Jack Endries was Mr. Do-it-all for the Cal Golden Bears in 2024, so he became a hot commodity when he hit the portal. He ultimately committed to Texas and is now poised to bring his complete skillset to the Longhorns and the SEC. Endries shined as a blocker and showed he has the strength and awareness to keep doing that as he goes from the ACC to the SEC. Where he will take his biggest leap as a prospect is as a receiver, where he has already showcased his ability to have contact balance, maintain momentum through it, and also have a burst after the catch to pick up extra yards. Look for him to be in contention for the top tight end spot when the NFL Draft rolls around next April.

Eagles First-Round Rookie Passes Major Off-Field Test
Eagles First-Round Rookie Passes Major Off-Field Test originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Philadelphia Eagles will not see first-round linebacker Jihaad Campbell on the field until training camp. The Alabama product is recovering from significant injuries to his shoulders and knees. Advertisement Despite the limited work he can do on the field, Campbell is doing everything he can to connect with his new teammates. Even if it means venturing out for a charity softball contest. Campbell was one of several Eagles players who attended DeVonta Smith's Celebrity Softball Game this weekend. For the rookie, it was a good chance to show his support for a new teammate and a former Alabama legend. "Came here to show my support for Smitty's contribution to the whole community," Campbell told the media. "It's definitely lit out there. Looked like a baseball game." Smith has been running the event for four seasons, and profits from it go to St. Luke's University Health Charities and Lehigh Valley IronPig Charities. Since arriving in Philly in 2021, he has been a staple in the community on and off the field. Advertisement The 26-year-old became the fifth player to win a National Championship, Heisman Trophy and Super Bowl. The last of those feats was accomplished in February when he became the first Alabama player in history to catch a touchdown pass in Philadelphia's 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Campbell has a long way to go before he can have the kind of impact Smith has over his career in Philly. However, a good way for a rookie like himself to stand out to veteran leaders like Smith is to show up whenever possible. Campbell did just that this weekend. And it should go a long way to helping out the rookie linebacker's immersion to the NFL world. No ‘Yips' Allowed as Jets Set Up No. 1 Position Battle at Camp
No 'Yips' Allowed as Jets Set Up No. 1 Position Battle at Camp originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Almost every position on the New York Jets offense is stabilized with a designated starter. One position group isn't so secure, though. Advertisement Jets head coach Aaron Glenn turned heads this offseason when he announced that third-year center Joe Tippmann would compete for the starting job with free agent acquisition Josh Myers. When New York first agreed to the deal with Myers, the former Green Bay Packer was initially expected to be an essential veteran backup for Tippmann and the guards on the starting line. His mere $3 million cap hit was seen as a defense of that notion. But things changed the moment Glenn made those comments. Now, Tippmann is in a position battle for his job. It's almost incredible to consider that based on his year in 2024. Advertisement Last season, Tippmann was ranked as one of the best centers in the league. Pro Football Focus graded him as the ninth-best player at his position and one of the better run blockers in the league. Meanwhile, Myers was average with the Packers in 2024 despite starting over 50 games during his four-year career. So what gives? Why are the Jets creating a position battle for a player who is not only young (Tippmann is just entering his third year as a former second-round pick) but also very solid as a starter? The answer goes back to the last training camp. During the dog days of camp in 2024, Tippmann struggled mightily with one of the basic functions of his job: Advertisement Snapping the football. During that stretch, Tippmann's snaps would go over the quarterback's head multiple times while former head coach Robert Saleh made it clear he was going through the "yips." This new regime, led by Glenn, clearly will not allow the "yips" to return this offseason. So, while Tippmann should be seen as the favorite to win the starting center job, the position battle is far from over. And it's one of the underrated storylines heading into training camp this year for New York.
