Bryan Mbeumo excited to follow in Ronaldo's footsteps at ‘biggest club' Man Utd
Mbeumo has signed a deal until 2030, with the option of a further season, at what he calls the 'club of my dreams' – one whose shirt he wore as a kid growing up in France.

'For me, it's the biggest club in the world, in England as well. I think the fans are crazy, the stadium is amazing, and I think every player wants to play here.
'I think my first top was a Manchester United top with Ronaldo behind. It's just such a big club and, yeah, I'm really happy to be here.'
Mbeumo says he idolised Ronaldo and Lionel Messi growing up, as well as admiring Neymar and Eden Hazard, and joins Matheus Cunha in bolstering what has been a blunt United attack.
The forward says the Brazil international will 'bring something new' to a team that he is excited to get to know better when they head to the United States for their pre-season tour on Tuesday.
'I think it's really important for me joining a new club,' Mbeumo said. 'It's important to create links as soon as possible, automatism as well with the team-mates, so in and out the pitch.
'The spirit is really important. Yeah, create a group, being involved as soon as possible, for me, it's something really important.'

Mbeumo links up with United after scoring 20 Premier League goals for Brentford under Thomas Frank, who has since moved on to Tottenham and is someone he sees similarly to new boss Ruben Amorim.
'I think they have similar values,' he said. 'He seems really close to his players and his mentality, his winning thinking every time. This is a thing that I need.
'It seems to be a really good group. I think the spirit is really important for winning and, yeah, with the gaffer I heard only good things about the team.'

I can't define myself only as a striker [who likes] to finish: I like to play, I like to be in the game, in the collective part of play [and] create also. So, I can do both – I can play alone and I like to play also with another striker and I think that's what makes me versatile, but you know now in this football you need to adapt." For the early part of last season Ekitike played in the Frankfurt attack with Omar Marmoush, who is now at Manchester City. It may be a case of the Frenchman either playing in tandem with Isak or being pushed out wide to allow the Swede to play centrally. Liverpool are due to bank £65m from the sale of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich, which leaves them light of a player in attack, and now an official approach is now expected. Newcastle have made it clear they want to keep their best players, but if Isak does push for the exit door it could force the owners into making a decision. If Liverpool's offer approaches the £150m valuation they have for the player then the Magpies may be tempted to sell up and reinvest as they draw up a list of targets. Eddie Howe has confirmed that Isak will not be joining Newcastle on their pre-season tour amid all the speculation. The Magpies boss said: "The club will make the right decision with all the information that it has, and ultimately to try and move the club forward in whatever way that is. Then it's up to us to make good decisions the other way and try and improve the squad as best we can. That's what we're trying to do, regardless of Alex's situation."

Luis Diaz accompanied his soon-to-be former Liverpool team-mates to Ekoin Temple in Japan on the second leg of their Asia tour, despite the Reds agreeing a £65.5million deal with Bayern Munich for his sale. The Colombian was omitted from the Premier League champion's pre-season clash against AC Milan on Saturday as his move to Bavaria drew closer. Diaz, who joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022, was reportedly given permission to undergo his medical by the Anfield club following the agreement with Bayern. However, on Monday morning UK time, he was pictured with the Liverpool squad as they stopped by the 1,000-year old Buddhist temple. It has since been revealed by Fabrizio Romano that the winger is due to arrive in Munich on Monday ahead of his medical the following day.
