Eamonn Holmes makes rare relationship revelation after Ruth Langsford split

Daily Mirror5 days ago

Eamonn Holmes was in a relationship with Ruth Langsford before they announced their shock split last year
Eamonn Holmes opened up about the secret to a "happy relationship" during a chat with his GB News co-host Ellie Costello, following his split from Ruth Langsford last year.
The 65-year-old presenter parted ways with fellow Loose Women star Ruth after 14 years of marriage amid claims that their busy careers had them moving in "different directions".

Since the separation, both Eamonn and Ruth have kept quiet about their divorce, although Ruth has expressed she's "embracing" being single.

Eamonn, who has recently faced health issues and suffered a fall, is now romantically linked with 42-year-old counsellor Katie Alexander, having taken their love public last year with a lavish Mediterranean cruise and several event appearances.
While Eamonn has steered clear of discussing his new relationship in interviews, he's now shared insights into what makes a relationship work, reports Belfast Live.
In a conversation with Ellie about her husband, Eamonn queried: "How important is it, for instance, when you met Gerard did you look at him and think, what a handsome bloke he is, or did you wonder if he thinks politically, religiously, and whatever in the same way?"
Ellie responded, saying she initially found Gerard "very tall and handsome."
Eamonn further questioned: "But would his politics and would his views on things have influenced you in some way?"

Ellie remarked: "Not initially, no, but we do have the same politics. I think it makes life easier if you do. What about you? What do you think?"
Eamonn responded: "I think you're right. I think any partners I've ever had in life, I haven't deliberately gone looking for it, but I think they think the same as me."

This revelation comes amid rumours that Eamonn and his partner Katie are considering serious moves in their relationship.
It was reported by one source that Katie "wants to love and care for him – especially as he's in such a bad way with his legs and back, and can't walk properly without assistance".
Eamonn has suffered with chronic pain and mobility issues after slipping three discs in his back in 2021.
He underwent spinal surgery the following year but has suffered major health setbacks recently, heartbreakingly saying he was on "borrowed time" and "not OK".

Plus-size traveller reveals the European country where people 'constantly stare' and give her 'dirty looks'

A plus-size influencer has spoken out about the 'dirty looks' and name-calling she encountered during a recent trip to one of Europe's most exclusive luxury destinations. Alex Aspasia, a 30-year-old content creator from Miami, U.S., has built a large following online for her unapologetic body positive attitude and travel adventures around the globe. But the jetsetter, who is 6ft and 385lbs, admits she was almost left 'intimidated' by constant stares and comments regarding her weight from wealthy tourists at the high-end Mediterranean hotspot. In a video posted to TikTok and Instagram, Aspasia, who boasts over 700K followers on each platform, did not mince words when describing the treatment she received during her stay in Monaco. She claimed 'rich' visitors especially would gawk at her figure, while others would approach her to pass unsolicited comments on her size. Speaking to What's The Jam, she said: 'The reactions were definitely a lot. I got constant stares, some shocked, some judgmental. One guy even ran into me and called me "big mama."' Aspasia added: 'A few people asked if I was a plus-size model, and some came up to take pictures. I think it was a mix of admiration and shock - because of my size. 'I stood out and people weren't used to seeing someone like me confidently taking up space in an elite place like Monaco where being thin is the beauty standard.' In the video, which has since racked up 255,000 views and over 11,000 likes, Aspasia is shown wearing a figure-hugging maxi gown as she confidently struts through the lobby of a hotel. She attached a caption that reads: 'The amount of dirty looks I got today while in Monaco is insane! A little girl said I looked like a princess though, so it doesn't matter.' Despite her unpleasant experience in Monaco, the model remains undeterred in her desire to explore new places. She said: 'I still believe travel is such an important and valuable experience.' Alex previously revealed that she struggles fitting into a standard plane seat and instead is forced to fork £6,000 for two tickets. She wishes airlines would make bigger seats to accommodate everyone, including passengers with disabilities. The influencer has also gotten stuck in restaurant seating before; though doesn't pay attention to the negativity, even though she has been dubbed a 'whale' in the past. Australian content creator Brooke Phoebe recently posted a video titled 'Flying while fat' on TikTok, as she broke down every aspect of taking a flight as a size 30-32 woman. 'I show you everything, walking down the aisle in the plane, getting into my seat, the 'Now I flew with Ryanair, which is a budget airline here in the UK,' she said in a voiceover.

Myleene Klass 'inspired' by Rod Stewart wife Penny Lancaster as she shares career update

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Myleene Klass has revealed that she was "inspired" by Rod Stewart's wife, Penny Lancaster, as she embarks on an important new role. In a recent episode of the We're Not Getting Any Younger podcast, the former Hear'Say star, 47, opened up about a new medical position that's far removed from the glitzy world of showbiz. Myleene is now a trained first aider for St John Ambulance, reportedly taking up the challenge after she had to save her daughters from choking. However, it seems her new position was also inspired by Penny's work. When quizzed on what she enjoys most about her past or current work, Myleene replied that she's "hungry for challenges" and feels like she's "never satisfied." When asked what she's got planned next, she added:"I mean, look, I've just passed as an official first aider for St John, so I'm going to be going out — as inspired by Penny Lancaster — because she works with the police in her free time." (Image:) Myleene continued:"Yeah, she's amazing. She's amazing, and so then I thought, well — my mum's in the NHS — and I was brought up around doctors, and yeah, I really do think that that's a leveller. "Healthcare's a leveller; everyone should have it, and I think that I don't wanna be the person that doesn't know what to do." However, Myleene added that now, if something happens to her, she's the person in the room who's "screwed," so she feels she has to ensure that others know "what to do" as well. In a post announcing the news on Instagram, Myleene shared photos of herself wearing her uniform near an ambulance. She invited fans to "check out" her "new office" before thanking people for their messages of support. Last year, Myleene became an ambassador for St John, revealing that she had been left "overwhelmed" by the support she received and confessing she hadn't realised how tough the training would be, reports The Standard. (Image: Getty Images) Loose Women panellist Penny has been a special constable with the City of London Police since 2021. She felt inspired to join after appearing in Channel 4's Famous and Fighting Crime. Speaking to the same podcast, the model shared details about her crime-fighting career, including that she had arrested two people for drink and drug-driving, something she found "nerve-wracking". Penny explained that she had to perform the caution correctly or risk the arrest being "thrown out." She said: "It was nerve-wracking because to say the caution for the first time, remember the lines, and do it all correctly — there's a necessity for arrest. And back at the station, when you're talking to the custody sergeant — if you don't do those steps correctly, whatever you've arrested the suspect for can be thrown out."
