Liam Neeson On His Sex Scenes With Pamela Anderson In The Naked Gun

Buzz Feed5 days ago
Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson may be looking loved-up on the red carpet today, but their chemistry goes right back to the set of their new movie, The Naked Gun.
The film is a reboot of the beloved 1980s and 1990s crime comedies, and Liam is starring as Detective Frank Drebin Jr., the son of Leslie Nielsen's character in the originals. Pamela, on the other hand, plays a woman named Beth Davenport, with whom Frank becomes involved.
The Naked Gun already being hailed as 'the funniest movie of the year' ahead of its release on Aug. 1. And if it wasn't already obvious, it sounds like Liam and Pamela had a whole lot of fun making the movie — so much so, in fact, it may have even led to an offscreen romance, but more on that later.
Appearing on The Late Show on Wednesday, Liam was asked by host Stephen Colbert about some of the movie's more intimate moments, including a scene where we see his bare ass — or what we're supposed to believe is his bare ass.
'I wish I could say it was mine. It's not. It's in the contract,' the 73-year-old joked, clarifying that a 'stunt' butt was used.
For context, The Naked Gun was Liam and Pamela's first time working together. And it also happened to be Liam's first time using an intimacy coordinator to oversee his and Pam's spicy sex scene: an 'unexpected' threesome.
'[It was] a little bit strange,' Liam said, describing his first ever experience with an intimacy coordinator. 'You know? Pamela and I knew [what to do].'
Hilariously, Stephen asked if Liam was as familiar with inviting a third into the bedroom, to which he responded: 'That was a first. That had to be specifically choreographed.'
If one thing's for sure, Pamela and Liam have serious chemistry, which has only fueled interest in reports that the co-stars are enjoying a 'budding romance in the early stages.' 'It's sincere, and it's clear they're smitten with each other,' an insider told People this week, adding that they're loving each other's company.
And, you know what, we're loving it, too. You can watch Liam's Late Show interview here, and you can watch The Naked Gun in theaters from Aug. 1.

Why We're All So in Love With Pam and Liam

If rumors—and talk-show banter—are to be believed, former baywatcher Pamela Anderson is getting better acquainted with her co-star Liam Neeson's naked gun. The are-they-aren't-they couple have been seen holding hands, giggling like new lovebirds, and lip-balming on live TV, as reports of a true romance spread like wildfire across the internet. And while they are officially just 'enjoying each other's company' (that old chestnut!)—and romantically linking the leads in a film does admittedly feel a little 2007-movie-marketing—the notion of The Naked Gun leads actually dating is warming the cockles of our cynical hearts. Pamela, of course, has been having something of a renascence. The 2023 documentary Pamela, a Love Story helped to further unpeel the layers of her celebrity onion, delving into her playboy past (the magazine and the lovers) and her quasi-complicity as one of the most objectified women on the planet. She was a hypersexualized symbol of a very particular strand of femininity—enormous breasts, miniscule waist, skimpy outfits—underscoring yet another impossible beauty standard for women. And she was—is—both a victor and a victim of an overtly sexist era. I don't think her legacy will ever fully reconcile her self-representation with our ogling culture. How she looked at the time, and how we all looked at her, can never really be detangled. But New Pamela hits different, not so much de-sexed as re-sultry-ed. She's wearing '60s cocktail dresses and little lacy gloves, swapping platinum blonde for sophisticated platinum jewelry. She is in her Capote Swan era, dressing like a debutante who lunches at La Côte Basque. A woman fine-tuning her look is nothing new, but it's such a far cry from her red bikini-ed '90s heyday. There's something alarmingly refreshing about a woman who once had such a public-facing, over-inflated form looking great, and—dare I say it?—seemingly dressing for women more than men. And that's to say nothing of her taking off the layers of makeup, and concealing nothing about her 58-year-old visage. There's an overarching feeling like Pamela Anderson is out of fucks. After years of pursuing a manicured perfection, she finally feels at home in her own skin—and she's got a nice new beau. Life does not end at 58 (duh!), and though Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte are ending their onscreen tale of 50-somethings' love lives, Pam's is apparently only beginning.

