After Scott McGlynn appeared in the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special as part of Smithy's stag do, people praised him. But he didn't realise he would get begged to do something over and over again
The Gavin and Stacey Christmas special excited fans everywhere, but nobody was more pumped than 38-year-old Barry native Scott McGlynn. The influencer and LGBTQ+ activist explained he was an extra in the episode, and many people remember him as it was a "fun and cheeky" part of the show.

"I appeared in the Gavin and Stacey 2024 Christmas Special, playing James Corden's stag. It was a fun and cheeky part of the episode that a lot of people remember. Being from Barry myself, it was surreal to step onto that set. Growing up, I had always seen them filming, and that sparked me to get into acting.

"What made it even more personal was that my dad, who I sadly lost last year, was a huge fan of the show and a Barry boy. So filming it felt like a tribute to him, in a way," Scott explained.

But since he appeared in the Christmas special episode, fans have been begging him to do one thing for them.
Scott explained: "Since the episode aired, I've had so many unexpected but hilarious DMs, emails, and messages from fans asking me to come on their actual stag dos!

"It's become a bit of a thing, people saying, 'Imagine having Smithy's stag at my stag!' I've had invites to go to Blackpool, Cardiff, Benidorm, and Portugal. It's amazing that people want me there. I have been told I have to wear the West Ham football top.
"It was my first time ever being part of a stag do, which was on TV, and now suddenly I'm being asked to be the life of the party for real. It's been a lot of fun seeing how much people connected with it, and it's definitely made me feel like one of the lads!"
He said the requests have been "non-stop" and he'd really "love" to be part of someone's stag do, saying he's considering it for the future.

"People are genuinely keen to have me there as part of the stag," he shared, admitting some people have said that they'll pay for his flights and hotel if he goes along.
Scott continued: "A few have said they want me to make a surprise entrance, give a speech, or just be one of the lads for the night. One even said, 'We'll get you your own sash that says 'Smithy's Stag!'
"I think it's all just about the fun of it, recreating that moment from the show and making some unforgettable memories before their big day."
He gushed: "I'm so grateful for the response from fans. It's been amazing to bring a bit of joy and fun to their lives. I'm always up for new experiences, whether that's stepping into a TV role or joining a fan's stag do abroad. Life's about saying yes to moments that surprise you, and I'm definitely ready for whatever comes next."

Chloe Kelly's husband left speechless as Lionesses hero sends him telling message

Chloe Kelly delivered again when it mattered most for England's Lionesses by scoring the winning penalty in the Euro 2025 final against Spain, with husband Scott watching on in awe England women's star Chloe Kelly left her husband "speechless" with her heroic performance in the Euro 2025 final, before responding with a heart-warming message. The Lionesses retained their Euros title after beating Spain in a gripping final in Basel, Switzerland, on Sunday. ‌ Alessia Russo cancelled out Mariona Caldentey's 25th-minute header in the second half, with the game finishing 1-1 after 90 minutes. Spain, who beat England in the 2023 Women's World Cup final, were the better team in extra-time but couldn't break down England's defence, which took the game to a nail-biting penalty shootout. ‌ Kelly, 27, had already delivered the cross to set up Russo's equaliser. And despite Beth Mead's miss initially giving Spain the advantage on penalties, the Arsenal forward showed nerves of steel to fire in the winning penalty for Sarina Wiegman 's side and complete a spectacular shootout comeback - three years on from her iconic winner in the Euro 2022 final. ‌ Supporting her every kick during the blockbuster clash and the tournament as a whole was her husband, Scott Moore. While Scott's Instagram account is private, Chloe reposted his proud tribute on her own story after the match. He uploaded a photo of the couple together after the final where she posed with her arm around his shoulder, alongside the caption: 'Speechless once again,' and two silver heart emojis. She wrote below Scott's picture and words: 'I'm so grateful to have you by my side.' Chloe married Scott, a groundsman and greenkeeper, in 2024 after five years of dating. They met while she was playing for Everton and he was a groundsman at the club, according to Hello. It was a small act of kindness from the star that caught Scott's attention, with Kelly sparking the connection after graciously holding a door open for him at the club. He is said to have later messaged her on Instagram and the pair arranged their very first date - a trip to IKEA. They tied the knot at Merrydale Manor in Cheshire last summer. Scott had proposed to Chloe during their trip to Finland, under the Northern Lights, shortly before Christmas in 2023. ‌ Chloe didn't hesitate to agree to marry her long-time partner, and when she posted on Instagram about the proposal, she captioned the image: "The easiest YES. Here's to forever with you." Scott now works as a greenkeeper for a golf club. Although he usually stays out of the spotlight, he always attends his wife's important fixtures, making sure to cheer her on, as he did during Sunday's final. ‌ Kelly explained during the build-up to the Euros showpiece that Moore was in Switzerland along with the rest of her relatives. "He's my best friend," she said. "So it's great to have the support of him, my dad and brother... and it's nice that we get to spend some time together.' Their anniversary took place during the tournament this year but she admitted she had been so focused on taking the Euros trophy home again that their celebrations had taken a halt. Kelly said: "I haven't even got a card, to be honest. I'm sure in the moment, I'll think of something and get my mum to sort it... I'm sure Scott has, but I definitely haven't." England fan, 8, left Ian Wright in stitches with response to Alex Scott question

