MI Batter Tries To Review A Bowled In MLC, Has To Walk Off Red-Faced, Video Viral
Michael Bracewell mistakenly tried to review a clean-bowled dismissal in a 2025 MLC. His reaction after he got to know said it all!
MI New York batter Michael Bracewell had to walk back red-faced and with a sheepish smile after mistakenly trying to review a clean-bowled in a 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) match against San Francisco Unicorns on Tuesday (June 24). He was out for a golden duck in a big 47-run loss for the New Yorkers.
It happened on the second ball of the 17th over with MI attempting to chase the steep target of 247 set by the Unicorns. Bracewell faced Romario Shepherd for his first ball, who had gotten rid of the well-set Quinton de Kock on the previous delivery. Bracewell got a skiddy straight ball on his off-stump and tried to swipe it to the leg-side but missed the bounce, letting the rock sneak under his blade to clatter the off-stump.
MI were already quite behind the contest before that over, but by taking two wickets and leaking just two runs, Shepherd put the final nail in the coffin. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans would be quite aware of his impact in such situations both with bat and ball as he did the same for them in IPL 2025.
'Tough day for us, credit to them," MI captain Nicholas Pooran reflected after the match, as quoted by Cricbuzz. 'We didn't execute our plans as a bowling group. If we chased that down, it would be a great chase. The opening partnership gave us a chance, but credit to them, they bowled well in the middle phase."
MI have managed to win just one of their five games so far.
'We've had some tough games, it is challenging when the other teams are also playing nicely. We need to go over our plans again and come out with better execution of those plans," Pooran said.

4 Temporary Replacements Of 2025 Who Can Earn Big Money In IPL 2026 Auction: Jonny Bairstow, Mustafizur Rahman And...
photoDetails english 2934908 Updated:Jul 21, 2025, 10:28 PM IST 1. Jonny Bairstow (Mumbai Indians) 1 / 7 Mumbai Indians picked Jonny Bairstow as temporary replacement for Will Jacks, who had to join England squad for national duties ahead of the IPL 2025 playoffs. Bairstow played just two matches in IPL 2025, scoring 85 runs at a strike rate of 184.78, but he made immediate impact with the bat while opening the innings with Rohit Sharma for Mumbai Indians. The 35-year-old is an experienced T20 cricketer with a strong international record and a proven match-winner in the IPL. His explosive batting and wicket-keeping skill make him a valuable asset and if Bairstow maintains fitness, franchises are likely to bid heavily for him during the 2026 auction. Jonny Bairstow's IPL Record 2 / 7 Jonny Bairstow, who is one of the cleanest strikers of the ball and can win the matches for his team on his own, has scored 1674 runs in 52 matches with an average of 34.87 and strike rate of 146.07 in his IPL career so far. 2. Kyle Jamieson (Punjab Kings) 3 / 7 Punjab Kings (PBKS) picked New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson as a replacement for Lockie Ferguson, who was ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 due to a hamstring injury. He played only four matches of IPL 2025 season but he made notable contributions, particularly in high-stakes games for Punjab Kings. Jamieson, who is known for leveraging his 6'8" height to generate pace and bounce and can also contribute as a lower-order batter, can be a good buying option for teams during IPL 2026 auction. Kyle Jamieson's IPL Record 4 / 7 Kyle Jamieson, who is known for using his height to extract extra and awkward bounce, has picked 14 wickets in 13 matches with an economy of 9.67 in his IPL career so far. 3. Mustafizur Rahman (Delhi Capitals) 5 / 7 Delhi Capitals (DC) signed Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman as a temporary replacement for Jake Fraser-McGurk, who had left Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 midway due to personal reasons. He took four wickets in three matches of IPL 2025 with his variations. Given his experience and ability to bowl cutters and deceptive slower balls, Mustafizur Rahman can be a sought-after bowler for franchises during IPL 2026 auction. Mustafizur Rahman's IPL Record 6 / 7 Mustafizur Rahman, who has played for five IPL teams, has 65 wickets to his name in 60 matches with an economy of 8.13 so far. 4. William O'Rourke (Lucknow Super Giants) 7 / 7 Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) roped in New Zealand pacer, William O'Rourke as a replacement for Mayank Yadav, who sustained a back injury and was ruled out of the IPL 2025 season. It was his maiden IPL season during which he had a mix of highs and lows. O'Rourke performance against Gujarat Titans ( 3 wickets for 27 runs in 4 overs) showcased his potential as a game-changer. Overall, he picked 6 wickets in three IPL matches during the IPL 2025 season. Given his ability to extract bounce and perform under pressure in key moments, O'Rourke can be a valuable asset and teams are likely to bid heavily for him during the IPL 2026 auction.

