Indiana Fever release statement updating Caitlin Clark injury status

The Indiana Fever provided an important injury update for their star point guard on Thursday. Caitlin Clark has missed the last two regular-season games and the All-Star game with a right groin injury. It's the third different soft tissue injury Clark has dealt with this season, leading to her being in and out of the lineup all year long. Clark has already been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Las Vegas Aces, and the Fever provided an update on her injury and recovery process on Thursday. In a statement released on X, the Fever put out a highly-anticipated update on Clark's injury and the additional testing that happened earlier this week. "Caitlin Clark underwent further medical evaluations earlier this week, which confirmed that no additional injuries or damage were discovered. Clark will continue working with the medical team on her recovery and rehabilitation, with the priority on her long-term health and well-being. There is no timetable available for her return," the Fever's statement read. It's good and bad news for the star guard. It's great that the testing from earlier this week found no additional injuries. Now, the Fever and Clark know they're just dealing with that right groin injury and can put together a treatment and recovery plan based on that. The bad news is that there is still no timetable for Clark's return as of now. While this isn't surprising news, as that treatment plan is probably still being worked on, it's unfortunate for the rest of the team and the fans that Clark's return timeline is still up in the air. The most important thing for Clark and the Fever is her long-term health, as mentioned in the statement released by the team. If keeping her out of game action for a while ensures she fully recovers, then that's the right move for all parties. In the meantime, the Fever will have to find ways to win games without their point guard, which has proved to be a challenge this season. They're 4-7 without Clark this season, including the Commissioner's Cup final, and they're 9-5 with her playing. Indiana (12-12) continues their season on Thursday when they host the Las Vegas Aces (12-11). Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on Amazon Prime Video. 8 children suffered seizure-like symptoms at youth choir concert

(NewsNation) — Massachusetts officials took eight children to hospitals after displaying seizure-like symptoms during a youth choir performance at a church near Harvard University on Tuesday. The symptoms weren't life-threatening for the 'pre-teen' and 'early teen youths' impacted, and dozens of other attendees were not affected, according to the fire department for the city of Cambridge, Mass. The cause is still unknown, but officials said initial air testing found that 'no hazardous conditions were present' at St. Paul's Parish in Harvard Square. Man indicted for allegedly planting homemade IEDs in Manhattan Nearly 80 people gathered at the church Tuesday for a free performance by French youth choir, the Chœur d'Enfants d'Île-de-France. St. Paul announced the event days prior in a Facebook post: 'Founded in 1970, the youth choir has travelled extensively and performed with some of the world's top conductors and soloists. The concert will feature and exciting mix of sacred and secular repertoire, as well as popular French songs.' Local reporting indicated that the affected children were part of the choir, though officials have not confirmed that publicly. Seizure symptoms can include confusion, jerking movements of extremities, losing consciousness or sharp changes in emotions or thinking, according to the Mayo Clinic. They're caused by a disruption between nerve cells in the brain, which can be triggered by epilepsy, illness, injuries or other factors.

Experts warn of sleep quality issues with ‘hotel vibes' hack

Some people wake up and smell the coffee immediately — thanks to a quick fix they claim gives 'hotel vibes.' Yet some experts say it's grounds for concern. 'Does anyone or would anyone put a small coffee maker in their bedroom like Nespresso hotel vibes?' one woman asked in a recent post in a Facebook group for coffee lovers. She was apparently considering getting one of the single-serve espresso machines, sharing in the comments, 'I'm so lazy and our kitchen is so cold.' Several members of the group were on board. 'Great idea now that I'm retired,' one person commented. 'I will probably do this while I'm postpartum,' one expectant mother wrote. 'Make a cup of coffee and curl up in bed?' another woman replied. 'A thousand percent yes.' 3 Doctors are weighing in on a coffee trick inspired by hotels and vacations. Izabela Magier – 'I used to keep a small Keurig in my bedroom,' added another, referring to the single-serve coffee maker. 'It was set up like a hotel room with a fridge and microwave as well.' Reddit users shared similar feelings in a channel on espresso machines. One said having it in the bedroom gives 'that 5-star hotel room feel.' 'I make mine instantly once I get out of bed,' another person said. Another person confessed to brewing a shot of espresso before going to sleep. In a post on the blog Apartment Therapy, the writer spilled the beans on finally giving into her dream of having an espresso machine in her bedroom. She bought a miniature one that, at only 8 inches tall, wouldn't turn her 'bedroom into a coffee house,' she said. 'It's the epitome of a little luxury, particularly when I'm still in my pajamas and not yet immersed in the hustle of the day,' she added. 3 'I used to keep a small Keurig in my bedroom,' one person wrote in a Facebook group about keeping a coffeemaker in the bedroom, like a hotel room does. TheVisualsYouNeed – The hack also saves her a few minutes each morning and forces her to sip her coffee on the balcony attached to her bedroom. The drawbacks, she said, include needing to go to the kitchen to get milk or throw out the dirty pods. But experts say the real harm can be to people's internal circadian clocks and sleep quality. 'Maintaining a consistent transition ritual, such as walking to the kitchen for coffee, supports healthy circadian entrainment and behavioral patterning,' New York sleep scientist Daniel Gartenberg, Ph.D., founder of SleepSpace, told Fox News Digital. 3 According to sleep scientist Daniel Gartenberg, drinking coffee one to two hours after waking up is best due to its impact on adenosine, the neuromodulator that helps regulate the urge to sleep. Syda Productions – He said he recommends drinking coffee one to two hours after waking up because of the impact it has on adenosine, a neuromodulator that helps regulate the urge to sleep, and cortisol, a hormone involved in wakefulness and stress. Wendy Troxel, Ph.D., a Utah-based senior scientist at the RAND Corporation, said that while she understands the convenience and feeling of 'luxury' behind having a coffee maker in the bedroom, it could also encourage more frequent caffeine consumption – which can negatively impact sleep quality. 'The bedroom is ideally a space reserved for rest,' Troxel told Fox News Digital. 'Introducing stimulating activities like brewing or drinking coffee can blur the boundaries between sleep and wakefulness, leading to an increased risk of sleep disruptions,' said Troxel, author of the book 'Sharing the Covers: Every Couple's Guide to Better Sleep.' 'Even just the lingering aroma of coffee could signal alertness.' She recommends investing in comfy sheets, plush bedding or even a hotel-brand mattress to replicate a luxury overnight experience.
