surrounding the Raiders' 2025 prospects, their division (AFC West) includes three teams that made the playoffs last season; the Kansas City Chiefs have won three of the past six Super Bowls and won the AFC in five of the past six seasons, including in 2024, while the Chargers and Denver Broncos each won double-digit games and earned a wild-card berth last season. The Raiders finished 4-13. As for the rest of the Raiders' offseason, they selected Boise State running back and 2024 Heisman Trophy runner-up Ashton Jeanty with the No. 6 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, while adding safety Jeremy Chinn, defensive end Malcolm Koonce, linebacker Elandon Roberts and running back Raheem Mostert, among other signings. You can add yet another Name, Image and Likeness deal for Notre Dame star running back Jeremiyah Love, as he will now partner with New Balance, according to their press release they shared with Fighting Irish Wire. He is their latest star they have signed recently joining former Ohio State stars Marvin Harrison Jr., and Chase Young. Not only that, they have stars like tennis' Coco Gauff, baseball's Shohei Ohtani, and basketball players like Kawhi Leonard, Cooper Flagg and Cameron Brink. It's an elite group of athletes that Love will be joining, as the release stated they were interested in Love due to his 'rare combination of athleticism, intelligence, and heart to everything he does,' said Naveen Lokesh, Head of Global Sports Marketing for American Football and Basketball.
