Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois punch stats revealed – and they show massive gulf in class
Usyk, 38, needed nine rounds to beat Dubois when the pair first fought in 2023, but this second bout saw him get the job done within five thanks to a spectacular combination that brought the bout to an end.

Dubois certainly had his moments under the Wembley arch, but Usyk was always the dominant force against his Brit opponent.
And the punch stats from the high-profile battle show exactly that, with Usyk impressing with an efficient outing.
Across the five rounds of slugging, Dubois attempted 179 punches - some 26 more than Usyk.
But despite throwing his hands far more than Usyk, Dubois failed to land anywhere near the number of blows as the champ.
Of his 179 attempted hit, Dubois only made contact with Usyk 35 times.
While Usyk managed 57 landed punches from his 153 attempts.
That puts The Cat's success rate at an impressive 37.3 per cent, dwarfing Dubois' return of 19.6 per cent.
Usyk was so dominant that he landed more than 10 blows on Dubois for every round - barring his tally of nine in the third round.

Meanwhile Dubois only hit double figures in one of the five rounds.
As Dubois tired and felt the effect of Usyk's thunderous hits, the 27-year-old managed just 11 per cent success in the fifth round - hitting Usyk only twice.
And Usyk was utterly dominant in that final round, hitting Dubois an astounding 12 times with a success rate of over 70 per cent from his 17 throws.
Now Usyk will try and find a worthy competitor who can match his numbers for his next bout, having seemingly breezed his way through the best of Britain in the last few years.
Although he's more than happy to bruise up Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua again in a spectacular trilogy fight with either heavyweight.
Speaking in the ring after earning his undisputed title, Usyk said: "Maybe it's Tyson Fury.
"Maybe we have three choices, Derek Chisora and Anthony Joshua.
"Maybe Joseph Parker. Listen, I cannot now say because I want to go back home."

Usyk 10 Dubois 9
ROUND TWO
Dubois lunges in with a right hand, Usyk expertly takes half a step back and responds with a counter left.

Already Usyk is finding his rhythm, making Dubois miss and certainty making him pay.
Usyk 10 Dubois 9 (Usyk 20 Dubois 18)
ROUND THREE
Usyk staggers back after a right hand from Dubois - maybe more off balance than hurt.

Huge left hook lands on the button from Usyk, sweat sprays off Dubois face.
Usyk 10 Dubois 9 (Usyk 30 Dubois 27)
ROUND FOUR
Right uppercut lands on Usyk's belt-line in a genuine case of dejavu from low-blow gate in their first fight.
Dubois traps Usyk in the corner, lands a right but the Ukrainian legend slips off before any troubling damage can be done.
Left hand lands for Usyk but Dubois grabs on and closes the distance, smart defence to cap off his best round so far.
Usyk 9 Dubois 10 (Usyk 39 Dubois 37)
ROUND FIVE
Right hook followed by a left hand lands for Usyk has Dubois teetering backwards.
Dubois comes forward, charging at Usyk and the two trade off in the corner but DOWN GOES DUBOIS after a counter right hook.
He makes it to his feet but is dropped with another left hook and the fight is over! Dubois fails to beat the count and Usyk is once again undisputed heavyweight world champion.

Belgian Grand Prix delayed due to rain
The start of Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix has been delayed due to heavy rain. The drivers completed a formation lap behind the safety car at Spa-Francorchamps before the red flag was waved. An FIA spokesperson said: 'Most drivers have reported poor visibility during the formation lap, hence the red flag.' Pole-sitter Lando Norris was asked to report on the conditions. He said: 'They are not ideal. I can't see a lot behind the safety car so I can't imagine what it is like for everyone else.' The FIA has issued no update as to when the 13th round of the season will get under way. The 2021 race in here in Belgium was abandoned after two laps behind the safety car – the shortest race in Formula One history. Four-time world champion Max Verstappen took aim at the decision to suspend the start of the race. 'That's a bit silly,' said Verstappen on the radio. 'We should just run, like chillax. Jesus. 'They're way too cautious. And now the rain is coming, the heavy rain. It's going to be a three-hour delay.' Championship leader Oscar Piastri was warned of a lengthy delay. 'In about 10 minutes, they expect rain to be heavy, as it was in the last batch,' said Piastri's race engineer, Tom Stallard. 'Then a 30 to 40 minute delay while we wait for that. (McLaren sporting director) Randy (Singh) and the FIA expect we will have to wait for that 30 to 40 minutes before we get going.'

