
1 cyclist dead, two seriously injured in Granfondo collision in Penticton, B.C.
The collision occurred on White Lake Road near St. Andrew's Drive Saturday morning, the Penticton RCMP said in a statement.
'Tragically, one cyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene,' police said.
'Two additional cyclists sustained serious injuries and were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment.'
White Lake Road has been closed, and motorists are advised to avoid the area by taking alternate traffic routes.
The mass cycling event, one of North America's most notable, sees cyclists traverse B.C.'s Okanagan wine country via four routes that start and finish in Penticton.
