Union Minister Kishan Reddy on a two-day visit to ECL
During his visit, the Minister will review operations at the Jhanjra Underground Mine and Sonepur Bazari OCP, inaugurate the Eco Park at Jhanjra named 'Sindoor Park' to commemorate the recent successful 'Operation Sindoor' and participate in the grand celebration of International Day of Yoga 2025 at the Eco Park.
He will also inaugurate the newly constructed Mahudanga Rehabilitation Site.
Further to extending support to local communities, he will distribute appointment letters to candidates under compassionate employment as per NCWA guidelines and provide tricycles to people with disabilities at RN Colony, Sonepur Bazari Area, ECL.
As part of his role, Kishan Reddy will conduct interactive sessions with stakeholders throughout the mining sector. This includes coal mine workers who have been essential for achieving the organizational milestones. He will also visit Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) sites to meet Project Affected People (PAPs) and commend employees for exceptional performance.

Government clears indigenous defence procurement worth ₹1.05 lakh crore
The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on Thursday (July 3, 2025) accorded Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for 10 capital acquisition proposals valued at ₹1.05 lakh crore through indigenous sourcing. It was the first DAC meeting after Operation Sindoor to enhance capabilities of the armed forces. 'AoNs were accorded for procurement of Armoured Recovery Vehicles, Electronic Warfare System, Integrated Common Inventory Management System for the Tri-Services and Surface-to-Air Missiles,' said the Ministry of Defence in a statement. The agenda of the council's meeting was to enhance India's air defence capabilities along the Pakistan border. The procurement of indigenous Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM) systems worth ₹30,000 crore for the Indian Army has been approved. These procurements will provide higher mobility, effective air defence, better supply chain management and augment the operational preparedness of the armed forces. 'AoNs were also accorded for procurement of Moored Mines, Mine Counter Measure Vessels, Super Rapid Gun Mount and Submersible Autonomous Vessels. These procurements will enable mitigation of potential risks posed to the Naval and Merchant Vessels,' the statement said. 'To provide further impetus to indigenous design and development, AoNs were accorded under the Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed Developed and Manufactured) category,' it added.

Indian defence and aerospace startup Raphe mPhibr, which played a crucial role in Operation Sindoor, has raised $100 million (around Rs 835 crore) in its latest funding round. The round was led by General Catalyst and was the largest-ever private funding in India's aerospace manufacturing sector. Other participants were Think Investments, Amal Parikh, and several prominent family offices. After this, the startup's total funding has reached $145 million, meaning Raphe mPhibr has secured over Rs 1200 crore in total investment to date. What Does Raphe mPhibr Do? It was founded 10 years ago and based in Noida, Raphe mPhibr was established by Vivek Mishra, who is also its CEO. The company develops drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Many of which are already in use by the Indian Armed Forces, while others are in their final testing phase. Defence Innovation In India This funding is received at a time when the global use of drones in warfare and defence operations is rapidly rising. Recently, both Indian and Pakistani forces have deployed drones along the border. The Indian government is also encouraging private defence startups through initiatives like iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence). Apart from this satellite launch technology has recently been handed over to HAL.
