OpenAI's Web Browser To Rival Chrome Is Launching Soon: Here's What We Know

OpenAI has been planning on its AI-powered browser for a while and it seems the company is finally close to making it official.
OpenAI is close to launching its AI-powered web browser that will take on Chrome and the Perplexity Comet browser in the market. AI is the talk of the town, and web browsers become a clear target for these companies, as most users spend bulk of their time on these platforms for their work, leisure and others.
The ChatGPT maker is keen to increase its user base and the upcoming browser will be part of its strategy with AI at the helm of affairs. New reports say the OpenAI web browser launch could happen in the next few weeks.
Web Browser For AI Data: Ripe Avenue
OpenAI needs data to make ChatGPT stronger and more useful to millions. It has relied on data through multiple sources and Google all this time. But a web browser means the AI-powered features and the AI agent could look to entice people to change the way they use the platform for their form and function.
OpenAI has been planning for the web browser since last year, and Chrome is the obvious target with this product, which is a market leader by a massive gap between the next player. Report by Reuters earlier this month claims OpenAI could integrate Operator, its AI agent for web browsers and sell it as a key feature for its upcoming product.
AI agents promise to simplify tasks and let people handle the complex work and let AI do the side work effectively. Web browsers and tabs go hand-in-hand and it goes without saying that AI agents could play a big part in changing the face of browsers in the future.
The company even has a video which shows the difference in Edge loading time without WebUI 2.0 interface and after having the change. Even the Settings page on Edge now loads faster, giving people good reasons to consider the Microsoft browser for their daily use.
