Baldoni won't back down after judge tosses lawsuit against Blake Lively
Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman, speaking with TMZ Tuesday, slammed the 'Gossip Girl' star's 'false' victory lap and said he fully intends to forge ahead with an amended complaint by month's end.
'We march forward with the same confidence that we had when Ms. Lively and her cohorts initiated this battle and look forward to her forthcoming deposition, which I will be taking,' said Freedman.
In December, the 'Gossip Girl' star, 37, filed a civil rights complaint and lawsuit accusing her 'It Ends With Us' director and co-star, 41, of sexual harassment while filming the domestic violence drama. and spearheading a smear campaign against her after. Those claims went viral after The New York Times' exposé, 'We Can Bury Anyone.'
Baldoni filed a $250 million libel lawsuit against the publication and, in January, filed a $400 million suit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds and publicist Leslie Sloane for alleged defamation and civil extortion.
Liman on Monday tossed both of Baldoni's suits, adding that Baldoni has until June 23 to amend the claims for breach of implied covenant and tortious interference with contact.
'While the Court dismissed the defamation related claims, the Court has invited us to amend four out of the seven claims against Ms. Lively, which will showcase additional evidence and refined allegations,' said Freedman. 'This case is about false accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation and a nonexistent smear campaign, which Ms. Lively's own team conveniently describes as 'untraceable' because they cannot prove what never happened.'

Taylor Swift's Dad Scott Recovering After Undergoing Heart Surgery
NEED TO KNOW Taylor Swift's dad Scott is on the road to recovery after undergoing a heart procedure, PEOPLE confirms Scott had had quintuple bypass surgery just over a month ago The pop superstar, her brother Austin and their mom Andrea have all been by Scott's side throughout the surgery and recovery processTaylor Swift's dad Scott is recovering after undergoing a heart procedure. Scott Swift, 73, had quintuple bypass surgery just over a month ago and is well on the road to recovery, PEOPLE has confirmed. The news was first published by TMZ. The pop superstar, 35, has been by her dad's side, along with her brother Austin, 33, and their mom Andrea, 67, throughout the entire surgery and recovery process. The procedure occurred after Scott went in for a check-up and his doctor noticed something that led to the operation. The procedure was not the result of a heart attack. According to the Mayo Clinic, "Coronary artery bypass surgery creates a new path for blood to go around a blocked or partially blocked artery in the heart." "The surgery [often] involves taking a healthy blood vessel from the chest or leg area. The vessel is connected below the blocked heart artery. The new path improves blood flow to the heart muscle," the site adds. A representative for Swift did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment. In a 2019 essay for Elle titled '30 Things I Learned Before I Turned 30,' Taylor opened up about her parents' health and shared that "both of my parents have had cancer." "I've had to learn how to handle serious illness in my family ... It's taught me that there are real problems and then there's everything else," she wrote. The personal essay also saw Taylor share that her mom's cancer had returned, though she did not share any further details on her dad's health. Scott and Andrea Swift, who have been married for 37 years, have always been their daughter's biggest cheerleaders, nurturing her talent and passion from a young age. Long before she was a Grammy-winning singer, the "Fortnight" musician's parents were listening to her sing karaoke and driving her to local gigs close to where she was raised near Wyomissing, Penn. "She was always singing music when she was 3, 5, 6, 7, years old," Scott, told UDaily, the newspaper of his alma mater, the University of Delaware, back in 2009. "It's Taylor doing what she likes to do." Taylor's parents were seen at multiple Eras Tour shows before the record-shattering run of gigs came to a close in Vancouver, Canada, on Dec. 8, 2024. Scott made several headlines during his appearances, including when a clip of him handing out chicken tenders to fans at London's Wembley Stadium went viral in August 2024. "Scott handing out chicken during ['Style'] somehow makes sense," TikTok user Stephanie Niemiec of New York City wrote over the video at the time, referring to Taylor's hit single from 1989 and 1989 (Taylor's Version). Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. "Thank you for the chicken," she said to Scott in the clip before turning her phone around and adding, "The chicken is fresh." Niemiec, 22, tagged Taylor in her caption and wrote, 'Tell your dad I said thank you, it was just what I needed.' Read the original article on People

Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt expecting first child
Pete Davidson is going to be a dad. On Wednesday, editors at TMZ reported that the Saturday Night Live comedian and his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, were expecting their first child. A source told the outlet that Elsie is due to give birth in the winter. And a few hours later, the model-actress took to Instagram to confirm the news. "Welp now everyone knows we had sex," she wrote alongside a slideshow of photos of the couple. The 29-year-old also included a short clip showing her smiling during an ultrasound appointment as well as a close-up of a sonogram image. Pete, 31, and Elsie were first linked in March and reportedly moved in together two months later. And while The King of Staten Island actor has not yet commented on the baby news, an insider divulged to People that he is very excited to become a father. "They're both very nurturing people and are very, very happy together and to be starting a family," they shared with the publication. "They've been sharing privately with loved ones, and it's a really sweet time after everything Pete has overcome. He's so excited. He's always wanted to be a dad." Back in 2022, Pete also opened up about his desire to have a family one day. "My favourite thing ever, which I'm yet to achieve, is I wanna have a kid," he stated during an appearance on Kevin Hart's talk show, Hart to Heart. "It's super corny, but it would be so fun to dress up a little dude. I'm so excited for that chapter, so that's kind of what I'm just preparing for now, is trying to be like good as a dude and develop and get better, so when that happens, it's just easier."

Wordle hints today for #1,489: Clues and answer for Thursday, July 17
Hey, there! We hope you're having a tremendous week. If you need some help to keep your Wordle streak alive, you have come to the right place. Here's our daily Wordle guide with some hints and the answer for Thursday's puzzle (#1,489). It may be that you're a Wordle newcomer and you're not completely sure how to play the game. We're here to help with that too. What is Wordle? Wordle is a deceptively simple daily word game that first emerged in 2021. There is one five-letter word to deduce every day by process of elimination. The daily word is the same for everyone. Wordle blew up in popularity in late 2021 after creator Josh Wardle made it easy for players to share an emoji-based grid with their friends and followers that detailed how they fared each day. The game's success spurred dozens of clones across a swathe of categories and formats. The New York Times purchased Wordle in early 2022 for an undisclosed sum. The publication said that players collectively played Wordle 5.3 billion times in 2024. So, it's little surprise that Wordle is one of the best online games and puzzles you can play daily. How to play Wordle To start playing Wordle, you simply need to enter one five-letter word. The game will tell you how close you are to that day's secret word by highlighting letters that are in the correct position in green. Letters that appear in the word but aren't in the right spot will be highlighted in yellow. If you guess any letters that are not in the secret word, the game will gray those out on the virtual keyboard. However, you can still use those letters in subsequent guesses. You'll only have six guesses to find each day's word, though you still can use grayed-out letters to help narrow things down. It's also worth remembering that letters can appear in the secret word more than once. Wordle is free to play on the NYT's website and apps, as well as on Meta Quest headsets and Discord. The game refreshes at midnight local time. If you log into a New York Times account, you can track your stats, including the all-important win streak. How to play Wordle more than once a day If you have a NYT subscription that includes full access to the publication's games, you don't have to stop after a single round of Wordle. You'll have access to an archive of more than 1,400 previous Wordle games. So if you're a relative newcomer, you'll be able to go back and catch up on previous editions. In addition, paid NYT Games members have access to a tool called the Wordle Bot. This can tell you how well you performed at each day's game.
