Seranthony Domínguez traded from the Baltimore Orioles to the Toronto Blue Jays in between their doubleheader
The Orioles traded the reliever to the Blue Jays between games.
'After the first game, I was in there with the guys, and they call me and they tell me, 'Hey we got you traded. Go to the next dugout,'' Domínguez said.
Domínguez did not pitch in the opener, which the Orioles won 16-4. Then the trade — Domínguez for minor league right-hander Juaron Watts-Brown — was announced about an hour before the scheduled first pitch of the nightcap.
Domínguez threw a scoreless seventh inning for Toronto, but Baltimore ultimately prevailed 3-2.
'He's been around, for one. He's got really, really good stuff,' Blue Jays manager John Schneider said. 'He can miss bats, great fastball, great splitter.'
Domínguez is 2-3 with a 3.16 ERA in 44 relief appearances this season. The last-place Orioles have also traded away relievers Bryan Baker and Gregory Soto as part of what has been a mild sell-off so far.
The AL East-leading Blue Jays have a bullpen ERA of 3.94, which ranks in the middle of the pack. Domínguez, who was in his sixth season with the Philadelphia Phillies when the right-hander was traded to Baltimore around this time last year, can help.
The 23-year-old Watts-Brown was ranked as Toronto's No. 10 prospect by MLB Pipeline. He's 2-5 with a 3.54 ERA in 19 starts at Class A and Double-A this year.
The Double-A affiliates for the Blue Jays and Orioles — New Hampshire and Chesapeake — were also playing each other Tuesday night, making this a convenient move for Watts-Brown, too.
The Blue Jays designated veteran right-hander Chad Green for assignment.
'Had to have a terrible conversation with Chad Green, who's been so good not only for us but for his entire major league career,' Schneider said. 'First and foremost, wish him the best. He's the definition of a professional.'

LSU football has best defensive line recruiting class in college football
LSU football picked up a commitment from four-star defensive tackle Deuce Geralds on Saturday. For LSU, it marked the 18th commitment of the 2026 recruiting class. Four of those 18 are prized defensive line recruits. Two more are blue-chip edge defenders. This is the best defensive line crop in college football. There were questions about LSU's defensive line recruiting after DL coach Bo Davis left for the NFL and was replaced by former LSU defensive tackle Kyle Williams. Williams coached high school football, but this was his first college gig. Recruiting at the highest level of college football doesn't always come natural -- and you never know how a recruiter will fare until he's in the role. That worried some with this class of Louisiana defensive linemen. LSU couldn't afford to have a down recruiting year at defensive line with all the in-state talent. So far, Williams is passing the test with flying colors. Lamar Brown is the headliner. Per ESPN, he's the No. 1 overall recruit in the country. For much of Brown's recruitment, recruiting services projected him as an offensive lineman. But over the last year, Brown made it clear that defensive line was his home at the next level. LSU didn't travel far to land Brown with the five-star playing high school football in Baton Rouge. LSU didn't go far to find Richard Anderson, either. Anderson, Rivals' No. 2-ranked defensive tackle in the class, attends New Orleans powerhouse Edna Karr. He committed to LSU in June of 2024 and has held firm. There's a good chance Brown and Anderson both finish the cycle as five-star recruits ready to make an immediate impact as true freshmen in 2026. Geralds, the most recent commit, is the No. 93 overall recruit in the class per the Rivals' Industry Rankings. With Gerlads, Anderson, and Brown, LSU has three defensive tackles ranked inside the top 100. The fourth defensive tackle commit is Darryus McKinley. Another Louisiana native and the little brother of current LSU defensive tackle Dominick McKinley. Last offseason, LSU's defensive tackle position was in a rough spot. LSU was looking for scraps in the transfer portal as it lacked talent and depth. Now, the outlook is much brighter. Dominick McKinley and Ahmad Breaux just excelled as true freshmen in 2024 and now there's more talent on the way.

WNBA-leading Minnesota acquired DiJonai Carrington in a trade Sunday from the Dallas Wings for Diamond Miller, Karlie Samuelson and the Lynx's second-round pick in 2027. Carrington averaged 10.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 20 games for the Wings, who acquired her from Connecticut in February as part of a four-team trade.
