Trump threatens to revoke US citizenship of longtime critic Rosie O'Donnell
Trump and O'Donnell have long been in conflict, with their feud dating back to a 2006 episode of 'The View,' which O'Donnell hosted at the time, in which the actor criticized Trump's 'moral compass,' prompting him to later lash out and call O'Donnell a 'woman out of control.'
The rift between the two only grew when Trump entered the political arena. When asked by moderator Megyn Kelly at a 2015 Republican primary debate about his use of language like 'fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals' to describe women, Trump responded: 'only Rosie O'Donnell.'
Their animosity continued through Trump's first term in the White House, with O'Donnell saying at the time she worried about her ability to 'live through' his presidency.
And when Trump was elected a second time last year, O'Donnell decided to leave the country.
In a highly public departure, the actor announced that she and her 12-year-old child had moved to Ireland in mid-January.
'When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that's when we will consider coming back,' O'Donnell said in a March TikTok post. 'It's been heartbreaking to see what's been happening politically,' the actor said, adding that she was going through the process of obtaining her Irish citizenship through her grandparents.
But O'Donnell hasn't remained silent on U.S. politics despite her move, taking to social media last week to blame Trump for the deadly flash floods in Texas.
'When the president guts all of the early warning systems and the weathering forecast abilities of the government, these are the results that we're going to start to see on a daily basis,' O'Donnell said in a post to TikTok.

All Mexican passenger, cargo and charter airlines will now be required to submit their schedules to the Transportation Department and seek government approval of their flights until Duffy is satisfied with the way Mexico is treating U.S. airlines. It's not immediately clear how Duffy's actions might affect the broader trade war with Mexico and negotiations over tariffs. A spokesperson for Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum didn't reply immediately to a request for comment. Sheinbaum didn't mention the new restrictions during either of her two speaking events on Saturday. Delta and Aeromexico have been fighting the Transportation Department's efforts to end their partnership that began in 2016 since early last year. The airlines have argued that it's not fair to punish them for the Mexican government's actions, and they said ending their agreement would jeopardize nearly two dozen routes and $800 million in benefits to both countries' economies that come from tourism spending and jobs. 'The U.S. Department of Transportation's tentative proposal to terminate its approval of the strategic and pro-competitive partnership between Delta and Aeromexico would cause significant harm to consumers traveling between the U.S. and Mexico, as well as U.S. jobs, communities, and transborder competition," Delta said in a statement. Aeromexico's press office said it was reviewing the order and intended to present a joint response with Delta in the coming days. But the order terminating approval of the agreement between the airlines wouldn't take effect until October, and the airlines are likely to continue fighting that decision. The airlines said in a previous filing fighting the order that it believes the loss of direct flights would prompt over 140,000 American tourists and nearly 90,000 Mexican tourists not to visit the other country and hurt the economies of both countries with the loss of their spending. ___

Execution date set for man who abducted woman from insurance office, killed her
A man who abducted a woman from a Florida insurance office and killed her is scheduled for execution in Florida under a death warrant signed by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. Kayle Bates is set to die Aug. 19 in the 10th execution scheduled for this year. DeSantis signed the warrant Friday, just three days after the state executed Michael Bell for fatally shooting two people outside a Florida bar in 1993 as part of an attempted revenge killing. Bell was the 26th person to die by court-ordered execution so far this year in the U.S., exceeding the 25 executions carried out last year. It is the highest total since 2015, when 28 people were put to death. Bates, now 67, was convicted of first-degree murder, kidnapping, armed robbery and attempted sexual battery in the June 14, 1982, Bay County killing of Janet White. Bates abducted White from the State Farm insurance office where she worked, took her into some woods behind the building, attempted to rape her, stabbed her to death, and tore a diamond ring from one of her fingers, according to a letter from Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier summarizing the history of the case. Bates' attorney, James Driscoll Jr., said in a phone call Saturday that he would be filing further appeals in the case. 'We believe his execution would violate the U.S. constitution,' he said.
