Glasgow has a new Scottie dog trail - here's all you need to know
At the end of the eight-week project, which was officially launched at the Trades Hall in Glasgow on Wednesday (June 18), the artworks will be auctioned off to raise money for Maggie's, who help families going through cancer treatment.

Hayley Smith, project manager for Scotties in the City at Maggie's, said: 'We hope this fun art trail, in partnership with Wild in Art, will play a key role in boosting the city's social, cultural and economic development and draw in visitors to experience the charm of our city.
'People travel far and wide to see art trails like this and many famous faces – such as Lorraine Kelly and Judy Murray - have bought sculptures from Wild in Art charity auctions in the past.'
At the launch, which showcased Glasgow artist Douglas Roulston's sculpture Lochie, the charity put a call out for artists and sponsors to get on board.
She added: 'Today's launch is a call out for businesses to get involved in sponsoring a giant Scottie sculpture, and a call out for artists to take part.'
An educational programme will run alongside the project. Sixty schools can also apply for their own small Scottie, complete with resources and lessons pack, which they can design and decorate.
The smaller sculptures will also form part of the art trail and be returned to the schools at the end.

Douglas said: 'I am honoured to introduce Lochie, the first big Scottie on the Glasgow trail for Maggie's.
'My artwork is inspired by the dramatic beauty of the Highlands and Islands. I have painted the beautiful landscape of Loch Lomond with Ben Lomond, the golf course, the loch itself and a few signature trees.
'Hidden on Lochie's chest is a heart shaped by the trees – a quiet reminder of strength, love and compassion which also sum up Maggie's and the great work they do in supporting families going through cancer.'
Charlie Langhorne, managing director of Wild in Art, added: 'We are thrilled to be working with our friends and partners at Maggies on our first standalone trail in Glasgow.
'We are confident that our Wild in Art Scottie dogs will bring joy to both residents and tourists as they discover the trail and explore the city, and raise awareness and vital funds to support the invaluable work that Maggie's does to help people with cancer and their families.'

Virgin River could be set for bombshell crossover as star of 'similar' drama drops hint
This similar drama is vying for Virgin River's top spot - could a crossover be on the cards soon? Virgin River might potentially merge with another beloved small-town romance series, according to claims from a prominent actress. Drawing inspiration from Robyn Carr's cherished bestselling novels, the Netflix sensation chronicles Mel Monroe (portrayed by Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse practitioner relocating to a rural community after experiencing heartbreak. Upon arrival, she encounters bar proprietor and ex-Marine Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), with instant chemistry developing between them. The captivating romance has recently concluded filming for its seventh series, anticipated to premiere on Netflix towards the end of this year or potentially in early 2026. Meanwhile, American audiences have been engrossed in the newest series of Sullivan's Crossing, which follows comparable themes and draws from another book collection by Carr, reports the Mirror US. Given this link, viewers have speculated whether these programmes might intersect, and it seems we now have clarity. Starring Morgan Kohan and Chad Michael Murray, this heartwarming romance unfolds in Nova Scotia, centring on Kohan's character Maggie, a neurosurgeon who reconnects with her father Harry, known as Sully (Scott Patterson), whilst developing feelings for former lawyer California 'Cal' Jones (Murray). In conversation with TechRadar, Kohan revealed she'd enthusiastically embrace the opportunity to collaborate with Mel, Jack and the entire Virgin River cast should circumstances permit. "That would be so fun, why not!" she declared when presented with the concept. Whilst the two towns are regrettably hundreds of miles apart, there's nothing preventing Virgin River and Timberlake from coexisting within the same fictional universe. Indeed, despite Sullivan's Crossing broadcasting on CTV in Canada and The CW in America, much like Virgin River it has also achieved tremendous success on Netflix as its streaming platform in the States. The shows also share producer Roma Roth, who serves as executive producer on Virgin River whilst being the creator and showrunner of Sullivan's. With backing for the Canadian drama gathering momentum as Mel and Jack's love story continues to captivate millions of viewers worldwide, might a special crossover episode be on the cards? from £15 Sky Get the deal here Product Description Regardless, Kohan has pledged numerous surprises heading our way in the freshly commissioned fourth series of Sullivan's Crossing, especially following the bombshell that Maggie remains wed to her ex-lover, Liam (Marcus Rosner). "I hope they can [stay together]," she remarked regarding her relationship with Cal. "They've built such a beautiful foundation, and clearly this is a bit of a bombshell. "I think it will take some trust to build them back up, and maybe a lot of explaining... but they are so good together." As the following for both programmes expands annually, might Netflix deliver a shock of their own by linking the Robyn Carr universe on television? Virgin River is available to stream on Netflix. Sullivan's Crossing airs on CTW and is on Netflix in the US.

EXCLUSIVE Graeme McDowell believes Scottie Scheffler is 'BORED of winning' after the two-time Masters champion's stunning outburst at The Open
Graeme McDowell believes Scottie Scheffler is 'bored of winning'. Scheffler stunned members of the media on Tuesday at Royal Portrush by delivering an emotional monologue where he explained that winning titles on the PGA Tour was 'not a fulfilling life.' It's been a rollercoaster 18 months for the 29-year-old, who won seven times on the PGA Tour in 2024, picked up his second Green Jacket, won the FedEx Cup and also became a new dad. But Scheffler, who has banked a whopping £65million on the PGA Tour since gaining his card, caused a stir, as he revealed he was 'wrestling' thoughts of why he wanted to win so badly. Reflecting on the world No 1's comments, McDowell explained that while he understood where the American was coming from, he added that he would love to be in the two-time Masters champion's shoes. 'I empathised on some levels, you know, but it just came across to me like he's a bit bored winning, like I'd love to be bored of winning,' McDowell told Mail Sport. 'I'd love to have a go at how he feels. Listen, he's a very philosophical guy and he's a very spiritual guy as well. So I guess some of it came over a little bit like, devaluing sport and kind of like: "What's it all about?".' McDowell returns to his hometown of Royal Portrush this week but will not be in the field, after the LIV Golf star failed to qualify for the event. Instead he'll be making his punditry debut as an analyst on Sky Sports Golf. The Northern Irishman described Scheffler as an 'interesting superstar' and praised the 16-time PGA Tour winner for being 'such a good role model'. 'I do empathise with his comments a little bit. It nearly comes across a bit wrong, because he nearly contradicts himself as well, when he says he loves it. 'He loves the practice, he loves the grind.' McDowell, who won the US Open back in 2010, opened up on just how gruelling trying to win on the professional tours can be. 'You do work your a** off, it does hurt, and it is hard to achieve things, and then you hold a trophy, and then you kind of sit back,' he said. 'I remember when I won the US Open, and being back here in the town about five days later, and it hit me. 'I started crying at about 3am after too many beverages. Because, you know, the emotions of it all is nearly like was just the emotional release and the adrenaline. 'And then one day you're sitting around going: "Jesus, that was a bit mad there".' 'But very interesting, he's an interesting guy. My main takeaway from it is he's an interesting superstar.' Graeme McDowell will feature on The Open exclusively live on Sky Sports as a golf analyst. Watch live coverage of The 153rd Open from Royal Portrush exclusively on Sky Sports and NOW from Thursday 17 July, with wall-to-wall preview coverage available from Monday 15 July on Sky
