Get Ready for Anything With $2,200 Off This Jackery Solar Generator During Lingering July 4th Sales

CNETa day ago
It might not be the most exciting thing that you will buy during this year's remaining Fourth of July sales, but a power station can be a real lifesaver when the power goes out. It can be just as useful when you're camping or tailgating, but the most capable models can cost a pretty penny. Thankfully, Amazon is offering a popular Jackery model at a huge discount. Order now and you'll save an incredible 50% off the Jackery Explorer 3000 Pro solar bundle. That discount drops the price to $1,999 at Amazon, down from $3,999. Make sure to enter the discount code JHNDJTRV to save an additional $200 off the listed price.
Thankfully, you don't need to be an Amazon Prime member to benefit from this deal. Just keep in mind that this price won't stick around forever.
This portable power hub has a plethora of features that make it an excellent help in many situations. For starters, it comes with two 200-watt solar panels that allow it to charge up while outside, giving it a substantial boost in battery life. It also has a huge number of outlets and USB ports and a sizable 3,024-Wh capacity.
Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money.
This model is the beefier version of the Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro that tops our list of the best solar generators. If you're going camping off-grid, it's a solid buy that can not only power up your essential tech items but also run things like a mini fridge or electric grill. While it doesn't charge as fast as the smaller model that made our best list and is around 20 pounds heavier, that bigger battery can keep things powered for longer, and its higher output makes it more versatile. The size and weight are also made a little easier to manage thanks to its extendable handle and wheels.
Not sure that you need the solar panels to go with your new power station? The Explorer 3000 Pro is also available on its own with a whopping $800 off.
Why this deal matters
Portable power stations and solar panels can cost an awful lot of money, but deals like this make them much easier to afford. We love the smaller sibling of this solar generator, too, and the more powerful 3000 Pro offers some solid upgrades in the capacity and output departments. The massive $2,200 savings is a great chance to nab it for less than usual -- not to mention it's down to a new all-time low price.

Here's Why We Think Gorman-Rupp (NYSE:GRC) Might Deserve Your Attention Today

Investors are often guided by the idea of discovering 'the next big thing', even if that means buying 'story stocks' without any revenue, let alone profit. But the reality is that when a company loses money each year, for long enough, its investors will usually take their share of those losses. Loss-making companies are always racing against time to reach financial sustainability, so investors in these companies may be taking on more risk than they should. So if this idea of high risk and high reward doesn't suit, you might be more interested in profitable, growing companies, like Gorman-Rupp (NYSE:GRC). Now this is not to say that the company presents the best investment opportunity around, but profitability is a key component to success in business. AI is about to change healthcare. These 20 stocks are working on everything from early diagnostics to drug discovery. The best part - they are all under $10bn in marketcap - there is still time to get in early. If a company can keep growing earnings per share (EPS) long enough, its share price should eventually follow. That makes EPS growth an attractive quality for any company. Over the last three years, Gorman-Rupp has grown EPS by 14% per year. That's a pretty good rate, if the company can sustain it. One way to double-check a company's growth is to look at how its revenue, and earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) margins are changing. Gorman-Rupp reported flat revenue and EBIT margins over the last year. While this doesn't ring alarm bells, it may not meet the expectations of growth-minded investors. So it is good to see that Gorman-Rupp insiders have a significant amount of capital invested in the stock. Notably, they have an enviable stake in the company, worth US$215m. Coming in at 21% of the business, that holding gives insiders a lot of influence, and plenty of reason to generate value for shareholders. Very encouraging. It means a lot to see insiders invested in the business, but shareholders may be wondering if remuneration policies are in their best interest. Our quick analysis into CEO remuneration would seem to indicate they are. The median total compensation for CEOs of companies similar in size to Gorman-Rupp, with market caps between US$400m and US$1.6b, is around US$3.7m. The Gorman-Rupp CEO received US$2.0m in compensation for the year ending December 2024. That seems pretty reasonable, especially given it's below the median for similar sized companies. CEO remuneration levels are not the most important metric for investors, but when the pay is modest, that does support enhanced alignment between the CEO and the ordinary shareholders. Generally, arguments can be made that reasonable pay levels attest to good decision-making. One important encouraging feature of Gorman-Rupp is that it is growing profits. The fact that EPS is growing is a genuine positive for Gorman-Rupp, but the pleasant picture gets better than that.
