Kallas: EU Condemns Any Attempts to Undermine Syria's Stability - Jordan News

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, strongly condemned the recent violence in southern Syria, which reportedly resulted in hundreds of casualties, amid reports of "armed groups carrying out direct attacks against civilians." اضافة اعلان In an official EU statement, Kallas called for a transparent, credible, and impartial investigation into the violations, stressing the need to hold all perpetrators of serious crimes accountable in accordance with international humanitarian law and human rights law, including through support for relevant international mechanisms. She emphasized the need for full respect of the current ceasefire, urging all parties to immediately halt violence, ensure the protection of civilians without discrimination based on ethnicity or religion, and preserve civilian infrastructure, including religious sites. Kallas also underscored the urgency of curbing incitement and sectarian hate speech. Kallas reiterated the EU's call for all foreign parties—without exception—to respect Syria's unity, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. She condemned any unilateral military actions or efforts to destabilize Syria, whether through military presence, media manipulation, or foreign interference. The High Representative stated that the EU remains committed to supporting its partners in delivering urgent humanitarian aid, calling on all parties, particularly the Syrian transitional authorities, to ensure safe and unimpeded access to life-saving assistance, including healthcare, water, food, and the protection of humanitarian workers. She also recalled the recent easing of some EU restrictive measures as part of a gradual and reversible approach to facilitating this process.

Safadi: Knesset Decision Legally Void; The West Bank Will Remain Purely Palestinian Land - Jordan News

Safadi: Knesset Decision Legally Void; The West Bank Will Remain Purely Palestinian Land Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives, Ahmad Safadi, strongly condemned the proposal approved by the Israeli Knesset on Wednesday, which calls for imposing what is referred to as 'Israeli sovereignty' over the West Bank. اضافة اعلان Safadi asserted that the decision is legally void, violates international laws and resolutions, and constitutes a blatant infringement on the rights of the Palestinian people. He emphasized that it also breaches the Jordanian-Israeli peace treaty, stressing that the West Bank will remain purely Palestinian land despite the schemes of Israeli extremists. In a statement issued by the House of Representatives, Safadi described the Knesset's decision as a prelude to the displacement of the Palestinian people—an outcome that neither Jordan nor the Palestinian people, who remain steadfast in their land and committed to their independent state on their national soil, will ever accept. He added that these Israeli measures represent a flagrant breach of the peace treaty and threaten both regional and global stability and security. Safadi reaffirmed that Jordan, which has long championed peace and believed in it, remains committed to international legitimacy and resolutions that guarantee Palestinian rights. He called for more effective and genuine international action to push forward the two-state solution, end the war on Gaza, and ensure the immediate entry of humanitarian aid into the besieged Strip, which is enduring some of the most horrific acts of violence and starvation in modern history. He also praised the ongoing efforts of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) in delivering aid to Gaza—most recently through convoys that entered the Strip today. He likewise acknowledged the JHCO's aid to Syrian communities, as announced today, in light of the recent distressing events in southern Syria. – (Petra)
