Meet Black-ish star Anthony Anderson's actor-musician son, Nathan: from his role in Netflix's Richie Rich to his rap career and working with his dad, who is hoping for another collaboration in future

Black-ish star Anthony Anderson is one of the many celebrities who are giving back to the community in the wake of the
California wildfires . In a recent appearance on
Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actor spoke about volunteering with World Central Kitchen, through which he served 300 meals to those in need.
The Compton native also shared that he was in Las Vegas when the fire broke out. So, he enlisted the help of his son, 24-year-old Nathan, whom he shares with ex-wife Alvina Stewart, and best friend Skinny Boy, to secure the important stuff from his Encino Hills home. He put his pal in charge of grabbing the passports, important papers and jewellery from the safe, which, he added, his son didn't know the combination to. Anderson Jr just needed to get his father's diabetes medication out of there. The next day, the Emmy-nominated actor was back home watching, and filming, the fire rage on from his balcony 'like a movie director on cocaine'.

You may recognise Nathan from TV shows like All About the Washingtons and Act Your Age. He also appeared in an episode of Black-ish, where he played cousin Dante. His father revealed on the
Rachael Ray Show that he originally intended for him to play Andre Jr but his 'cool factor' did not match the 'nerdy' character. Although he was upset about not being cast in his dad's show, recalled Anthony, Nathan went on to work with Netflix on Richie Rich.
He makes music

In addition to working as an actor, Nathan is also a talented musician. He often uses Instagram to share his music with fans, most of which is rap. In a new track released earlier this year, which, he revealed, is inspired by a conversation he had with his father, Anderson raps, 'I'm my father's son, it's probably why I'm always acting up,' and promises that he'll 'make a real song eventually … but not yet'.

Edward Cheang's top pick: Pacific Rim

Do you have a book, movie or show recommendation? Send us your top picks using this form . I recommend the film Pacific Rim. It is exciting and full of adventure. Watch this movie and discover a battle between kaiju (giant monsters) and robots. Released in 2013, Pacific Rim is a film about kaiju coming to Earth. You will witness man-made robots, as big as the kaiju, fighting using different weapons to defend Earth. I highly recommend this movie to people who enjoy watching fights, action and monsters because it keeps the viewer hooked. Pacific Rim has a sequel called Pacific Rim: Uprising. This second movie also has a wonderful storyline. The film franchise also has an animated television series which creates a richer and deeper story for fans. My favourite robot fighter – which are called Jaegers in the film – is Striker Eureka. This Jaeger is powerful and has a lot of weapons that can be used to kill a kaiju. Striker Eureka also has six barrels that store anti-kaiju missiles. It also has two blades on each hand. The robot is very fast and strong. Even if you watch it today, Pacific Rim remains a great film. You can watch it in Hong Kong on Netflix and HBO Max.

When James Gunn's new Superman hit theatres, all eyes were on supporting character Lois Lane, the investigative reporter played by Rachel Brosnahan. Brosnahan made waves on the film's press tour by fully embracing the style of her comic book character, turning heads with a series of looks that combine classic journalistic business wear with fresh, modern twists. She wore a sleeveless caramel-brown plaid waistcoat with wide-legged trousers in the same colour, creating an effortless, uncluttered silhouette. Completing the outfit, Brosnahan carried a large, structured brown leather Coach Kisslock Frame handbag adorned with plush and carrot-shaped charms. She also wore white pointed-toe shoes that provided a sharp contrast to the earthy tones of her suit.
