Secret's out: Kaws: Holiday Thailand stops at Sanam Luang
For its stop in the capital, American artist Brian Donnelly or Kaws brings his beloved character, COMPANION: an 18-metre-tall sculpture. Sitting on Earth and gently holding the Moon, this giant installation has a smaller version resting in its lap. The artwork is all about passing down wisdom, care and values from one generation to the next, showing the strong connection between past, present and future.
Located next to the Grand Palace, Sanam Luang is a place filled with deep cultural meaning for Thailand. With roots in the ancient Mandala belief, the grounds are seen as the centre of the universe – a spot where the celestial and earthly worlds meet. Much like its surroundings, COMPANION – sitting on Earth and cradling the Moon – showcases the harmony between these realms. It's a reflection of how everything is interconnected, just like the wisdom passed down through generations.
Before the exhibition, the sculpture was set up in a few remote spots for final checks and everything went perfectly. Now, it's all set to invite everyone to pause, slow down and fully soak in the experience.

Branstine, 24, who is also a model for Wilhemina, admitted she almost quit the sport she loves this year. She has called modelling her "cool little side hustle" and it has helped fund her tennis career, despite trolls trying to put her down with mean comments. Branstine takes the insults in her stride, suggesting they merely confirm what she already knows. I've seen comments, been DM'd, and just things on different news articles or on Twitter, Instagram or whatever, saying 'oh, your eyes look far apart'. 'You're an alien.' "I'm like, that's literally the point. Thank you. I call myself an alien all the time. All my friends are like 'oh, who's your celebrity lookalike?' Branstine began modelling from an early age with her breakout role coming around the age of seven when she walked on a runway for luxury department store Nordstrom. Her modelling work took a back seat in her teen years and did not take off again until college, with Branstine also working as a delivery driver to pay the bills as modelling became more of a hobby. She said: "I would say I'm 90 per cent a tennis player and then 10 per cent a model but you've got to pick your battles. "I wouldn't call modelling a non-stressful thing to do as your hobby, but I like it. I think I always need something a little bit stressful going on. I'm just built like that. "To be a high-level tennis player or high-level, quite literally anything, you have to be a little crazy. She beat her friend and compatriot, 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu, in the final qualifying round in what was an emotional affair for Branstine. But nothing beat the moment of relief she felt when she won her first game on Court One, having lost the first five games against Sabalenka. Branstine told SunSport: "When I got it, it was just relief. "I was like, oh, thank God. And I wanted everyone to feel that with me. "I really like connecting with the crowd. So I'm glad it excited everyone. And it was a cute little moment." Branstine is a big admirer of Sabalenka and feels she shares similar traits with the world No1, from hitting big to their fiery persona on court, as well as their openness off it. The match ended 6-1 7-5 to Sabalenka, with the Belarusian going on to make the semi-final where she lost to Amanda Anisimova. But she gave Branstine a moment she will never forget after sealing match point. Branstine continued: "At the net, it wasn't really much, but she just said 'you're so beautiful'. "I couldn't believe it. And I was like, you too. And then we kind of laughed. That was our little exchange. "But it was really nice. I like her as a person. She's a great girl, amazing player. "I feel like I could be friends with her. Maybe I will be eventually."

The 58-year-old American hasn't fought since suffering a TKO defeat to Kirk Lawton in 2013. And in the years since, the fighter, whose real name is Eric Esch, has faced an entirely different challenge: battling his weight and morbid obesity. Butterbean's weight ballooned to a staggering 500lb – equivalent to 36.7 stone – at his peak, leaving him wheelchair-bound as medical professionals warned he might never regain the ability to walk. Throughout this period, Butterbean alleges that Paul "talked bad" about him, only to alter his stance now that the veteran has regained his fitness through an extraordinary physical transformation, shedding over 200lbs (15 stone). Speaking to Mirror Fighting this week through Lucky Energy, Butterbean said: "As soon as he says yes, I'm ready. You know, I was in really bad shape. I was in a wheelchair for over three years. I couldn't walk. I got over 500 pounds. I was fat and sloppy and couldn't walk, and Jake wanted to talk bad about me then. "So, I decided to get my fat butt in shape. And guess what I did? I'm 280 right now, 285. I've never been under 300 in my life that I know of. And now that I'm ready, he's like, 'Well, dude, you're a legend. I can't fight you right now.' Yeah, buddy. Let's get it going." When asked about his confidence in potentially ending Paul's boxing career, he added: "I don't think he's afraid of me, but I think his people know that if he gets knocked out, his career's over. Like, I would knock him out bad. I hit way too hard for him." Needless to say, Jake was a joke in the beginning. Just another YouTuber out there trying to prove a point. He said: "I'm not in a wheelchair no more. "I went and moved to DDP for a while, did his yoga programme, and I'm in the best shape of my life right now. I feel better now at 50-something than I did when I was in my 20s, which is insane. I can't explain it, but the Fountain of Youth, I dove in it and I come out so much better." Paul, on the other hand, has seen a meteoric rise since launching his professional boxing career with a first-round TKO against fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib in January 2020. Subsequent victories included knockouts of Nate Robinson and wins over seasoned UFC stars Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva. Despite this setback, Paul bounced back with wins over notable opponents such as Nate Diaz, Andre Augustm, Ryan Bourland and Mike Perry. Last November, Paul faced what was touted as the most significant fight of his career, squaring off against former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson, despite a 30-year age gap. Paul emerged victorious from that bout, winning by unanimous decision. As for his next opponent, it remains uncertain, although Butterbean is hopeful of enticing Paul into a lucrative match, despite ongoing rumours of a rematch with Fury.
