Phlur's best selling scents are less than £5 each in a new set

Daily Mirror19-05-2025
SpaceNK shoppers are raving over a 'fantastic' way to trial a range of perfumes before committing to a full £99 bottle
Phlur regularly sells their perfumes for £99 a pop, which for many of us is an investment that's best not to go into blindly. The brand has built up a cult following, but SpaceNK shoppers have found a way to try a huge range of their perfumes for less than £5 a bottle.
The 2024 Discovery Kit is £39 and contains eight scents from the brand, while they are small bottles it's a great way to discover if the perfume blends well with personal skin chemistry and so far this week 52 sets have sold to happy shoppers.
Discovery sets are an increasingly popular way to sample perfumes, especially for those who want to see how often they'll actually reach for a scent before taking the plunge - after all it might be better to buy a smaller bottle if it's more of an evening only scent to tuck away in handbags.
Penhaligon's £50 Ladies Fragrance Collection and Maison Margiela's £65 Replica Discovery Eau de Toilette Set have proven popular but they don't have as large a variety as Phlur's offering on SpaceNK.
The Plhur set has pulled in a number of rave reviews, one shopper said: "This kit is fantastic, the samples may seem small but the scents are so potent - this is absolutely worth the cost if you are looking to find your next favourite!
Phlur 2024 Discovery Kit
Product Description
"There is a great diversity, from feminine to masculine, woody to spicy, there is going to be something for everyone in this scent. My favourite is 'Somebody Wood' which, at first, I didn't rate at all as I thought it was a bit too masculine, however, throughout the day I found myself loving the faded musk that this left.
"I also received so many compliments, which was genuinely pleasantly surprising when compared to my first impression. If you want to treat yourself but don't want to commit to one particular scent just yet, try this."
A second shopper said: "I love, and I mean love, a discovery kit. It gives you the chance to sample a whole bunch of scents before committing to a full bottle. The trouble is that when the brand comes out with several bangers. I've since bought full bottles of both Father Figure and Missing Person, and there are a couple more from the set. Well worth the purchase."
A third person did, however, highlight the amount of perfume for the price. They said: "Very small sample sizes for the price, but worth it if you don't live near somewhere that you could smell them in an actual store."
A fourth added: "I find it difficult judging fragrances by reading the notes when shopping online so I will always look to buy smaller versions first. This is the best of both worlds, small way to try a number of fragrances before you commit to a full size."
Inside the set are:
Solar Power (Top notes are Blood Mandarin, Bergamot and Jasmine; middle notes are Neroli and Orange Blossom; base notes are Solar Notes, Sea Salt, Musk and Driftwood)
Lost Cause (Top notes are Green Leaves, Bergamot, Rhubarb and Fruits; middle notes are Freesia, Dew Drop, Lily-of-the-Valley and Jasmine; base notes are Ambergris and Vanilla Orchid)
Missing Person (Top notes are Musk, Bergamot and Jasmine; middle notes are Neroli, Cyclamen and Orange Blossom; base notes are White Musk, Australian Sandalwood and White Wood)
Not Your Baby (Top notes are Cardamom and Bergamot; middle notes are Mimosa and Violet; base notes are Vanilla, Tonka Bean and Sandalwood)
Apricot Privée (Top notes are Apricot, Plum and Cardamom; middle notes are Jasmine and Peony; base notes are Agarwood (Oud), Tonka Bean, Sandalwood and Labdanum)
Father Figure (Top notes are Fig, Water Lily and Cassis; middle notes are Iris, Orris Root and Jasmine; base notes are Musk, Sandalwood, Madagascar Vanilla and Patchouli Leaf)
Somebody Wood (Top notes are Bergamot and Lemon; middle notes are Saffron, Cyclamen and Jasmine; base notes are Sandalwood, Amber, Cedar, Vanilla, Musk and Moss)

The popular presenter skipped hosting his Radio 2 show on Saturday as he dashed to be by her side, with the star taking to social media to reveal the "antibiotics have worked" as she recovered from her illness. ‌ Thankfully, she was back home in time for her birthday this weekend and Rylan shared a carousel of sweet pictures taken with mum Linda as he captioned the post: "Happy Birthday to the best mum. So glad ur home for it. Love you." The first picture saw the two smiling lovingly at each other as they posed in front of a wall of flowers. ‌ ‌ He shared a gorgeous snap of her leaning on the kitchen island counter as well as a snap of them shopping at SpaceNK. The star posted snaps from their holidays and multiple outings, all of which had Linda showing off her pearly whites as she spent time with her son. Friends and fans rushed to the comment section to wish her a happy birthday, with Cat Deeley, Fearne Cotton, Rob Riner, Alexandra Burke and more posting messages to her. Her birthday celebrations come after Rylan revealed she was rushed to the hospital. ‌ Rylan, who appears with Linda on Celebrity Gogglebox, shared the news in a statement on the platform on Friday. He began by writing in the message: "Mummy Linda isn't well, sadly, so I won't be hosting the show tomorrow." Kayali's 'yummy' best selling vanilla scents are £12 each in Sephora set

