Fayetteville police investigating early-morning homicide off Camden Road

Fayetteville police are investigating an early morning shooting July 7 off Camden Road.
Officers responded at 2:02 a.m. July 7 to reports of a shooting on the 400 block of Slim Circle and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, the Fayetteville Police Department said in a news release.
The officers attempted to perform life-saving measures, but the man, identified as Tavon Donte Adams, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene by arriving medical personnel, the release said.
The Fayetteville Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective J. Phillips at 910-322-7046.

Milwaukee Police are investigating a shooting that took place near N. Water St. and E. Michigan St. shortly after midnight on July 12. One person, 52, died on the scene. Four others sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds — a person about 30 years of age, a 39 year old, a 34 year old and a 32 year old. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment. ‘Suspicious' 17-year-old wielding loaded machine gun arrested in Danville

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A 17-year-old was arrested Wednesday afternoon after officers saw them walking in the middle of the road with a loaded machine gun in Danville. According to Terry McCord, Deputy Chief with the Danville Police Department, on June 2 at approximately 4 p.m., officers witnessed the suspect acting 'suspicious' while walking illegally in the middle of the roadway. The juvenile was stopped and found to have a loaded machine gun. One hospitalized on I-57 in Shelby Co. semi-truck crash The 17-year-old was then arrested on the following charges in the area of Martin and Normal Streets: Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon Possessing a weapon under the age of 21 Unlawful use of a weapon-possession of a machine gun Obstructing a peace officer A member of the Danville Police Department Community Housing Unit, with help from the Problem-Oriented Policing Unit and Vermilion County Metropolitan, carried out the arrest. The suspect was then taken to the Vermilion County Juvenile Detention Center and held for a court hearing.
