Khan's complaint had prompted the Kolkata police to arrest Pune-based law student.
Khan has been booked under BNS Sections 196(1)(a) (promoting enmity between different groups), 299 (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage the religious feelings of any class of citizens), 352 (intentional insult with the intent to provoke a breach of peace), and 353(1)(c) (statements that incite public mischief).
Following Sharmistha Panoli's arrest late last month, at least five complaints were filed against Khan (30), across West Bengal, for allegedly promoting hate speech and hurting religious sentiments.
Panoli was released following a Calcutta high court order. She was granted interim bail in the alleged hate speech case by on June 5 after the police arrested her on May 30 from Gurugram.

‘Blood Covenant': Iranian crowdfunding website claims to have raised $40 million to assassinate Trump; ‘call to Jihad' say analysts
Donald Trump (AP) A crowdfunding campaign that promised $40 million for the assassination of US President Donald Trump was linked to a former employee of Iran's main state-run propaganda outlet. The campaign was reportedly organised by a group called 'Blood Covenant,' which pledged to bring 'justice' for actions committed by 'militants.' According to the US-based think tank Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), the group allegedly operated under the 'aegis of the Iranian regime,' as reported by the New York Post. 'We pledge to award the prize to whoever can bring the militants and those who threaten the life of the Deputy of Imam Mahdi (may our souls be sacrificed for him) to justice for their actions,' the group had posted on its website. MEMRI described the campaign as 'a call to jihad, inviting believers to donate their money and sacrifice their lives.' It added, 'The fact that these calls to assassinate Trump were coming from above and echoed in the street and through all strata of society, including in the Iranian media… reflected a broad religious and regime consensus strengthened by reiterated emphasis on the reward anyone carrying out the punishment against Trump could expect to receive — in addition to the $40.3 million, also Paradise and the status of a defender of Islam. A senior US State Department official said on Friday that the administration was aware of the threats and remained committed to holding 'bad actors accountable,' according to the Washington Free Beacon. 'This means using every tool at our disposal, including sanctions, to implement the president's maximum pressure strategy,' the official added. The development came after Iran's top Shiite religious authority issued a 'fatwa' or religious decree last month against Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The fatwa, declared by Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi, called on Muslims to bring down both leaders for allegedly threatening the leadership of the Islamic Republic. The decree labelled any individual or institution that threatened the unity and leadership of the global Islamic community as 'mohareb' or 'warlord', someone waging war against God or regarded as an 'enemy of God.'

3 dead as UP roadways bus on wrong side crushes autorickshaw
Bulandshahr: Two women and a four-year-old girl were crushed to death after a speeding UP roadways bus on the wrong side hit an auto-rickshaw on NH-334 in Bulandshahr on Sunday. A man was critically injured. Police said the incident took place around 1:30 pm near Jainpur on NH-334 -- connecting Bulandshahr with Haridwar. "The UP roadways bus was en route to Sitapur. It was on the wrong side of the highway at the time of the incident. The bus driver managed to flee, and the vehicle was seized," circle officer Bhaskar Mishra said. "The place where the accident took place comes under Gulaothi police limits. Soon after the distress call, police rushed to the site. An FIR under BNS sections of rash driving and causing death due to negligence was registered against the bus driver on the complaint from the victim's family. Case filed after glass shards found strewn on road in East Delhi, part of Kanwar route
A case was registered after glass shards were found strewn on a road in East Delhi, which is part of the Kanwar route, said police. The action came after Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena shared a video showing pieces of broken glass spread on the road. 'It came to notice yesterday night that a large amount of shards of broken glass had been strewn on a stretch of about one km of road in Dilshad Garden, on the route of Kaanwar Yatris, who walk barefoot,' the L-G wrote on X. 'Instructed police to reach the spot and directed PWD (Public Works Department) to immediately take corrective measures to clean the road. The road was cleaned within two hours by the PWD. Police have filed an FIR. The Crime Branch is investigating the matter,' he added. Giving more details of the incident, Prashant Gautam, DCP, Shahdara, said, 'An e-rickshaw was carrying some material from Shalimar Garden, UP, to Seelampur. The glass material broke midway. The e-rickshaw driver, Kusum Pal, was brought to the police station. The claims of the driver are being verified.' The e-rickshaw was allegedly hit from behind, leading to the incident, police said. There is no communal angle to the incident, officers added. According to the police, they were informed of the incident when a video was shared by the SDM Seemapuri at 6:25 pm on Saturday. Upon inquiry, it was found that this video was uploaded by Piyush, a resident of Nand Nagari.