England will be looking to win a second straight Euros title when they face Spain in the final on Sunday, with one young Lioness fan guaranteed to be tuning in England supporters are buzzing with anticipation for Sunday's Euro 2025 final against Spain, hoping to replicate the joy of three years ago. BBC pundits Ian Wright and Alex Scott couldn't contain their laughter when young fan Tess stole the show during the previous tournament's closing stages. ‌ Tess was just eight years old when she became a viral hit with her jubilant dancing in the stands. The performance even earned her a personal shout-out and a present from her hero, Alessia Russo. ‌ Tess, who is now 11 and playing in the Doncaster Belles academy, was caught on camera grooving to 'Sweet Caroline' as the Lionesses demolished Sweden 4-0 at Bramall Lane during Euro 2022. Her infectious energy landed her on BBC Breakfast and live during the coverage of the semi-final between Germany and France. ‌ The enthusiastic supporter scored tickets to the final and even earned a pass into the BBC broadcast studio. There, she was joined by Wright, Scott, Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall and host Gabby Logan, while commentator Jonathan Pearce was left in tears over the incident. Logan had a special treat for Tess as she asked her: "I know Russo's a big fan of yours, well you're a big fan of hers, she probably is a big fan of yours. Do you still think she could be the difference today?" Russo was still a Manchester United player but has since made the jump to Arsenal, where she won the Champions League this season. And Tess was full of confidence as she responded: "Yeah. I feel like she could do a lot of things to help our team." Logan went on: "Yeah she's been doing brilliantly, hasn't she? Actually, speaking of her, I've got a little message for you. Just have a little look over there will you." The broadcast then switched to a pre-recorded message from Russo, aimed at devoted fan Tess. The England striker said: "Hi, Tess, it's Alessia here. Just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your support this summer. ‌ "We've loved hearing you on the TV and on Twitter. So much so I'd like to give you this shirt just to say thank you. I hope you love it, and we hope to see you soon." Tess was stunned as Logan handed her a jersey featuring Russo's name and number. England icon Scott then questioned the passionate supporter about whether she'd be displaying her dance moves once more for England. ‌ "I'm a huge fan and I'm a huge fan of your dancing as well," said Scott to their in-studio guest. "Are we going to see more of that today?" Tess replied with gusto as she said: "Yes, definitely!" Her response left both Wright and Scott in fits of laughter. Before the game, Tess radiated optimism as she a: "I'ddedm feeling very positive, and I feel like we can win this match." When pressed for a forecast, she predicted Sarina Wiegman's side would triumph: "Well, I think 3-2, but at the same time I just hope we win it." ‌ The final score may not have been spot on, but Tess got her wish as England triumphed over Germany 2-1 in extra time. Chloe Kelly's decisive goal in the 110th minute clinched the first major title for England's women, and they're now setting their sights on retaining the title in Switzerland. Kelly was instrumental in keeping England's title dreams alive, netting another crucial extra-time goal to secure a 2-1 victory over Italy in the semi-finals. However, they'll be counting on the support of their fans once more if they're to overcome the current world champions, Spain, this Sunday. Chloe Kelly had first date with husband at IKEA after simple act of kindness sparked love

Lioness star Chloe Kelly met her husband in passing when a small act of kindness sparked a connection - and the pair shared their first date at IKEA The Lionesses are poised to take on the world champs, Spain, in the UEFA Women's Euro Final 2025 - and Chloe Kelly's husband will likely be supporting her every step of the way through the big game. ‌ The final, which is taking place in Basel, Switzerland, comes after two nail-biting last-minute wins from the England Women's team in the quarter and semi finals. ‌ Chloe, 27, who secured England's win at the Euro 2022 tournament with the winning goal, has been with her husband Scott Moore for a long time - but when the pair first crossed paths, it was a small act of kindness from the star player that caught Scott's attention. ‌ Chloe Kelly admits 'I haven't bought a wedding anniversary card' amid Euro focus Michelle Agyemang's journey from ball girl to England hero with 'world at her feet' She was playing for Everton when she first met Scott - who was, at the time, a groundsman at the club, Hello reports. Chloe graciously held a door open for Scott at the club, and a connection quickly sparked. He is said to have later messaged her on Instagram and the pair arranged their very first date - a trip to IKEA. ‌ While the Swedish furniture retailer might not immediately seem like a romantic spot to go on a first date - although lots of people do swear by the meatballs - the shopping trip clearly worked its magic, and the couple have been together ever since. In 2023, Scott popped the big question to Chloe while they were on a trip to Finland, to see the Northern Lights - a much more traditionally romantic setting. Under the green skies of the aurora, Chloe didn't hesitate to agree to marry her long-time partner, and when she posted on Instagram about the proposal, she captioned the image: "The easiest YES. Here's to forever with you." ‌ Scott now works as a greenkeeper for a golf club, and while he generally stays out of the spotlight, he always attends his wife's important fixtures - making sure to cheer her on The pair tied the knot at Merrydale Manor in Cheshire in 2024, after being together for five years. ‌ Chloe wore a stunning, figure-hugging bridal gown by Galia Lahav - with a dramatic train offsetting the fitted style of dress that was embellished with intricate lace embroidery. "Creating Chloe's dress was a labour of love, capturing her vibrant spirit and timeless beauty," the designer, Sharon Sever, said, per The Sun. During the major tournament this year, Scott and Chloe's anniversary took place, but the footplayer admitted she had been so busy with the Lioness's campaign to take home the trophy again this year that celebrating one year as husband and wife had slipped her mind. "I haven't even got a card, to be honest," Chloe said, "I'm sure in the moment, I'll think of something nd get my mum to sort it."
