Hulk Hogan laid to rest at Florida church where he was baptized in private ceremony
A private funeral service was held on Tuesday evening for Hulk Hogan, where dozens were gathered at Indian Rocks Church in Florida to celebrate the life of the wrestling icon. Hogan died last month at 71 years old after suffering a heart attack on July 24 at his home in Clearwater, according to the Pinella County medical examiner. He had a history of atrial fibrillation, a heart condition that causes irregular and rapid heart rate. Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, was baptized at Indian Rocks Church in 2023, and he was laid to rest there surrounded by family, friends and loved ones. WWE icons like Paul "Triple H" Levesque and WWE former co-CEO Stephanie McMahon were among those who attended the service. Other celebrities, including Kid Rock, Bam Margera and more were seen. The service had a strong police presence, as Largo officers and church security were patrolling the area as well as K-9 dogs. Signs reading, "Private Event," were at the gates. For those that couldn't attend, like President Donald Trump, they paid their respects over social media. "They are having the 'Hulkster's' funeral today, and I thought everybody would enjoy seeing this picture," Trump wrote on Truth Social with a picture of him and Hogan arm wrestling. Gov. Ron DeSantis also ordered flags be flown at half-staff last Friday, declaring it "Hulk Hogan Day in Florida." "He was a true Floridian through and through," DeSantis wrote in a statement about the declaration. Hogan's body will be cremated. Sky Daily Hogan shared in an emotional social media post that her husband had been "dealing with some health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them." "I had so much faith in his strength. I thought we still had more time," Daily Hogan wrote. Hogan's larger-than-life personality was seen in and out of the wrestling ring. He was the main draw of the first-ever WrestleMania in 1985 and was a cornerstone of the entertainment giant that continues to flourish today. He was also a star on the silver screen as well as reality TV, with "Hogan Knows Best" following his life on VH1, while also starring in multiple movies and shows. "I am so grateful I knew the real version of him," Brooke Bollea Oleksy, Hogan's daughter, wrote on social media. "Not just the one the world viewed through a carefully curated lens." Hogan's son, Nick, added in his own social post: "Thank you for being the best dad in the world and thank you for being my best friend. I love you so much Big Dog and I will miss you forever."

Teddy Bridgewater returns to NFL with Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Teddy Bridgewater is returning to the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after he agreed to a one-year deal on Tuesday. The Buccaneers are the eighth team in 12 seasons for the 32-year-old Bridgewater. Bridgewater coached his former high school in Miami to a Class 3A state championship last fall and then returned to the NFL in late December to serve as a backup to Jared Goff for the playoff-bound Lions. He will provide insurance for the four-time defending NFC South champions behind Baker Mayfield. The Buccaneers also have veteran Kyle Trask, who has thrown 11 passes in four seasons since he was a second-round pick in 2021. Mayfield returned to practice Tuesday after missing a couple of days because of a hand contusion. Bridgewater said last month that he was suspended from coaching Miami Northwestern High School because he provided players with financial benefits that he says he reported to the school. "I'm not going anywhere," Bridgewater said on social media post. "And if it comes down to it, I will volunteer from the bleachers like I used to in 2018 and 2019 when no one had a problem." Bridgewater, a first-round pick by Minnesota in 2014, is 33-32 as a starter and made the Pro Bowl after his second season when he led the Vikings to an 11-5 record. He also spent time with the Jets, Saints, Panthers, Broncos and Dolphins. Bridgewater has completed 66.4% of his passes for 15,120 yards, 75 touchdowns, 47 interceptions and a 90.5 passer rating. Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard was an assistant coach in Miami in 2022 when Bridgewater backed up Tua Tagovailoa. Buccaneers defensive line coach Charlie Strong was Bridgewater's head coach at Louisville. Tampa Bay's quarterback room also includes Michael Pratt and Connor Bazelak. Pratt, a seventh-round pick out of Tulane by Green Bay in 2024 who signed to the Buccaneers' practice squad last August, has been sidelined by a back injury. Bazelak signed as an undrafted free agent out of Bowling Green where he spent the final two of his six college seasons.

Davante Adams shares bold prediction on Travis Hunter's rookie season
As the start of the NFL regular season draws closer, the Jacksonville Jaguars are offering more insight into how the team plans to deploy rookie Travis Hunter. Hunter, who was a two-way star at Jackson State and Colorado, was listed as the starting wide receiver and the backup cornerback on the Jaguars' first official depth chart. As the debate about whether Hunter will take a similar number of snaps on offense and defense at the professional football level continues, Los Angeles Rams wideout Davante Adams offered his take on the rookie's prospects. Adams believes Hunter could face injury concerns if his workload involves significant snaps in the long-term on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. "I don't even think it's possible to do. Not at a high level. It's hard enough to go cover a punt and then be on one side," Adams said during a recent appearance on "The Pivot" podcast. "That's just a lot of mileage, man. I'm not even concerned so much if he can do it over the course of a game or a season. It's more like, how long is his career going to be if he's playing that many snaps? All you're doing is doubling your risk of injury." Adams made it clear that he hopes Hunter can ultimately avoid any injury, but cautioned about what the Heisman winner will encounter playing defense against NFL players. "I don't wish any of that on him. I hope he can play an injury-free season and go ball out. But this is the reality. It's already 100% injury guarantee. Once you get out there playing both sides, you gotta tackle Derrick Henry with that frame. He's athletic as hell, but he's gotta do some ninja s---." Two-way NFL players have been a rarity. Chuck Bednarik was the league's last full-time two-way athlete. Bednarik was a linebacker and offensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1949-62. Sammy Baugh and Don Hutson are also notable former two-way stars. Baugh was a quarterback, defensive back and punter. Huston spent his entire NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, playing receiver and safety. He later had a stint as a Packers assistant coach.