Max Verstappen criticises ‘silly' Belgian GP suspension as heavy rain hits Spa
Max Verstappen was critical of the FIA 's decision to suspend the start of the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday amid wet weather at Spa-Francorchamps. The race, due to start at 3pm local time, started with the formation lap behind the safety car. Yet with the majority of drivers reporting poor visibility due to spray from the car in front, the FIA decided to suspend the start and the cars returned to the pit-lane. However, with a heavier downpour arriving at 3:20pm local time, Verstappen – who is a master in wet conditions – was not impressed with the race director's decision. 'That's a bit silly, we should just run a few laps,' Verstappen, who starts fourth on the grid, said over team radio. 'Now the rain is coming, it'll be a three-hour delay.' Pole-sitter Lando Norris was among the drivers who insisted the visibility was poor on the formation lap. Speaking to Sky Sports F1, Nico Rosberg said: 'The conditions out there are horrendous, the race start will be horrendous. 'The visibility is bad, you can't see anything – it's just a white wall.' The Belgian GP was suspended four years ago due to heavy rain, with just two laps taking place behind the safety car. However, after a change in the regulations, at least two proper racing laps must take place on Sunday for points to be awarded.

Watch: Jos Verstappen grilled over Christian Horner exit by Nico Rosberg
Jos Verstappen has broken his public silence on Christian Horner's Red Bull exit after being grilled by former world champion Nico Rosberg ahead of the Belgium Grand Prix. Verstappen Snr, father of four-time world champion Max Verstappen, was somewhat ambushed by the Sky Sports duo of Martin Brundle and Rosberg during the famous gridwalk. Initially moving to speak with former McLaren and Renault driver Heikki Kovalainen, Brundle and Rosberg quickly spotted the looming figure of Verstappen standing alongside him. After briefly greeting Kovalainen, Brundle immediately turned his attention to Verstappen to address the elephant in the Red Bull garage following Horner's sudden exit two weeks ago. 'All change in the team?' asked Brundle, to which Verstappen looked surprised to hear. Verstappen responded: 'Well they decided to change so I'm fine with everything. Normal work.' Verstappen had been Horner's biggest critic after speaking out on several occasions, following the sexting scandal that emerged last year. Horner fell out badly with the father of his star driver and also with Helmut Marko, the Austrian motorsport adviser and confidant of late Red Bull co-owner and founder Dietrich Mateschitz. In the immediate aftermath of the scandal, Verstappen publicly called for Horner to go, saying that the team could 'not go on the way it was', and adding that it would 'explode' such was the tension. Perhaps with this in mind, Rosberg immediately jumped in to press Verstappen further. 'Last year you said Horner needs to go because he's going to destroy the team?' the 2016 F1 world champion asked. Verstappen bristled in response: 'Yeah but that was one-and-a-half years ago. It's different. I have nothing to say so it's fine.' 'You're quiet now?' responded Rosberg, before smirking to the camera as Verstappen replied 'I'm always quiet'. Jos Verstappen on Christian Horner's Red Bull exit 🗣️ — Sky Sports F1 (@SkySportsF1) July 27, 2025 It is the first time that Verstappen has publicly addressed Horner's exit since the senior Red Bull management intervened to remove the team principal from his roles after the British Grand Prix. Those figures, including Marko and Oliver Mintzlaff, the managing director of Red Bull GmbH, have refused to speak this weekend in Belgium beyond the former confirming that any suggestions the Verstappens were behind Horner's dismissal were 'complete nonsense'. Horner denied the accusations against him throughout the two investigations and his wife, the former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, stood by him. He was subsequently cleared by a second investigation last summer following an appeal from the complainant. But he and Verstappen Snr remained at loggerheads and the tension when the latter attended races was palpable. The two were seen having a heated conversation following Verstappen's fifth place at Silverstone earlier this month.
