'We have witnessed a historic moment. As Raj Thackeray said, what Balasaheb couldn't do, Devendra Fadnavis has done. This shows that they will stay united. Both of them have come together after 20 years. The excitement of people shows that they wanted both of them to come together', Priyanka Chaturvedi told ANI.
Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS chief Raj Thackeray shared a hug at the Worli Dome in Mumbai as they held a joint rally after the Maharashtra government scrapped two Government Resolutions (GRs) to introduce Hindi as the third language.
The Thackeray brothers garlanded the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at a joint rally of their parties, the Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), at the Worli Dome in Mumbai.
While addressing the 'Awaz Marathicha' joint rally in Mumbai, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said that he has come to 'stay together' with his brother Raj Thackeray.
The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Shiv Sena (UBT) are holding a joint rally in Mumbai to oppose the alleged imposition of the Hindi language over Maharashtra by the state government.
'We have come together to stay together', Uddhav Thackeray said while addressing the gathering.
The former Maharashtra CM stated that ever since the announcement of this program, everyone was 'eagerly' waiting for his and Raj Thackeray's speech. He hailed Raj Thackeray's vocal skills and stated that he has always delivered an 'outstanding' speech, so there is no need for him to speak.
'Since we announced this program, everyone was eagerly waiting for our speech today, but in my view, we are both coming together, and this stage was more important than our speeches. Raj has already given a very outstanding speech, and I think there is no need for me to speak now', Uddhav Thackeray said.
Hitting out at the Centre and Maharashtra government, Uddhav Thackeray questioned what the government had done in its 11-year tenure for Maharashtra and Mumbai, while referring to the fact that he had been asked what the Shiv Sena (UBT) had done for Mumbai while in the BMC.
Uddhav alleged that the Centre has pushed Mumbai's important establishments to Gujarat, and these are all attempts to break the 'backbone' of Maharashtra.
'They always ask us what we did for the Marathi people in Mumbai during our rule in BMC. They all forced Marathi people to go out of Mumbai, but now we are asking a question: in the last 11 years of your rule, what have you done? You have pushed away Mumbai's important establishments to Gujarat. Businesses are being transferred to Gujarat. Big offices are going to Gujarat. The diamond business has already shifted to Gujarat, so you have made all attempts to break the backbone of Maharashtra and continue to do that, and you are asking questions to us', Uddhav Thackeray said.
Earlier, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray launched a veiled attack on Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and said that the Chief Minister did what could not be possible for Balasaheb Thackeray, as he brought the two estranged brothers of the Thackeray family together.
Addressing the gathering, Raj Thackeray said, 'I had said in one of my interviews that my Maharashtra is bigger than any politics and fight. Today, after 20 years, Uddhav and I have come together. What Balasaheb could not do, Devendra Fadnavis did it... The work of bringing both of us together.' (ANI)

Mr Rohit's remarks also came two days after state NCP chief and party MP Sunil Tatkare submission's that BJP needs to be consulted for the two factions of the NCP to reunite. The Ajit Pawar-led NCP joined hands with the ruling BJP in Maharashtra in July 2023. "There is no discussion on unification even within our core group. Even when such a situation arises and time comes to come together, we will have to talk to the central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party, because the top leadership of BJP took us with them. Consulting them is natural," Mr Tatkare told reporters. Thousands of farmers have been impacted, especially in the Vidarbha region, due to widespread floods. "Speak In Marathi": Fight Over Seat In Mumbai Local Turns Into Language Row
Mumbai: A seemingly small fight over a seat in a Mumbai local train escalated into a full-blown language row earlier this week, with one woman telling the other to learn Marathi or "get out". The incident took place on Friday evening in a crowded ladies' coach of the train running on the Central line. A video of the incident went viral on social media, in which six to seven women can be seen arguing over a seat - something that is not strange to a Mumbai local. However, during this time, one woman criticised another passenger for not speaking in Marathi. "If you want to stay in our Mumbai, speak Marathi, otherwise get out," she told her. Soon after, other women in the train also joined the debate. According to officials, the Railway Protection Force and the Government Railway Police are investigating the incident. This comes amid the ongoing language row in Maharashtra, with Raj Thackeray's MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) party workers being criticised for their continuous targeting and confrontation of people not speaking in Marathi. Earlier this week, a shopkeeper in Mumbai's Vikhroli was assaulted by MNS workers over a WhatsApp status deemed offensive to the Marathi-speaking community. The video shows the shopkeeper being forced to apologise publicly while being threatened and physically attacked. On July 1, MNS workers in Thane slapped a street food vendor for refusing to converse in Marathi. In another incident, a migrant auto-rickshaw driver in Maharashtra's Palghar district was assaulted in full public view by MNS and Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) supporters. MNS workers also vandalised businessman Sushil Kedia's office in Mumbai, days after he vowed not to learn Marathi. The incident was captured on camera, in which five to six supporters of Raj Thackeray can be seen throwing what looked like bricks at the office. A security personnel rushed in to stop the attack, but they only stopped after emptying the bags. The businessman later issued an apology.

Calling Kokate 'misguided", MLA Rohit Pawar hit out at the minister for playing game amid ongoing session and not paying attention to crucial matters, including farmers' suicide and 'countless agricultural issues" in the state.
