Zimbabwe's Raza arrives in the nick of time to lead Lahore to PSL title
Just 24 hours after Zimbabwe fell to an innings defeat in England, Raza arrived at Gaddafi Stadium 10 minutes before the toss and hit the winning runs as Lahore chased down the 202 they needed for a six-wicket win over Quetta Gladiators.
"Bowled 25 overs the day before yesterday, batted for 20-odd overs yesterday, I had dinner in Birmingham, breakfast in Dubai, and drove to Abu Dhabi for lunch," Raza said.
"Took a flight and had a dinner in Pakistan. This is the life of a professional cricketer. I'm truly humbled and blessed to have the life."
The 39-year-old, who had scored a half-century against England on Saturday, joined Kusal Perera in an unbeaten 59-run partnership in the last 20 balls to complete the highest successful chase in a PSL final.
With Lahore needing eight off the final three balls, Raza smacked a six before sealing victory with a four to guide his team to victory with one ball to spare.
He also picked up the wicket of Rilee Rossouw in Quetta's innings of 201.

England were facing another big chase to win their series deciding fifth Test against India, with a fine century from Yashasvi Jaiswal and some poor catching making life hard for the hosts. He was gamely assisted by nightwatcher Akash Deep in the first session, with the latter crashing his way to a career-best 66 to set the tone for a difficult day in the field. Deep, sent in on Friday evening to shield captain Shubman Gill, scored the majority share in a demoralising stand of 107 with the unflappable Jaiswal. The tourists were just 52 ahead and two down overnight but England were insipid in the opening session. Just as it did on day two, England's catching was faulty with Crawley fumbling. That was as close as they came to parting the duo as they lost control in a dispiriting hour of play that saw India add 52 runs to the total. England produced a few false shots after drinks but to no avail, with at least three edges skimming into the same gap wide of third slip. Deep advanced to an unlikely fifty with three fours off the tiring Atkinson – showing off unexpected range with a square cut, an uppercut and a pull. Overton finally ended his fun with the lunch break moving into view, digging in a short ball that took the leading edge and popped to backward point. It was a handy delivery but, after 28 wicketless overs on a helpful pitch, the Surrey quick owed his side one. Gill survived an awkward spell before the break but fell to the first ball after lunch, lbw to Atkinson for 11 to conclude a prolific series with 754 runs at an average of 75.40. Liverpool WILL return with a British record bid for Alexander Isak - but only when Newcastle secure a replacement for their prolific striker as the Swede returns to Tyneside
Liverpool have not walked away from a deal for Alexander Isak and will submit a second offer should Newcastle make progress on signing the striker's replacement. The Premier League champions had a £110million formal bid rejected on Friday, with subsequent claims from Merseyside that they would not be returning to the table. However, Mail Sport understands that is not the case and, as Newcastle press ahead with deals for RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Brentford 's Yoane Wissa, they anticipate a much-improved approach from the Anfield club. Liverpool will know they are wasting their time making an offer whilst Newcastle are waiting for a response from Sesko as to his preferred destination, with Manchester United also interested. Newcastle made a £65.5m offer for the Slovenian on Saturday – totalling £70m in add-ons - but sources say Leipzig will likely wait until the 22-year-old has communicated his own wishes before negotiating with either club. Meanwhile, there is still confidence that Wissa's move from Brentford will go through once the London club find their own replacement. Should the dominoes start to fall, then Liverpool will return with a British record offer for Isak. They have been told it will take closer to £150m for Newcastle to do a deal, but the fact they are pursuing the likes of Sesko would suggest the hierarchy are contemplating the sale of Isak. England fight back but India lead grows
LONDON, Aug 2 (Reuters) - England picked up three key wickets in the afternoon session as India advanced to 304-6 under murky skies at tea on the third day of a fluctuating final test at The Oval on Saturday. India extended their lead to 281 runs and are still well placed to secure the victory they need to draw the series 2-2, but England fought back well after a disappointing morning. The hosts removed Shubman Gill with the first ball after lunch, the India captain trapped lbw by Gus Atkinson for 11 and failing to get the decision overturned on review. Karun Nair suffered a painful blow to his hand from the next delivery which spat up off the pitch, and suddenly England and the crowd were energised. India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, however, continued his patient knock and moved calmly to his sixth test century and second of the series. Harry Brook dropped Nair on 12 in the slips off Jamie Overton but the batsman had added only five more when he edged Atkinson to wicketkeeper Jamie Smith. Ben Duckett at leg slip spilled a very difficult chance to remove Jaiswal, England's sixth dropped catch in the innings, before the batter's long vigil ended on 118 when he slashed Josh Tongue to deep backward point and Overton held a good low catch. Ravindra Jadeja, so often the scourge of England with the bat in the series, survived a huge lbw appeal after getting the umpire's decision overturned and reached the interval on 26 not out with Dhruv Jurel on 25. India had dominated the morning as Jaiswal and nightwatchman Akash Deep shared a stubborn partnership of 107 against a toothless England attack missing the experience of Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes due to injury. Under the floodlights, Deep reached his first test fifty off 70 balls by hitting Atkinson for his ninth boundary before gleefully pumping his fists in celebration. Overton removed Deep for 66 with a ball that lifted sharply and looped up to cover, but the England team and majority of spectators at the ground looked as gloomy as the weather as the players trudged off at the interval.
