DAHRAN — Royal Saudi Air Force Commander Prince Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz presided over the concluding events of the "Ramah Al-Nasr 2025" exercise at the Air Warfare Center on Thursday.Multiple branches of the Saudi armed forces, along with the Ministry of the National Guard, the Presidency of State Security, and the National Cybersecurity Authority, took part alongside military forces from 15 allied and friendly nations.The large-scale exercise aimed to strengthen operational coordination among participating forces, advancing tactical integration across air, land, and maritime domains.The final day showcased high-level operational readiness, precise planning, and the execution of advanced air combat and naval defense strategies, demonstrating the professionalism and capability of Saudi forces in addressing evolving security challenges.As part of the event, Prince Turki bin Bandar inaugurated the first expansion phase of the Air Warfare Center, reinforcing Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing its military training and combat preparedness.He emphasized that the Air Warfare Center, originally inaugurated in 2019 by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, was envisioned to become one of the world's leading military training institutions.He noted that eight countries participated in this year's exercise, implementing cutting-edge aerial tactics and professional training drills, while seven additional nations joined as observers, with plans to participate in future iterations of the exercise.The commander highlighted the growing international interest in the drill as an indication of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to advance its air force capabilities through extensive training at all levels.Additionally, this year's exercise introduced a new dimension of cyber warfare, underscoring the Royal Saudi Air Force's commitment to expanding its strategic and technological capabilities.

Saudi Arabia publishes new law allowing foreigners to own property
By Anas Alyusuf RIYADH — Saudi Arabia has officially published the full details of its new law regulating real estate ownership by non-Saudis, following Cabinet approval earlier this month. The comprehensive law, released in the official gazette Umm Al-Qura on Friday, will take effect 180 days from publication and marks a major overhaul in the Kingdom's approach to foreign ownership of property. The new system grants non-Saudis — including individuals, companies, and non-profit entities — the right to own property or obtain other real rights over real estate within designated geographic zones to be determined by the Cabinet. These rights include usufruct (beneficial use), leaseholds, and other real estate interests, but will be subject to a range of controls and restrictions based on location, property type, and usage. The law preserves all real estate rights that were legally established for non-Saudis prior to the new regulation taking it clearly states that ownership remains prohibited in certain locations and regions, notably in Makkah and Madinah, except under conditions for individual Muslim owners.A key provision in the law requires the Council of Ministers — upon a proposal by the Real Estate General Authority and with the approval of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs — to define the allowable zones for foreign ownership and set upper limits on ownership percentages and durations for usufruct individuals legally residing in Saudi Arabia may own one residential property outside restricted areas for personal housing purposes. This does not apply to Makkah and regulation also includes provisions for corporate ownership. Chinese Embassy celebrates 98th anniversary of People's Liberation Army
RIYADH: The Chinese Embassy in Saudi Arabia hosted a reception on Thursday in Riyadh's Cultural Palace to mark the 98th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army. 'The Chinese and Saudi people have a friendship and connection of more than 2,000 years,' said Zhu Je, the armed defense attache at the embassy. He added that the two nations celebrated this week the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, which began on July 21, 1990. In his opening remarks, Zhu highlighted the growing relations between the two nations. 'China has become Saudi Arabia's largest trading partner; Saudi Arabia is China's largest trading partner in the Middle East,' he said. President Xi Jinping and Saudi Arabia's leaders have worked on developing a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership since 2022, Zhu said. 'In 2024, by instructions of the Saudi leaders, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman visited China, Sino-Saudi military relationship was upgraded to strategic level. 'Chief of general staff, His Excellency Gen. Fayyadh Al-Ruwaili, led series of delegations to China, achieving solid results in multiple cooperation fields,' he said. Zhu said the Chinese armed forces was created as a part of the country's struggle for national unification and independence. He said over the past 98 years, 'led by the Chinese Communist Party and supported by the people, it has won more than 200 significant battles and defeated more than 10 million enemies.' This had made a 'great contribution to the independence, safety and development of the country, having become a strong force to deter aggression and threats.' On the region, Zhu said China wants to play a constructive role in promoting peace and stability. 'China calls for (an) immediate and sustained ceasefire in Gaza, opposes the deportation of the Gaza people. 'China, together with Saudi Arabia advocate that the Palestinian issue should be resolved comprehensively, justly and lastingly on the basis of the two-state solution,' he said. There were several ambassadors and defense officials at the reception, including Chinese Ambassador Chang Hua, who hosted the event alongside Zhu. Zhu added: 'I would again express our sincere gratitude to the Saudi leaders and people, especially the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Interior, the National Guard and other security institutions.'