Two 'yummy' vanilla fragrances are available at a bargain price in this deal Sephora shoppers are snapping up the brand's best selling vanilla scents for £12 each in a mini gift set. The 'yummy' perfumes still feature the iconic Kayali bottle design even in the miniature size, which makes them small enough to fit into any bag. Inside the set are two 5ml bottles of vanilla scents from the brand: the OG Vanilla 28 and the more recent addition Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar. The former blends together rich vanillas, warm brown sugar and velvety tonka while the latter is sweeter with candied pear, bubble gum and even violet. The set doesn't include a spray top, much like Penhaligon's £50 Ladies Fragrance Collection, which some shoppers find annoying. The perfumes are available in a 10ml size that does come with a spray top for £28 each. Charlotte Tilbury also has a giftset of three popular scents from her collection, currently reduced to £33.60, which includes spray tops. The set has pulled in an impressive 83 five-star reviews. One shopper said: "I have been a fan of Kayali since the first time I tried it, so it's no surprise that I loved these scents! The vanilla candy scent is one I haven't tried before but I got so many compliments, 10/10!" Another wrote: "Received this in my stocking for Christmas and let me tell you, it smell's incredible! I love sweet yummy scents and both of these do just that! I also love how adorable the little perfume bottles are, great packaging. Highly recommend these! Will definitely be buying the bigger bottles!" Some shoppers were annoyed that the bottles didn't come with a spray, forcing them to dab the perfume on instead. One wrote: "Loves these two, definitely will be getting a bigger size once these run out. I was a bit confused on how to use them because they don't have a spray part the clear top doesn't come off you have to pull the neck off to use it." Our very own perfume expert Jada Jones has tried both scents and said: " Vanilla 28 is a classic warm vanilla and something of an essential in any gourmand perfume collection. It is worth keeping in mind that the perfume is a dark brown colour which can show up on light clothing items so it's best to apply before getting dressed to avoid transfer.

I'm a beauty editor, and this is the one big mascara swap I recommend making for summer

Mascara is the ultimate staple in your make-up bag. A desert island product for many, and a daily must for most. And for those of us without luscious dark lashes, swiping through some black mascara before running out of the house is second nature. However, if you've been addicted to black mascara for as long as you can remember, then I have news for you. Because the most up-to-date way to wear it this summer is to swap black for a the chicer shade of brown - and it could make you look even better. Yes, it looks more subtle, but it can also make certain eye colours - particularly blue and green - pop more. It's mascara's version of quiet luxury; polished but understated. Which explains why more brands than ever are adding the shade to their bestselling mascaras. Read on to discover our tried-and-tested favourites. FOR HIGH OCTANE LENGTH: Hourglass Instant Extensions Espresso Mascara, £32, Space NK This is their cult tubing mascara – so cult one sells every 60 seconds. Tubing mascaras basically work by using polymers that set into flexible tubes that wrap round the diameter of each lash, like a tube coating. These rings extend the length by building beyond the tip of your natural lash, don't crumble like traditional mascaras, and can be removed without using make-up remover. Due to those clever polymer tubes, you can simply slide the mascara off using warm water. Deeply satisfying. £32 Shop FOR GREAT VALUE: L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Panorama Mascara in Brown, £12.99, Boots The increased length and volume this powerful tube can give is gob-smacking. The wand combs clumps out really well and it layers so you can turn the volume up to 11 with two coats. L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Panorama Mascara £12.99 Shop FOR A NATURAL EFFECT: Glossier Lash Slick Lift and Lengthening Mascara, £20, Space NK This is as subtle as it sounds – more weightless than your typical mascara thanks to tiny one- and two-millimetre long fibres that it sticks to your lashes. You apply it just like a normal mascara and brush through, plus it can also be removed with warm water. £20 Shop FOR DRAMATIC LIFT: Westman Atelier Eye Want You Mascara in Clean Le Brun, £42, Cult Beauty From the mind of Gucci Westman, a high profile celebrity make-up artist and previous Artistic Director at both Lancome and Revlon, this mascara is a real overachiever -which it should be for the price. It has a tapered tip to allow reaching tiny lashes in the corners of your eyes, a creamy formula filled with carnauba and she butter to avoid flaking and help condition, and is highly pigmented for a rich payoff. Plus it has no nasties like silicones, parabens, phthalates, fragrance or talc. Westman Atelier Eye Want You Mascara £42 Shop FOR EXTREME DEFINITION: Sculpted by Aimee My Mascara in Brown, £18, The wand on this is ever so slightly curved for the perfect amount of curl without having to use eyelash curlers. The back of the wand has a really effective comb on it to help define and seek out any lumps – no wonder one sells every second.
