Star Indian player in Legal trouble after an agency sues him of 5 Crore for...., his name is....
New Delhi: India and Sunrisers Hyderabad's young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is embroiled in a legal dispute. His former player management agency Square The One has filed a petition against him for dues of more than ₹5 crore. The matter will be heard in the Delhi High Court on July 28. The relationship broke during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy
According to sources, the relationship between Nitish and his former agency deteriorated during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. After this, Nitish signed an agreement with the manager of another Indian player involved in the tour. The agency has alleged that Nitish violated the management agreement and did not pay the agreed amount. Legal process and demand
Square The One Private Limited has filed a petition under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act. It seeks the appointment of an independent arbitrator who can decide on the breach of contract and outstanding payment. The agency says that they have been representing Nitish since 2021 and have arranged several brand deals and commercial partnerships for him. Nitish's side and recent performance
According to sources, Nitish has denied any payment and claimed that he had done the brand deals himself. At the same time, Nitish's performance has been weak since his brilliant debut in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. After playing with an injury in IPL 2025, his injury became serious before the series against England, and he was ruled out of the entire season.

754 and out – Shubman Gill ends stunning series 20 runs short of Sunil Gavaskar's record

Shubman Gill may have scored just 11 runs in the second innings of the fifth Test, after scoring 21 in the first, which may not be noteworthy numbers but they have brought to an end a stunning series with the bat. Gill has ended the series with a tally of 754 runs, which is the second highest tally of all time for an Indian in any Test series, only behind Sunil Gavaskar's 774 against the mighty West Indies in a five-Test series in 1971. Gavaskar had played only four matches in that series, having made his debut only in the second Test. Gill, meanwhile, has achieved this feat on his debut as India's Test captain. He is also just the third Indian to score more than 700 runs in a single series after Gavaskar and his teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had scored 712 runs in a five-Test series at home against England in 2023/24. Gill's tally is also the second highest for a captain in any Test series, only 56 runs behind the record of 810 held by the legendary Don Bradman, who had scored that against England at home in the 1936/37 Ashes. Conversely, it is the highest score by any Indian captain in a Test series by a margin of of 22 runs – Gavaskar held the record previous for the 732 he scored in the six-Test series against the West Indies in 1978/79. Gill fell in the first innings of the first Test after going for a single that was never there. In the second innings, Gill fell off the very first ball of the second session, being trapped in front of his stumps by an inswinger from Gus Atkinson. The only Tests in which Gill failed to score centuries in this series were both in London – the third Test at Lord's and the fifth Test at the Oval. Gill started the series by scoring a century on his captaincy debut. He scored 147 in his very first innings as the skipper, followed by a score of eight in the second innings. Gill then made merry in the second Test, scoring a record 269 in the first innings and 161 in the second as he powered India to a 336-run win at Edgbaston. He then could only manage scores of 16 and six in the third Test and 12 in the first innings of the fourth before grinding out 103 runs off 238 balls as part of a match-saving effort with KL Rahul. Rahul and Gill batted out nearly 70 overs after which unbeaten centuries by Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar helped India draw the match. This was followed by the 21 and 11 he scored at the Oval.

Whistleblower in castration case against Ram Rahim allowed to depose via video from US

A special CBI court in Panchkula has allowed the cross-examination of a key witness in the alleged forcible castration case against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to be conducted via video conferencing, observing that travel from the United States would cause 'extreme inconvenience' and involve 'huge expenses'. The witness, who is also the complainant and a whistleblower in the case, is currently residing in the US. He had moved an application citing security concerns and logistical challenges in appearing physically. His request was opposed by the accused, who argued that the application was not maintainable and could prejudice his right to a fair trial. However, Special Judicial Magistrate Anil Kumar Yadav, in an order passed Friday, said, 'The present application… for permitting him to get his testimony recorded through Video Conferencing… deserves to be allowed… on the ground of long distance of more than 13,000 kms, on the ground of huge travelling expenses… and extreme inconvenience' The complainant has alleged that he was among 400 sadhus who were forcibly castrated by Ram Rahim with the help of doctors 'in the name of realization of God'. His petition to the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 2012 had led to a CBI probe and subsequent charges against Ram Rahim and two others. The court rejected the defence's contention that the application should have been moved by the prosecution, stating: 'Even the witness does have right to move such application… in view of the case laws relied upon.' The defence had also accused the witness of using the application as a means to secure asylum in the US and argued that he had earlier deposed without raising safety concerns. The court dismissed this as 'not tenable', noting, 'Whether (the applicant) is eligible for asylum or not in USA is a matter to be decided by the US authorities.' Noting that 'courts should adopt a pragmatic approach to facilitate dispensation of justice', the court observed, 'In all cases relied upon… there has been consistent view… that… the facility of Video Conferencing should be allowed… not even a single case… has been denied… by Hon'ble Punjab & Haryana High Court or… Supreme Court of India.' To facilitate the cross-examination, the court directed the CBI's investigating officer to coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Consulate in the US 'to ensure availability of a secure place' for deposition. The court also asked the CBI to provide a document visualizer and equipment to preserve the audio-visual testimony. The court clarified that the defence will have to submit documents to be used during cross-examination one day in advance and prepare their questionnaires beforehand, in line with the procedure laid down by the High Court in Parminder Singh vs Sukhminder Singh. 'Inconvenience caused to the defence counsel in putting the documents… pales in comparison to the inconvenience caused to the witness in coming from USA… incurring huge traveling expenses,' the court said. The next date of hearing will be fixed after coordination with the Indian Consulate, the order said.

Akash Deep Slams Maiden Test Fifty To Script History, Joins Shane Warne In Elite List For Rare Test Record

Akash Deep frustrated England with the bat and scripted history after scoring his maiden Test half-century on Day 3 of the fifth Test of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at The Oval on Saturday. Sent in as a nightwatchman late on day two, Akash Deep resumed his innings at the score of 4 on day three and played an extraordinary knock in the first session, scoring 66 off 94 balls with the help of 12 boundaries. He was eventually dismissed by Jamie Overton towards the end of the first session with a short ball. Akash Deep's 66 is the second-highest score by an Indian nightwatchman in Test cricket. Notably, the highest score by an Indian nightwatchman is Amit Mishra's 84 against England, which the leg-spinner hit at the same venue in 2011. Highest Scores By Indian Nightwatchmen In Test Cricket 84 - Amit Mishra vs England, Oval, 2011 66 - Akash Deep vs England, Oval, 2025 54 - Chetan Sharma vs Australia, Adelaide, 1985 50 - Amit Mishra vs Bangladesh - Chattogram, 2010 After his fantastic half-century, Akash Deep joined legendary Shane Warne in an elite list. The 28-year-old became only the second man after Shane Warne this century to score a fifty and take a 10-wicket haul in England as an opposition player. Former Australia spinner Warne achieved this rare feat in 2005. Interestingly, there are only five instances of an Asian player achieving this double in a SENA country. Asian Players To Score 50 And Take 10-Wicket Haul In A SENA Series Akash Deep, IND tour of ENG, 2025 Chaminda Vaas, SL tour of NZ, 1994/95 Wasim Akram, PAK tour of AUS, 1989/90 Imran Khan, PAK tour of ENG, 1987 Intikhab Alam, PAK tour of ENG, 1972/73 After his impressive batting, Akash Deep has a golden opportunity to make a noticeable impact with the ball during England's second innings of the ongoing fifth Test at Lord's.
