Former Man Utd star, 53, looks unrecognisable as he reunites with two Treble-winning former team-mates

MANCHESTER UNITED Treble winners Jaap Stam and Wes Brown reunited with an unrecognisable former Red Devils star.
Legendary defender Stam shared a picture of the trio posing with the Treble trophies to his Instagram page.

The Dutchman, 52, captioned his post: "Great to meet up again with these two great personalities to share thoughts about the future and dwell on the past!"
Stam was an integral part of Man Utd's Treble-winning campaign, playing 51 games in all competitions as Sir Alex Ferguson 's side became the first ever English club to lift the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup all in the same season.
Brown, 45, had only recently broken through from the academy at Old Trafford, but played 21 games in the Treble campaign, before going on to become a mainstay at the club until 2011.
However, the third member of their party, now 53, looks completely different to his playing days with Man Utd.
The former winger used to be instantly recognisable with his flowing long hair and clean-shaven look.
He signed for the club in a deal worth £3.5million immediately following a stellar tournament for Czechia at Euro 1996, where the country finished as runners-up to Germany.
However, the growing prominence of the Class of '92's David Beckham in his position meant he became more and more sidelined.
Overall, he stayed in England for one and a half seasons, leaving to sign for Benfica in December 1997 after making 48 appearances and scoring six goals.
The name of the star in question... Karel Poborsky.
For his reunion with Stam and Brown, he had ditched his long locks for a shorter cut with noticeably darker hair.

He has also added some facial hair to his face, and he was also seen wearing some shades.
Poborsky never won the Treble with Man Utd, but did leave with a Premier League winners' medal for the 1996/97 season.
After leaving Man Utd, he stayed with Benfica until 2000 before starring for Lazio, Sparta Prague and Dynamo České Budějovice and retiring in 2007.
He also earned 118 caps for his national team and is ranked second behind Chelsea icon and goalkeeper Petr Cech for most appearances for the Czech national team.
Poborsky is perhaps most well-remembered for his stunning chip goal at Euro 1996 against Portugal.
Since retiring, he has taken up punditry work and has appeared on Canal+ Sport in his homeland while also appearing in the odd charity game, including the Man Utd Legends of the North game in 2022.

The reason Man Utd and Newcastle target Benjamin Sesko is out of RB Leipzig game

Manchester United and Newcastle transfer target Benjamin Sesko has not been included in RB Leipzig's squad for Saturday's friendly against Atalanta. The 22-year-old's future is the subject of intense speculation with the Magpies having tabled a bid amid reports he has taken the decision to move to St James' Park. Earlier this week it had been reported that the Slovenia international had his heart set on a switch to Old Trafford and it remains to be seen whether or not United table a rival offer. Sesko had been due to play a part in Leipzig's game in Bergomo this afternoon but has been omitted, according to Sky Germany, so not to jeopardies a transfer. The striker is said to have already said goodbye to his teammates despite his eventual destination remaining up in the air. James Whale says goodbye as he records final ever podcast from a hospice: ‘Thank you for being a listener'

James Whale has recorded his final ever podcast from a hospice with his wife, as he thanked fans for listening. The 74-year-old, who has been living with stage four kidney cancer for the past five years, said a farewell to fans in a heart-breaking clip shared on TalkTV on Friday (1 August). Speaking with his wife Nadine Lamont-Brown, Mr Whale said: 'We've had a good time together haven't we?' to which she replied 'the best'. He said: 'Thank you for being a listener. I hope it helps in some way and who knows what's next, so I can only say au revoir.' Mr Whale, who has been a fixture of British radio and TV for five decades, announced in May that he had stopped his treatment and was 'at the end of his cancer journey'.

Roger Daltrey accuses Zak Starkey of ‘character assassination'

Roger Daltrey, the frontman of The Who, says that comments made by axed drummer Zak Starkey after leaving the band were "incredibly upsetting" and a "character assassination". Starkey, the son of Ringo Starr, was dismissed from the band twice, with conflicting accounts regarding the reasons for his departure, including a disputed onstage error. Daltrey said that the dispute stemmed from issues with electronic drum sound affecting his in-ear monitors, not a direct criticism of Starkey's playing. Daltrey said that he and Pete Townshend are the core of The Who, viewing other members as "session players". Starkey, who was replaced by Scott Devours, has said that The Who is unpredictable and has an "addiction to friction".
