Signalling fault disrupts rail passengers
Transport for Wales (TfW) services between Shrewsbury and Birmingham International and West Midlands Railway trains between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street are affected, National Rail said.
It added trains running between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or reduced.
The issues, caused by a problem with the signalling system between Shifnal and Codsall, are expected to last until the end of the day.
West Midlands Railway said rail replacement buses were on standby in Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton.
National Rail said TfW and West Midlands Railway customers could use existing tickets on selected alternative routes.

Warning of train cancellations for entire day at major London station
A warning has been issued of train cancellations for the whole day at a major London railway station. Lines between London St Pancras International and Nottingham and Sheffield are expected to face disruption today (July 3). Operator East Midlands Railway says more trains than usual are being repaired at the same time. This means fewer trains can run and trains that do run will have a reduced number of coaches. A National Rail spokesperson said: 'Their maintenance teams are working hard to resolve the issues and repair the trains. 'If they can repair these trains today, East Midlands Railway hope to be able to run some trains that are currently showing as cancelled.' EMR are expecting the issue to be resolved by tomorrow. Customers whose train is cancelled can use their ticket at no extra cost on the two EMR services running before or after the cancelled service. If a customer misses their rain connection due to a cancellation, EMR says it will manage alternative arrangements.

Rail passengers disrupted after wires damaged
Train passengers are facing disruption at Birmingham New Street railway station after damaged wires led to some lines being blocked. Most platforms were unavailable from about 14:00 BST on Wednesday due to an issue with overhead electric wires, National Rail said. Passengers were warned their trains could be cancelled, delayed by up to two hours or not run for their full route. National Rail added that trains run by Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, London Northwestern Railway, Transport for Wales and West Midlands Railway were affected. The wires were damaged between New Street and Water Orton in Warwickshire, according to post on X by Transport for West Midlands. On some lines, passengers can use their train tickets on other routes while on other lines, replacement buses were being used or have been requested, National Rail added. Rail services disrupted after cables damaged
Rail passengers face a day of delays overhead electric cables were damaged in Staffordshire. The damage was caused at Kidsgrove on Monday evening, and National Rail said services between Stoke-on-Trent and Macclesfield were expected to be affected until the end of Tuesday. Partial repairs have enabled some lines to be reopened, the company added, with tickets accepted on alternative services. Network Rail is due to complete repairs overnight, with services expected to return to normal on Wednesday.
