The future of
Giannis Antetokounmpo
with the Milwaukee Bucks is still the subject of trade rumours. However, Doc Rivers has already created his grand strategy for the upcoming season. It appears that he doesn't care about the rumours that connected the NBA legend to New York or Houston.
He talked about his plans for the NBA icon during a recent appearance.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
to lead as
point guard
next season, says Doc Rivers amid trade speculation
The
Milwaukee Bucks
have made several significant moves in recent weeks, but one of their most significant moves might be an inside one. They cut and stretched Damian Lillard to sign Myles Turner to a four-year, $107 million deal.
Additionally, Giannis Antetokounmpo's continuing presence was ensured by these deals. It also reportedly moved the team closer to contention.
Doc Rivers
appeared on a recent NBATV broadcast at the Vegas Summer League and discussed his plans for the Milwaukee Bucks star's future.
He also stated that he made a drastic choice after
Damian Lillard
's injury the previous season. He made the Greek Freak the main ball handler for the team by giving Giannis Antetokounmpo the point guard responsibilities.
The team was reportedly taken aback by the move. He further acknowledges that when he came up with the idea, his coaching staff questioned his sanity. He stated:
'The second half of the year, when I put the ball in Giannis' hands, we did it by default.

I'd love to say, I'm this genius and I thought, 'Hey let's play Giannis at the point guard spot'.'
He then revealed:
'When I brought it up with our coaches, they thought I had lost my mind. When I brought it up with Giannis, he thought I had lost my mind.'

He further admitted that the plan reportedly wasn't well thought out. However, this is probably the reason why the Milwaukee Bucks were able to start the postseason as the fifth seed in the
Eastern Conference
, despite Damian Lillard's injury forcing his hand.
Then, further explaining his plan for the
NBA legend
, he said:
'Nobody's pressuring Giannis. So it allowed us, even against Indiana, to bring up the ball pressure free.'
The tactic has a chain effect. Due to this decision, the Milwaukee Bucks' shooters can get clean shots because Giannis Antetokounmpo attracts defensive attention.

Caitlin Clark's BFF's plea to fans throwing adult toys on court: 'Going to hurt us'

The Friday night game between Chicago Sky and Golden State Valkyries saw an untoward object being thrown onto the basketball court. Indiana Fever's Sophie Cunningham, Caitlin Clark's reported BFF, took to X to address the issue of sex toys being thrown on basketball courts. (AP) The WNBA game had to be stopped so the referee could remove the sex toy that someone had chucked on the court during the game. Viewer discretion advised; NSFW video ahead. What does the video show? The clip shows a green item being thrown on court during the game. When the referee goes to check it, one can see it is a sex toy, particularly a dildo. The item is removed from the court and an attendant picks it up, wrapped in a cloth, to allow the game to continue. Also Read | Who is Michael Lewis? How WNBA star Sophie Cunningham reacted Indiana Fever's Sophie Cunningham took to X to address the issue, saying 'stop throwing dildos on the court… you're going to hurt one of us.' Cunningham, herself, has meanwhile been in the news and not all of it has been for her actions on the court. Recently, before Fever's game against Chicago Sky, Cunningham sported a 'Hot Girls Eat Arby's' tee-shirt, and later announced on Instagram that she was partnering with the fast food chain. During the Chicago vs Indiana game, Cunningham also seemingly lost her balance and fell on a cameraman who was sitting courtside. Videos of the fall began to circulate online with the caption saying 'Cunningham sat on the cameraman's face'. In the clip, Cunningham can be seen trying to throw the ball, while running backwards, and the momentum makes her lose her balance, so she almost sits on what appears to be a cameraman's face on the side of the court. However, the Fever player who is Caitlin Clark's reported BFF, immediately realizes the situation and picks herself up to continue the game.

Steph Curry says NBA players are 'underpaid' amid Micah Parsons-Cowboys trade buzz

WNBA players recently took a massive step towards pay parity by wearing t-shirts reading 'Pay Us What You Owe Us' during All-Star weekend ahead of the July 19 game. Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry has now chimed in on the debate during a recent appearance on the '360 with Speedy' podcast, where he suggested that NBA players' salaries are not in line with the value they add to the team. Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry listens during a news conference(AP) Stephen Curry pitches better salaries for the NBA Curry is set to take home $59.6 million in salary this season, as reported by beIN SPORTS. However, he still feels the figure falls short of the value he and many other underpaid players add to their respective teams. "I think, because of the way the CBA is structured right now, we can't participate in equity. And that's a big deal because it is a partnership with ownership. It's a partnership with the league, and we're on the short term of the revenue,' Curry said on the podcast. He then went on to explain his point by adding, 'Those (contract) numbers sound crazy, but what the league is doing, from whatever era you want to compare it to, to now, is probably 10x that. The idea that we can't participate in equity while we're playing is part of why I would say yes, we are underpaid, because we want to be able to participate in that rise.' 'Hopefully, sooner than later, those rules change a little bit so that players can participate in the upside of team equity, the league, valuations, and all that type of stuff. Just because I think we deserve it.' Where do NBA players stand in the athletes' pay ranks? When asked by host Speedy Morman if online figures suggesting his net worth stood at $240 million were true, he swiftly changed the topic by saying that he wasn't sure and didn't care about it. Although Forbes counts NBA players as some of the highest-earning athletes, Curry still feels there is room for improvement and believes that players' salaries haven't increased at the same pace as the league and teams' evaluations have over the years. Given the existing discourse on paying WNBA players at the same level as their male counterparts, Curry's views add a new dimension to this debate. Posted by Stuti Gupta
