Former Patrick Mahomes teammate makes admission on Tom Brady
Former Kansas City Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu gave an honest response when asked if he believed quarterback Patrick Mahomes was the greatest of all time.
While he does think the three-time Super Bowl champion is closing in on that title, he isn't ready to put him ahead of former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
"I would say he's a great quarterback, but greatest of all time, I think that's still reserved for Brady," Mathieu said on Up & Adams. "And I think with Brady, that's just longevity. That's respect. That's just playing against this guy on the biggest stages. He was one of the most competitive, accurate. He just had a single mindset to win—win by any means necessary. He was always a challenge to go up against. Being the greatest of all time, I don't think it's like an eight, nine, 10-year thing."
Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback, has beaten Mahomes twice in the postseason—once in the 2018 AFC Championship Game and once more at Super Bowl LV. He also won a Super Bowl with two different football teams after leaving the Patriots for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020.
Mahomes is still only 29 years old and not completely out of the race. Mathieu acknowledged his former teammate might one day go down as the greatest of all time if he stays on his current trajectory.
But that's a big hill to climb in a league where teams improve every year.

Falcons Recap: Rookie gets in practice brawl, Raheem Morris goes viral
In our latest recap, Kaleb McGary gets an extension, James Pearce Jr. gets in a practice brawl, and Raheem Morris' fall goes viral. The Atlanta Falcons held their sixth open practice on Monday morning, and fans got to see the team's full slate of rookies. First-round pick Jalon Walker and third-rounder Xavier Watts returned after being restricted to individual drills over the last few days. In today's Falcons news recap, Michael Penix Jr. is compared to Super Bowl quarterback Matthew Stafford, right tackle Kaleb McGary gets a contract extension, and rookie James Pearce Jr. gets in another practice brawl. Rookie James Pearce Jr. in another practice scuffle Pearce has done a good job of getting under the skin of Atlanta's offensive line throughout training camp. The rookie was involved in two practice skirmishes last week. On Monday, Pearce was in the middle of another practice scuffle. Head coach Raheem Morris took the rookie out for the next rep to cool down. "James Pearce Jr in the middle of it," wrote 11Alive News reporter Maria Martin. "Raheem Morris got in his face after. Tyrone Wheatley and JPJ chirping at each other for a while after. [It] looked like JPJ grabbed a face mask at some point. He was taken out of the next rep." Falcons OC thinks Penix has Stafford-like traits Penix has one of the strongest arms in the league, and it was on display during a rainy Monday practice. Offensive coordinator Zac Robinson told NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolfe that Penix reminds him of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. "I talked to their offensive coordinator, Zac Robinson," said Wolfe. "Robinson was with Matt Stafford with the Rams. He said '[Penix] processes like Matthew Stafford.'" Kaleb McGary signs two-year extension After losing Drew Dalman in free agency, the Falcons weren't about to let right tackle Kaleb McGary get away so easily. The team signed the former first-round pick to a two-year, $30 million extension on Monday afternoon. McGary has been durable for Atlanta, starting 92 games over the last six seasons. The extension is also good news for left-handed quarterback Michael Penix Jr. since his blind-side protector is locked up through 2027. Raheem Morris' fall vs. Drake London goes viral Morris knows how to fire up his team, but he may regret his latest tactic. During Monday's practice, the second-year Falcons head coach took a rep against wide receiver Drake London and it went south fast. Morris attempted to press London at the line of scrimmage but was quickly disposed of by the former first-round pick. Watch the viral clip below. Falcons camp highlights: Best of Monday's practice

Watch: Patriots rookie makes play of the day after quiet training camp
New England Patriots wide receiver Efton Chism III put an end to a thus-far quiet training camp with a diving touchdown catch at Monday's practice. The undrafted rookie's immediate rise in the receivers' room was one of the biggest talking points over the spring. However, things have been eerily silent on the Chism front ever since the start of training camp. He has quickly gone from being a dark horse many predicted to make the team to being left off most 53-man roster projections. With that said, there is still plenty of training camp left to go, and Chism finally made his mark on a beautiful touchdown reception down the right sideline on a pass play from quarterback Joshua Dobbs. It isn't out of the realm of possibility that the Patriots could keep six or even seven receivers on their final roster. Those extra spots being open could mean an opportunity for Chism to make the team. But Chism will need to give the team a reason to keep him around. His reliable hands and speed getting in and out of his routes are reminiscent of past Patriots greats, like Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman. We'll see if it translates to game action when the Patriots go head-to-head with the Washington Commanders in Friday's preseason opener. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.
