When Ketel Marte left Arizona to play in the MLB All-Star Game on July 15, 2025, he didn't know what was happening back home. While he was in Atlanta playing for the National League, someone broke into his Scottsdale house.
The 31-year-old second baseman for the Arizona Diamondbacks said it was a difficult arrangement; they stole items valued at nearly $400,000. He also noted that he cannot do very much concerning it right now. He simply needs to ponder the future. The timing and scale of the defeat astonished the audience.
What happened at Ketel Marte's home in Scottsdale during All-Star Game
Ketel Marte was at Truist Park in Atlanta for the MLB All-Star Game on July 15, 2025; his home in Scottsdale, Arizona was robbed while he was gone. That night, police in Scottsdale verified a
"high-dollar residential burglary"
took place.
Ketel Marte told reporters on Sunday, July 21, that about $400,000 worth of jewelry and other items were taken.
'Not good,'
he said through a translator.
'You just gotta move on.'
After the break-in, he was placed on the restricted list so he could handle things at home. Manager Torey Lovullo said Ketel Marte needed space and time to deal with the shock.
Ketel Marte faced heckling earlier and joins list of robbed athletes
This is not the first tough moment Ketel Marte faced this year. In June, during a game against the Cubs in Chicago, a heckler said rude things about his late mother.
Ketel Marte was clearly hurt. And now, just a few weeks later, someone broke into his house. Sadly, this is becoming common for athletes.
Last year, NFL stars like Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce also had their homes robbed. Some groups use player schedules to find the right time to strike. Ketel Marte, however, is expected to return to the lineup on July 22 against the Astros.

Google ordered to pay ₹10 lakh to police officer. Here's why

A man captured naked in his yard by a Google Street View camera has been awarded compensation by a court after his naked behind was published over the internet for all to see. Google will have to pay a compensation of $12,500 ( ₹ 10 lakh) to the man, a police officer by profession, for the violation of his dignity. The incident occurred in 2017 in a small town of Argentina when a Google camera captured him in the buff, from behind in his own backyard. The man had sought payment from the internet giant for harm to his dignity, arguing he was behind a two-meter (6.6-foot) wall when his naked image was captured along with his house number and street name. The picture and the incident was later broadcasted on Argentine TV and shared widely on social media. He claimed that this public exposure led to ridicule at work and among his neighbors, causing harm to his dignity. Initially, another court dismissed the man's claim last year, ruling he was to be blamed for "walking around in inappropriate conditions in the garden of his home." Google also argued that the perimeter wall was not sufficiently enough. However, an appeals court overturned this decision, strongly asserting that the man's dignity had been 'flagrantly violated'. "This involves an image of a person that was not captured in a public space but within the confines of their home, behind a fence taller than the average-sized person. The invasion of privacy... is blatant," the court wrote. The judges said "there is no doubt that in this case there was an arbitrary intrusion into another's life." The appeals judge found no justification for Google to evade responsibility for this serious error that involved an intrusion into the plaintiff's house, within his private domain, undermining his dignity. "No one wants to appear exposed to the world as the day they were born." Crucially, the court pointed to Google's existing policy of blurring the faces and license plates of people and vehicles in Street View as evidence that the company was aware of its duty to avoid harm to individuals. In this particular case, the judges stated that "it was not his face that was visible but his entire naked body, an image that should also have been prevented." The court absolved co-accused telecoms company Cablevision SA and news site El Censor, ruling that their actions in spreading the image actually "helped highlight the misstep committed by Google."

This speculation began after a surprising meeting in France that included LeBron, his business partner Maverick Carter, and Misko Raznatovic, the agent for Denver Nuggets' star Nikola Jokic. With LeBron set to become a free agent in 2026 after exercising the option of the final year of his contract in 2025-26, which expires at the base of 52.6 million, the date of this assembly and the mention of 2026 has caused some fans and commentators to speculate that the player could be leaving Los Angeles. Reports are emerging that the Lakers' front office is turning its attention to a younger star, Luka Doncic, who was acquired in a significant trade in 2025. This change in direction might indicate a new phase for the Lakers—one that could conflict with LeBron's short-term objectives. In an ESPN interview, Rich Paul, who is LeBron's agent, discussed this tension — 'LeBron wants to compete for a championship. He knows the Lakers are building for the future. He understands that, but he values a realistic chance of winning it all' Also Read: 'It's one Steph Curry' — DeMar DeRozan says copying Golden State Warriors star is misleading for Hoopers For the Lakers, deciding to let LeBron leave in 2026 could be a smart strategy. By letting his contract expire, they would free up cap space to go after stars in a competitive 2026 free-agent class. Reports suggest that Giannis Antetokounmpo's future with the Milwaukee Bucks is unclear, and the Nuggets' president has hinted at the possibility of trading Jokic if salary cap challenges come up. These situations might encourage the Lakers to pursue Jokic, pairing him with Doncic to create a powerful duo. FAQs What did Misko Raznatovic post on Instagram?
