Kate Beckinsale announces death of her actress mother
Loe, who was also an actress, had been suffering from cancer.
She was married to Kate's father, fellow actor and Porridge star Richard Beckinsale, until his death in 1979.
Her second husband, TV director Roy Battersby, died last year.
In a post on her Instagram account, Beckinsale said of her mother: 'She died the night of July 15th in my arms after immeasurable suffering.
'I am paralysed. Jude was the compass of my life, the love of my life, my dearest friend.
'The vastness and huge heart of this tiny woman has touched so many people who love her dearly.
'She has been brave in so many ways, forgiving sometimes too much, believing in the ultimate good in people and the world is so dim without her that it is nearly impossible to bear.'
Well-known names from the acting world left messages of support below Beckinsale's post, including Naomi Watts, Cara Delevingne and Jaime Winstone.

Waterbomb Festival is returning to Hong Kong this summer, and going to Macau for the first time
We've been itching to go to a music festival soon, and Waterbomb has finally answered our prayers, announcing confirmation of their Hong Kong dates this year. This festival originates from South Korea, and is well-known for being a water party with liberal use of water guns on top of a music festival, so be prepared to get soaked. Mark your calendars for October 4 and 5, as Waterbomb will be taking over the Central Harbourfront. The 2025 lineup has yet to be confirmed, but last year saw major Korean artists like Rain, Jay Park, Loco, Gray, Jessi, StayC, PH-1, and more perform on our stage, so this edition is bound to be pretty stellar as well. If you're planning on going, log onto their Instagram and comment who you'd like to see at the festival in their artist wishlist post – and hopefully with enough fan support, you'll get to see your favourite musicians live in Hong Kong. This year also marks the first time ever that the Waterbomb Festival is going to Macau. The precise venue hasn't been confirmed yet, but the dates are coming up soon next month, on August 9 to 10. Ticket information for both events will be released soon, so check this space. We're keeping our fingers crossed that this year the festival's queues will be managed better – and also praying that we won't be hit by a typhoon during the event again!

'Influencer' who garnered more than 165,000 followers while 'enjoying Wimbledon' is revealed as an AI creation
She has 165,000 followers on Instagram and recently posted images showing her enjoying the tennis at Wimbledon. But the 'model' whose social media persona became an internet sensation at the championships was actually created by AI. The posts on Mia Zelu's Instagram page were so carefully curated that they hoodwinked more than 40,000 people into liking her pictures and leaving comments in the belief that she was real and at the tournament. With images of her on Centre Court or enjoying a Pimm's, even Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant was taken in. The 27-year-old was at Wimbledon but discovered the account he had liked was a fake one and quickly deleted all of his interactions with it. The online comments by Zelu, who embodied the quintessential Wimbledon look of summery dresses and golden tan, reflect the language used by actual Instagram influencers. In one she asks her followers: 'Which Wimbledon match was your fave?' Despite not actually being at the tournament, Zelu also remarked: 'Still not over the event... but the party's a whole other game.' Her creators, who remain anonymous, explain in a profile that she is an 'AI storyteller', adding she has a sister called 'Ana' with 266,000 followers on her account. Despite the clear indication that the account is not that of a real person, Zelu's followers still send her messages – including proposals of marriage.
