Udall neighbors rattled after park restrooms set on fire — twice
Udall Police Chief Erik King is calling it arson and says it's unlike anything he's dealt with in town before. The damage is estimated at around $10,000.

'This is where the trash can was right here in this corner,' King told KSN. 'Melted the alarms, melted the drains, melted the light switches.'
Police say it happened Thursday around 4:30 in the afternoon. Then, just hours later, it happened again.
'The same person returned and, at about 8:40 at night, lit the boy's bathroom on fire, and that caused significant damage,' King said. 'It was on fire for 20 minutes before the alarm company notified us.'
He says the timing couldn't be worse, with the Fourth of July just around the corner.
Neighbors say the smoke drew their attention before they knew what was happening.
'I was doing yardwork and I had the boys, and a lady from out of town came up to the fence and asked if I had seen a person walking around,' said Skylar Kistler, who lives next to the park.
That's when she noticed the smoke coming from the bathroom.
'It kind of made us, I guess, feel protective, like a little more protective, like kind of upset that anybody would do that,' she said.
Her husband Tylor says the damage is personal.
'I've lived here my whole life, so it's kind of nice to have a park like this with a splashpad, and you know everything here for the boys right in our backyard, and it's just kind of bad. This is a good building, and it's terrible,' he said.
Chief King says the person believed to be responsible has been arrested and is currently being held in juvenile detention. In the meantime, the city is bringing in port-a-potties, and repairs could take up to two months.

Number missing in Texas floods drops from 97 to 3, officials say
The number of people thought to be missing in the devastating floods in Kerr County, Texas, over the Fourth of July holiday weekend has been revised down from at least 97 to three, officials announced July 19. The city of Kerrville, Texas, said the Kerr County Flood Disaster Joint Information Center confirmed that "through extensive follow-up work among state and local agencies, many individuals who were initially reported as missing have been verified as safe and removed from the list." 'We are profoundly grateful to the more than 1,000 local, state, and federal authorities who have worked tirelessly in the wake of the devastating flood that struck our community,' Kerrville City Manager Dalton Rice said. On July 15, Gov. Greg Abbott said 97 people were still listed as missing in the greater Kerrville area, down from 160-plus about a week ago. 'This remarkable progress reflects countless hours of coordinated search and rescue operations, careful investigative work, and an unwavering commitment to bringing clarity and hope to families during an unimaginably difficult time,' Rice said. Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly thanked law enforcement and others who helped verify the number missing. 'Your dedication, professionalism, and compassion have brought comfort and answers to so many." Man found unconscious in car with loaded illegal firearm in Northeast Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man is facing charges after he was found unconscious in his car in the middle of a Northeast Portland street with a loaded illegal firearm in his lap early Saturday morning. Just before 5 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Northeast Sandy Boulevard and 82nd Avenue on reports of a person passed out in a vehicle. Arriving at the scene, police said they found a man slumped over in the driver's seat and the vehicle running. Man shot, killed in Safeway parking lot in NE Portland While they were approaching the car, officers saw a firearm with an extended magazine in the man's lap, authorities said. Police requested backup and developed a tactical plan to deescalate the situation, eventually taking the man into custody. A loaded firearm was also seized from the vehicle and the car was towed.