Courteney Cox Recalls The Sweet ‘Friends' Ritual That Helped The Cast Connect

Although it's been more than 20 years since the iconic finale of aired, still fondly recalls the moments before filming each episode with her co-stars. The 61-year-old actress, best known for her role as Monica Geller, recently shared details about the behind-the-scenes camaraderie the cast had during the tapings of the beloved show, which aired in front of a live studio audience. Speaking at the Inc. 5000 event, Courteney Cox reminisced about the pre-show ritual that would get everyone energized before filming. Courteney Cox Recalls 'Friends' Cast Rituals 'We'd get in a huddle and we would say, 'Alright everybody! Good luck!' And we'd give each other a hug and a high five," Cox recalled, according to PEOPLE. Despite her usual tendency not to "pump herself up" for public appearances, she explained that the cast would share this bonding moment before stepping in front of the live audience, setting the tone for the episode. Opening Up About The Live Audience Energy Cox also described the unique dynamic of filming "Friends" in front of a live audience, noting how the energy of the crowd would sometimes overwhelm the show's laugh track. "The live audience loved watching the taping so much, and sometimes producers had to cut the laugh track early so we could continue," she said, adding that the cast knew exactly what would get big laughs from the audience, so they naturally played off it and let the moment unfold. The experience of filming "Friends" was distinct from the other scripted projects Cox has worked on since, including her role in the "Scream" franchise. ''Friends' was shot in front of a live audience, and that was a whole different thing,' she explained, reflecting on how things have changed since then. "Now, I do things that are filmed." Courteney Cox Reflects On Strong Bond With 'Friends' Cast The "Friends" ensemble, which included , , , , and the late created an unforgettable chemistry on screen, and Cox noted that their connection extends beyond the show. The cast has remained close over the years, and Cox shared how their bond is just as strong today. In 2021, Cox and the "Friends" cast reunited for the "Friends: The Reunion" special, which aired on HBO Max on May 27. LeBlanc told PEOPLE at the time that it felt like "no time had passed" when they all came together again. "We pick up right where we left off," he said, highlighting the strong bond they still share. Matthew Perry's tragic passing on October 28, 2023, from acute effects of ketamine was a somber moment for the cast and fans alike, but their friendship continues to be a significant part of their lives. Honoring Matthew Perry After His Tragic Passing Two weeks after Perry's death, Cox took to social media to break her silence and pay tribute to her late friend and co-star. "I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day," she wrote on Instagram at the time. "When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. For now here's one of my favorites." She shared a clip from "Friends" showing the moment Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Monica (Courteney Cox) got together in a hotel room on Ross's (David Schwimmer) wedding day. "To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one-night fling in London," the actress explained. "But because of the audience's reaction, it became the beginning of their love story." "In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say," she recalled. "He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind." Monica's Closet Comes to Life Cox's relationship with her "Friends" character, Monica Geller, is still a part of her daily life, as seen in a recent Instagram post. As The Blast reported, the actress took her 15 million followers on a quirky tour through her Malibu home, specifically through her coat closet. Much like her character Monica's infamous 'secret closet' from "Friends," which was packed with a mix of organized chaos, Cox's closet also revealed an eclectic mix of items, some more bizarre than others. 'I have masks of myself!' Cox laughed as she showed off a Ghostface mask popcorn bucket and several paper masks featuring her own face, a gift from her dog walker. Fans of "Friends" will recall the memorable scene from Season 6, "The One with the Secret Closet," where Monica's closet was a hidden space filled with clutter and disarray, a stark contrast to her typically organized and controlling personality. Cox's closet, while not as chaotic, echoed that same sense of playful, unexpected finds, much like the character she portrayed. Solve the daily Crossword

Donald Trump's newest CBS foe is 'no talent' Gayle King

Weeks after CBS announced the cancellation of Stephen Colbert's "Late Show," Donald Trump has ideas for the next program to axe. Responding to a New York Post article claiming Gayle King's "CBS Mornings" faces an uncertain future amid parent company Paramount's merger with Skydance Media, the president claimed the news host had "no talent." King, 70, has been with CBS for over a decade, after leaving longtime friend Oprah's OWN network. "Gayle King's career is over. She should have stayed with her belief in TRUMP," he wrote in a post to Truth Social. "She never had the courage to do so. No talent, no ratings, no strength!!!" The president's comments follow a major win for his administration. In late July, Paramount settled a lawsuit with Trump over a claim of deceptive editing he brought following a "60 Minutes" interview with his then-political rival Kamala Harris. In the settlement, the entertainment giant agreed to pay $16 million toward Trump's future presidential library. The settlement came as Paramount eagerly awaited a green light on an $8.4 billion merger with Skydance Media, which required approval from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission. The merger has since been approved, a move some critics characterized as a quid pro quo. Gayle King dishes on her SI Swimsuit cover, how bestie Oprah accommodates her needs Gayle King on 'disrespectful' space flight backlash, celebrity friends 'throwing shade' Now the president, seemingly emboldened by the settlement, is taking aim at one of CBS's most storied journalists. King is a staple on morning television, bringing both hard news acumen and a light-hearted flair to the day's first headlines. Rumors of a new vein of news judgment post-merger have also begun to swirl following the cancellation of Colbert's show, where the host frequently critiques Trump. While Paramount said the decision to pull the plug on the "Late Show" was purely financial, voices from in and outside the industry argued it was a sign of political acquiescence as the White House cracks down on dissenting voices.