4 Players Rajasthan Royals Might Release Before IPL 2026 Auction: Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer And...
photoDetails english 2934881 Updated:Jul 21, 2025, 06:49 PM IST 1. Dhruv Jurel 1 / 8 Rajasthan Royals showed massive trust in Dhruv Jurel by retaining him for a whopping Rs 14 crore ahead of the IPL mega auction. However, Dhruv Jurel failed to deliver up to the expectations during the IPL 2025 season. The-24-year-old Jurel scored 333 runs in 14 matches, with an average of 37.00 and strike rate of 156.33 during the IPL 2025 season. He failed to take RR over the victory on multiple occasions in the run chase during the season. Given his high salary and low return, Rajasthan Royals might consider releasing Jurel before the IPL 2026 auction. Dhruv Jurel's IPL Record 2 / 8 Young India wicket-keeper batter Dhruv Jurel has scored 680 runs in 42 IPL matches with an average of 28.33 and strike rate of 153.84 so far. 2. Tushar Deshpande 3 / 8 Tushar Deshpande was picked by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 6.50 crore during the mega auction. After showing his wicket-taking ability and fighting spirit at CSK in the last few editions, Tushar failed to deliver for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 season. Tushar has picked 9 wickets in 10 matches of IPL 2025 with an poor economy rate of 10.62 before getting dropped from the Rajasthan Royals playing XI in the last few matches. Given his ordinary show with the ball, Deshpande might be released by Rajasthan Royals before the IPL 2026 auction. Tushar Deshpande's IPL Record 4 / 8 Tushar Deshpande, who emerged as the CSK's highest wicket-taker in their title-winning campaign in 2023, has picked 51 wickets in 46 IPL matches so far. 3. Shimron Hetmyer 5 / 8 Shimron Hetmyer, the destructive finisher who was a mainstay in the Royals middle-order during the last cycle from 2022 to 2024, was retained by Rajasthan Royals for 11 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 season. However, Hetmyer failed to finish games for RR during the IPL 2025 season. The 28-year-old Hetmyer scored 239 runs in 14 matches of IPL 2025 with an average of 21.72 and strike rate of 145.73. Considering his ordinary performance and high salary, Rajasthan Royals might consider releasing Hetmyer to buy someone new for the finisher's role during the IPL 2026 auction. Shimron Hetmyer's IPL Record 6 / 8 Shimron Hetmyer, who is known for his aggressive batting and finishing abilities, has scored 1482 runs in 86 IPL matches with an average of 29.05 and strike rate of 151.84 so far. 4. Wanindu Hasaranga 7 / 8 Wanindu Hasaranga was picked by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 5.25 crore during the IPL mega auction. The franchise had high hopes from the Sri Lankan spinner but he failed to deliver up to the expectations. Hasaranga picked 11 wickets in 11 matches of IPL 2025 with an economy rate of 9.04. Given his ordinary performance with the ball, RR might consider releasing Hasaranga before the IPL 2026 auction. Wanindu Hasaranga's IPL Record 8 / 8 Wanindu Hasaranga, who is a popular choice in global franchise leagues, has picked 46 wickets in 37 matches with an economy rate of 8.41 during his IPL career so far.

Shubman Gill Asked To Stop Copying Virat Kohli, Mind Language: 'Has Become A Trend'
Last Updated: Manoj Tiwary has slammed Shubman Gill for imitating Virat Kohli's aggressive style, using slang, and angry chats with umpires, saying it affects his team's performance. Former India cricketer Manoj Tiwary has asked Shubman Gill to stop trying to copy Virat Kohli and avoid using 'slang' and aggressive language towards opposition cricketers. He believes Gill badly represented his team by following the trend started by 'previous captains', which hurt his batting and his team's chances on the field. Gill took over from Rohit Sharma just before the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. He had previously captained Gujarat Titans for two years in the IPL. His aggression has been on display since his under-19 and Punjab days, but got more limelight as he became more popular and a national candidate in IPL 2025. In the Lord's Test, it went up a notch as he asked Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett to 'grow some f****** balls' when he suspected the former of trying to waste time. Eventually, India lost the match narrowly and the moment was heavily blamed for turning the tide in England's favor. SportsBoom. 'Ever since he became a captain in the IPL, I have noticed that he is getting into an aggressive mindset, and having animated chats with umpires. It was unlike Gill. He doesn't need to show that kind of aggression, and doesn't have to prove anything." 'He can stick to his style of being aggressive. It doesn't mean that you have to always give it back verbally. Aggression can also be shown by winning Test matches. India could have easily led the series 2-1. Such aggression is not good for the game, especially from the captain of the Indian cricket team," he added. 'I am not happy with the language and words that are coming in the audio when they are near the stumps. You are representing the Indian cricket team. I think this has become a trend, as previous captains have probably used such words to express their anger, but this needs to be controlled. If you use slang, the next generation will pick it up," the former Bengal cricketer added. Before the fourth Test in Manchester, England's Harry Brook admitted that the incident united his team and helped them defend 193 in the final innings. With the series now 2-1 in England's favor, India will be desperate for a turnaround at Old Trafford, starting July 23. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
