
Sheikh Joaan attends What Gravity Challenge
resident of the Qatar Olympic Committee HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani attended part of the competitions of the second edition of What Gravity Challenge, held at the Katara Amphitheater on Friday.
The event featured a stellar lineup of world and Olympic high jump champions, including several Olympic medalists such as Shelby McEwen and Hamish Kerr. For the first time, the championship also welcomed some of the sport's leading women athletes, including Ukrainian world record holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh, Australia's Eleanor Patterson, and Germany's Christina Honsel.
The event was also attended by Secretary-General of the Qatar Olympic Committee Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain; President of the Asian Athletics Association Dahlan Al Hamad; President of the Qatar Athletics Federation Mohammed Issa Al Fadala; and General Manager of Katara Cultural Village Dr Khalid Al Sulaiti, along with a number of prominent sports figures.

Fury ready for comeback, eyes Usyk rematch

The Qatari beach volleyball duo of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan booked their place in the Round of 12 at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Gstaad Elite16 in Switzerland on Thursday. They beat Norway's Henrik Nicolai Mol and Mattias Berntsen 21-19, 21-17 in a thrilling Pool C encounter. The victory for the world No. 7 pair follows their opening match triumph against Portugal's Hugo Campos and Joao Pedrosa in a hard-fought three-set battle. Qatar's beach volleyball stars Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan kicked off their Gstaad Elite16 campaign with a gritty win in Switzerland, overcoming Portugal's Hugo Campos and Joao Pedrosa in a thrilling three-set battle. The former Olympic bronze medallists held their nerve in the decider to seal a 2-1 (21-18, 23-25, 15-11) victory and make a strong start in Group C of the Beach Pro Tour event.
