Georgia player's backwards shorts perfectly summed up the Bulldogs' March woes

Yahoo20-03-2025
Georgia entered the first round of the men's NCAA tournament with high hopes, and hoo boy were those extinguished quickly. It was 27-3 Gonzaga before anyone could blink as Gonzaga eventually cruised to a comfortable 89-68 win.
We probably should've seen this sort of uncompetitive blowout coming based on the fashion gaffe of one of Georgia's players, Dakota Leffew. In the middle of the second half, announcer Deb Antonelli realized that Leffew was wearing his shorts backwards. She related the faux pas to how everything conveniently felt backwards for Georgia with its actual play.
Honestly, this was really good symbolism for a bummer of a day for Georgia:

ESPN's Mina Kimes on why Falcons fans are the best in the NFL

The Atlanta Falcons have one of the most interesting fan bases in the entire NFL. Of the 12 teams that have never won a Super Bowl, the Falcons have gotten by far the closest. Atlanta could practically taste the champagne with a 28-3 lead over the Patriots back in Super Bowl 51. We all know how that game ended, and it's something fans will never fully get over. However, one NFL expert believes those scars are what make Falcons fans the best in the entire league. ESPN analyst Mina Kimes explained why she ranked Atlanta as her No. 1 NFL fan base. Advertisement "The Atlanta Falcons are the best fan base in the entire NFL," said Kimes. "They have been through the most. Nobody has been through 28-3. They by far have the weirdest team. They endure all of this constant ongoing humiliation with equanimity, poise, resilience. They also have the perfect blend of nihilism with a tiny bit of hope, that I find unbelievably charming." Kimes praised the fans for their lack of delusion when it comes to the team, citing the recent trade for edge rusher James Pearce as an example. "Most of them understand that the James Pearce trade in the draft -- the criticism is warranted," said Kimes. "But they also are allowing themselves to get excited and hopeful that one of these pass rushers that they drafted will work out." Advertisement Falcons fans have never been known for their optimism, which is somewhat rare in a league where people tend to view their favorite teams with rose-colored glasses. In 2025, Atlanta will attempt to return to the playoffs for the first time since the 2017 season. The NFL released the full 2025 regular season schedule on Wednesday. Michigan football gains ground on 4-star DT Deuce Geralds, who sets Aug. 2 commitment date

Michigan football recruiting was on an absolute tear in the month of June and the start of July, but now, many of the remaining top targets are slowing things down as they decide if they want to play in Ann Arbor or elsewhere. One of the prospects that the Wolverines hosted for an official visit was 2026 Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill four-star defensive tackle Deuce Geralds, who took a midweek visit just before Victors Weekend. It had appeared as if the maize and blue weren't in the best position for Geralds, but after his trip to Ann Arbor, Michigan appears to have surged. But will it be enough? Geralds teased a big announcement on Wednesday and it turned out it was his commitment date (and not a commitment). With five schools in contention, Geralds will announce his school of choice on August 2. While Ohio State, LSU, and Ole Miss all made the cut, this appears to be a Michigan vs. Oregon battle. Given that he's not deciding today, that's perhaps good news for Lou Esposito and the Wolverines, as the Ducks probably have a slight lead at the moment. Michigan does have something of a logjam along the defensive line at the moment, with two defensive tackles (four-stars Alister Vallejo and Titan Davis) and four edge rushers (five-star Carter Meadows, four-stars McHale Blade and Julian Walker, and three-star Tariq Boney) all pledged. Geralds is rated the No. 73 player in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. This article originally appeared on Wolverines Wire: Michigan target Deuce Geralds sets commitment date

Rivals/On3 Insider provides two key updates on Texas A&M's priority 5-star prospects

Texas A&M's recruiting success last month was borderline historic, as the school landed three five-star prospects in the 2026 cycle, culminating in Saturday's critical commitment from five-star edge rusher Bryce Perry-Wright, out of Buford, Georgia. Coach Elko and his staff have developed strong relationships with all 24 commits, and momentum could continue this week with the top-ranked defensive lineman in the class set to make his announcement. On Thursday, 2026 five-star DL Lamar Brown, the crown jewel of the 2026 cycle in the trenches, is expected to choose between the LSU Tigers or Texas A&M on Thursday, July 10. Right now, the Louisiana native, who has spent his entire football career in the backyard of Death Valley up to this point, is slightly leaning towards staying home. On Monday, Rivals recruiting insider Steve Wiltfong provided an update regarding where the Aggies stand with Brown during his appearance on Josh Newberg's Rivals show, stating that while he still believes LSU has the edge, Brown's nearly double-digit visits to College Station, combined with his belief in the program, still stand out. "They might be the program in on the move five-stars down the stretch" Wiltfong stated. "They have as good a chance as anyone to finish No. 1, and that starts with Lamar Brown. Maybe LSU has the edge, but there's been times where A&M has been the favorite. He's visited there seven times. Coach (Tony) Jerod-Eddie, Coach (Sean) Spencer, again, Coach (Mike) Elko, the scheme, how comfortable he is around the program, NIL opportunities; don't sleep on Texas A&M for Lamar Brown." While this take on Brown is similar to AggieYell insider Landyn Rosow's recent update that LSU and Texas A&M are "50-50" leading up to his announcement, Wiltfong also included a key update on the No. 1-ranked wide receiver in the 2026 class, five-star LSU commit Tristan Keys regarding Tennessee and Texas A&M's potential to flip the elite route runner. "There's buzz that's starting to rise where Texas A&M and Tennessee may be better positioned long-term. Now Miami is going to be swinging Tristen Keys as well, and LSU is doing everything they can to keep him in the fold. But the Aggies and the Vols are certainly doing a good job." For the Aggies to land both elite prospects ahead of Early Signing Day on December 4, it will take a strong effort from the coaching staff, and likely an in-season visit even if Lamar Brown commits to Texas A&M on Thursday.
