Ancelotti's first spell as Real Madrid manager was from 2013-2015, and his most recent time at the club was from 2021 to May 2025. The Italian coach faces a sentence from his first spell as Real Madrid manager.
The report suggests that Ancelotti has been sentenced to one year in prison for tax offenses related to the 2014 tax year in Spain. The Brazilian national team manager was accused of concealing income related to his image rights.
Many soccer players have faced similar sentences due to tax offenses in the past, and fans wonder if the Italian coach will serve jail time.
Will Carlo Ancelotti go to jail?
Despite Ancelotti's sentence to one year in jail, the Italian coach will likely not serve time in jail. Sky News reports that defendants are rarely required to serve sentences under two years for a non-violent crime in Spanish law.

Sami Mokbel from BBC Sport reports that Ancelotti will likely face a fine or other probationary conditions. EFE Noticias was informed by legal sources who reported that the Provincial Court of Madrid condemned Ancelotti to a fine of around $452,453.
Ancelotti was previously acquitted of a similar charge in 2015 and will reportedly be banned from receiving public funds or tax benefits for three years. Ancelotti has not published a statement after this report came out. Globo reports that Ancelotti has no previous criminal record, and Real Madrid has already paid off his debts.
Carlo Ancelotti and Brazil
Ancelotti is expected to coach Brazil's last two World Cup qualifiers in September. Brazil has already qualified for the 2026 World Cup as they sit third in the CONMEBOL qualifiers table.

Brazil has 25 points with seven wins, four draws, and five losses in 16 games. Under Ancelotti, Brazil has one win and one draw. They drew 0-0 against Ecuador and defeated Paraguay 1-0 in June.
In September, Ancelotti's Brazil will take on Chile, which can no longer qualify for the World Cup, and Bolivia.

Houston ace Framber Valdez criticizes defensive shift in Astros' loss to Nationals

Associated Press HOUSTON (AP) — Houston ace Framber Valdez expressed frustration about the defensive positioning on a play in the sixth inning Monday night that led to the only run he allowed in the Astros' 2-1 loss to the Washington Nationals. There were two outs in the sixth when Valdez walked Josh Bell. Nathaniel Lowe's groundball double to the right field corner scored Bell and tied the game at 1. Valdez wasn't happy that right fielder Taylor Trammell was shifted halfway to center field instead of in right field on the play. 'I saw the right fielder playing center field and, you know, we have a center fielder for that,' Valdez told reporters in Spanish through a translator. 'I feel like the right fielder should have been playing right field. I was uncomfortable with that.' Valdez was asked if he addressed the positioning with the coaching staff. 'I don't have to ask the coaches about that,' he said. 'I feel like baseball is a game of common sense. With me as a lefty pitcher, they don't hit a lot of fly balls against me.' Valdez allowed three hits and a run while tying a season high with 12 strikeouts in six innings to become the 10th pitcher in franchise history to reach 1,000 career strikeouts (1,007). Riley Adams hit a solo homer in the seventh inning to give Washington the win and extend Houston's skid to a season-high five games. ___ AP MLB: recommended Item 1 of 1

The Whitecaps and Müller only have the final details left to hammer out regarding the personal terms of the deal, which would include him signing a deal that would not make him a designated player in 2025, but then becoming one in 2026, GIVEMESPORT reported.
