Jurassic World: Rebirth has emerged as the franchise's highest opener, surpassing its previous instalment, Jurassic World Dominion, which grossed Rs 8.15 crore net.
Jurassic World: Rebirth, the Scarlett Johansson-starrer, was released in the theatres on July 4. The latest instalment of the iconic Jurassic Park franchise saw a grand opening in India on Friday. On its Day 1, the film outperformed several Bollywood films like Kajol's Maa and Anurag Basu's Metro…In Dino and even Hollywood star Brad Pitt's racing drama, F1. According to Sacnilk.com, the sci-fi thriller minted Rs 9 crore on its opening day across all languages.
The film made a solid start at the box office on its first day, despite having a clash with Metro..In Dino, which collected Rs 3.35 crore on Day 1.
With such big numbers, Jurassic World: Rebirth has emerged as the franchise's highest opener, surpassing its previous instalment, Jurassic World Dominion, which grossed Rs 8.15 crore net (excluding paid previews). The film, which was released in 2022, earned Rs 11 crore, including previews.
Looking at the positive reviews, the film's collection is expected to grow in the coming days in India. However, the film might face a significant challenge at the box office with James Gunn's highly anticipated Superman arriving in the theatres next week.
Directed by Gareth Edwards, the film also features celebs like Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Gracia-Rulfo and Ed Skrein in pivotal roles.
The film tells the narrative of a group of mercenaries and scientists who travel to a dinosaur-infested island to gather prehistoric DNA for a medical breakthrough. The film follows their mission to collect samples from three huge dinosaurs (a Mosasaurus, Titanosaurus, and Quetzalcoatlus) while simultaneously saving a stranded family. The journey turns into a fight for survival as they face rogue dinosaurs and negotiate the dangers of the island.
As for the global collection, Jurassic World: Rebirth was released in the US on July 2 and earned an impressive USD 30.5 million on its first day at the US box office, according to Box Office Mojo by IMDb Pro. It is the sixth biggest opening of 2025 so far, topping previous blockbuster releases such as F1, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and Sinners.

Rejected by Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, this film became blockbuster due to Amitabh Bachchan, earned Rs…, movie is… "You're Harivansh Rai Bachchan's son and you can't speak Urdu? Shame on you!" — a public insult that nearly derailed Kaalia, but instead became a turning point. By Shiwani Kumari Advertisement Kaalia (1981) wasn't just another hit in Amitabh Bachchan's legendary filmography — it was a defining moment that blended rage, rhythm, and raw intensity. His gritty look, fierce delivery, and now iconic dialogues helped cement his image as the 'angry young man' of Indian cinema. The film, directed by Tinnu Anand, went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of its time, earning over Rs 4 crore (then a massive figure). A voice that was almost silenced While audiences were cheering for his thunderous dialogue delivery, there was a moment during the shoot when everything nearly fell apart. The film's writer, Inder Raj Anand, who also happened to be director Tinnu Anand's father, humiliated Amitabh in front of nearly 200 people on set. Advertisement === As Tinnu once revealed in an interview, Inder Raj Anand lost his temper over Amitabh's difficulty with Urdu diction and snapped, 'Tum par laanat hai. Harivansh Rai Bachchan ke bete ho aur Urdu nahi bol pa rahe?' The line cut deep. Everyone thought Bachchan would walk out of the film. But he didn't. Instead, he doubled down on his craft and went on to deliver some of the most powerful lines in Hindi cinema. Advertisement === A script that almost went elsewhere What many don't know is that Kaalia wasn't originally written for Amitabh. The film was first offered to Dharmendra, who liked the script but had scheduling conflicts. Then it went to Vinod Khanna, who at the time had stepped away from the film industry temporarily. And so, fate handed the role to Big B — a decision that changed the course of the film and his screen persona. Alongside Amitabh, the film also starred Parveen Babi, Asha Parekh, and Amjad Khan, adding more firepower to the narrative. When failure turned to fury and fury turned to gold What could've been a walkout became a war cry. That public humiliation pushed Amitabh into a performance that roared on screen. His baritone, his presence, and his defiance turned Kaalia into a cultural phenomenon.

Because Of Being Characterless, Greedy...: Mohammed Shamis Estranged Wife Makes Big Accusations Against Indian Pacer; Check Details
India pacer Mohammed Shami's estranged wife, Hasin Jahan, has accused him of 'defaming her and hiring criminals' to defeat her amid the legal battle going on between the couple for years. Jahan didn't stop there and went on to call Shami 'characterless, greedy, and mean-minded' in an Instagram post on Friday. Her comments came after the Calcutta High Court ruling directing Shami to pay Rs 4 lakh per month to her and their daughter Aaira as part of a divorce case. The couple's four-year marriage ended in 2018 after Jahan, a former model, accused Shami of domestic violence. 'Till my last breath, we will have a strong relationship, Inshallah. The only thing left is for you to decide what kind of strong relationship that will be. For 7 years, we've been involved in a legal battle. What have you gained from it? Because of being characterless, greedy, and mean-minded, you ended up destroying your own family," Jahan wrote on Instagram. 'You took advantage of a male-dominated society and stayed happy while antisocial people called me wrong. Now I will take the help of the law, claim all our rights, and live happily, Inshallah. Now you think: which support is stronger — social or legal?... The day your bad time begins, these same people will make your life hell, Inshallah. Have faith in that," she added. On the other hand, Shami has maintained his silence on the matter and refrained from posting anything on his personal life on social media. The pacer was last seen in the Indian Premier League for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Shami bagged nine wickets in six games and was not picked for India's Test tour of England owing to fitness concerns. Shami, who was the star of the Indian team in the 2023 ODI World Cup, emerged as the top wicket-taker. He suffered an injury after that and had to undergo surgery, which kept him out of action for more than a year.
