Celebrity Xcel to have a cooler pool and a game room for grownups
The pool experience, which the line is calling the Celebrity Pool Club, will include attendants at the Xcel's primary pool deck who will offer chilled towels, sunscreen and other poolside items, and dedicated storage space for personal belongings. The pool will also have more shade than other Celebrity ships, the line said.
The poolside cabanas will be "enhanced" for guests who, Celebrity said, "choose to go VIP for the day."
An all-day party on the final day of the Caribbean sailings called Poolest Day Ever will include music, pop-up shows, pool games and drinks. Celebrity is also introducing the party to the rest of its fleet during Caribbean sailings this year.
The Xcel's game lounge for grownups
The game lounge will be called Attic at The Club and will offer arcade games, billiards, darts, shuffleboard and foosball. Private spaces for group activities like golf simulators and karaoke will also be available to book.
Celebrity said Attic was designed with adults in mind but will be open to all ages.
The ship will also have what Celebrity said is the fleet's largest spa, with features like a Hydra Room, a pool with heated lounge chairs and jets, and a sundeck, dubbed the Vitamin D Deck, which will only be available to guests booking the spa's thermal suite.
Another new space on the Xcel will be the Celebrity Flagship store, which will serve as both a gift shop and an interactive exhibition space with Celebrity trivia and artifacts.
Other previously announced venues aboard Celebrity Xcel include a specialty brunch restaurant and the Bazaar, which will host crafts, festivals and entertainment that pay homage to the destinations the ship visits.

Around 2011, burned out from his corporate photography job, Theron Humphrey hatched an idea to travel the country, interview people and take their portraits in all 50 states. He quit his job, crowdfunded $16,000 and prepared to hit the road for a year in his 1994 Toyota pickup truck. But there was one thing missing from his travel plans: a dog. Mr. Humphrey, who was 28 at the time, had never owned a dog, but growing up in the South, hounds were always around. He typed 'coonhound' into an online registry of adoptable pets, and an image of a caramel and white spotted dog with squinty eyes was the first result. 'I was like, 'Oh my gosh. She looks like a little deer.' I loved her speckles,' said Mr. Humphrey, who is now 42. 'That same day, I drove to the animal shelter, and I went to see her, and I left with a dog. I had no idea what I was doing.' In the years that followed, Mr. Humphrey crisscrossed the country and snapped tens of thousands of photos of Maddie, the coonhound he adopted that day. We're lucky to have several options scattered throughout our arrondissement, but this quaint jardin (garden), just minutes from Le Bon Marché, has become a regular escape for our family. Tucked off Rue de Babylone, it's easy to miss if you don't know it's there—but step inside and you'll find a well-maintained playground, a green space for lounging, and benches situated beneath leafy vines, ideal for reading. With cozy reading nooks in a newly renovated space, this bookshop is also home to La Maison des Histoires, an interactive musée jouer (play museum) inspired by classic children's books designed with young kids in mind. While the restaurant itself is quite intimate, it accepts reservations and opens for dinner service at 6 p.m.—much earlier than many other Parisian establishments. When it comes to brunch in Paris, HolyBelly is a family-run favorite, best known for its seriously good pancakes in the 10th arrondissement. While we don't make it here as often as our little ones (or we) would like, we recently hopped on the metro for a weekend visit—and it's always well worth the trip. HolyBelly doesn't take reservations, so it's best to plan ahead. On weekends, we aim to get there right at opening (9 a.m.) to beat the crowd, while weekdays are typically more relaxed. If there happens to be a line, it tends to move quickly. One unexpected perk: The lively environment easily absorbs toddler chaos, so there's no need to stress about noise here. Delicious treats from Plaq. Maddy Odom/Travel + Leisure Hot chocolate is another beloved Parisian specialty, with iconic spots like Angelina, Carette, and Les Deux Magots earning reputations for some of the best cups in town. But Plaq offers a distinctly different experience. With their bean-to-bar philosophy, they oversee every step of the process, from sourcing the cocoa beans to crafting each final creation. They now have two locations in Paris, including their newest outpost on Rue du Cherche-Midi. There, you'll find an exciting selection of treats, including their signature chocolate bars, seasonal specialties like ice cream in the warmer months, or a personal favorite: hot chocolate topped with chantilly when the weather turns cold.
