Map shows where Storm Floris will the hit the UK on Monday
You might want to tie down the garden furniture because a summer storm with strong winds is about to land in the UK. Storm Floris, the first rough weather front of the summer, has appeared in weather radars as it makes its way towards the British Isles. The Met Office named the storm, which is expected to hit on Monday with 85mph gusts, as it issued two yellow weather warnings. The worst of the weather is set to land in north of England, Scotland, north Wales and Northern Ireland next week, where buildings could be damaged and flying debris is a risk, the forecaster warned. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Read on for more details about where the summer storm will touchdown next week. Storm Floris will bring 'unseasonably strong and potentially disruptive winds' through Monday and into early Tuesday, the Met Office said. The yellow weather warning is in force from 6am on Monday, August 4, until 6am on Tuesday. Matthew Lehnert, a chief meteorologist at the Met Office, said: 'Across the warning area, many inland areas are likely to see gusts of 40-50mph, with 60-70mph more likely at higher elevations and around exposed coasts in Scotland. There is a small chance that some locations here could even record gusts of 85mph.' Winds of this scale mean venturing out at the height of the storm could be dangerous due to flying debris in some areas. People in the yellow weather warning area might want to prepare for power cuts and check in on vulnerable loved ones, as outages could have a knock-on effect on mobile phone coverage Some roads and bridges, especially those in exposed areas, might have to close as the storm sweeps. More Trending Road, rail, air and ferry journeys could also see longer journeys and cancellations. The UK has seen a long stretch of sunny weather in recent weeks. However, storms are not as uncommon in the summer as you might think – there was Storm Lilian in August last year, Antoni and Betty in August 2023, and storms Ellen and Francis in August 2020. Storm Floris is the sixth named storm of the 2024/25 season after the destruction from Storm Éowyn in January, when red warnings were issued and at least two people died. As well as a six-bedroom main house with bespoke interiors and period detailing, Brimpstead Estate also two guest cottages, which the estate agents, By Design say are perfect for "family or staff". The estate also features a "party barn" with a balcony and a garage big enough to fit six vehicles in. Set within nine acres of private grounds, with a breathtaking wildflower meadow and ancient bluebell woodland, the property is perfect for anyone looking to immerse themselves in nature. As much of the land still belongs to the Duchy of Cornwall, it is incredibly rare to be able to own a property in the heart of Dartmoor. The property's current owners have spent 30 years extensively renovating the property, combining the charming original features with luxurious modern additions. The main house features six bedrooms, five bathrooms and spans a whopping 5,984sq ft. As soon as you walk through the doors, you are greeted by a huge oak-panelled reception, that doubles as a library. To one side of the reception is a magnificent drawing room, perfect for entertaining, which opens out in a high-ceiling-ed dining room. To the other side, the turret room features deep set windows with window seats, perfect for watching the world go by. Inside Ireland's 'magical' Disney castle with fairytale tower on sale for €7.5MILLION and it's minutes from the beach The master bedroom has "exceptional views" across the moors, and the five-oven AGA in the kitchen is perfect for hosting guests for cosy meals. Other standout features in the house are the curved turret bedroom, the cosy fireplace in the gunroom and the large glass lantern in the breakfast room. By Design said: "Throughout, the house speaks of a love for materials, light, and proportion. "Every decision, every finish, and every feature has been chosen with care creating a home that is not just beautiful to look at, but deeply rewarding to live in." What are the pros and cons of using the Help to Buy scheme? THE current Help to Buy equity loan scheme sees the Government lend up to 20% - or 40% in London - of the value of your property. You only need to put down just a 5% deposit for an eligible home - which are new-build properties. So far, the scheme has helped 313,043 people get on the property ladder and dished out a whopping £18.9billion in loans. The scheme was launched in 2013 to help low income Brits buy homes much easier. Although the old Help to Buy scheme let you buy pricier properties anywhere in the UK worth up to £600,000, the new scheme has a lot of merits too. Here's the pros and cons you should consider when applying for a Help to Buy Equity loan: Pros You can become a homeowner much quicker: you only have to save up enough money for a 5% deposit, which is half of what you'd typically need to save normally. Cheaper mortgage rates: applying for a Help to Buy loan means you won't need to take out as big a mortgage as usual - and says that as your loan to value ratio will be lower, you'll be offered a more competitive interest rate. You can pay off your loan in chunks: You can essentially buy out the government's stake in your home by buying chunks as big as 10% of your home's value, adds. Cons You have to pay interest on your loan after five years: the amount of interest you have to pay back on your loan rises by 2%, at least, each year. You can only buy a new-build home: Only these homes are eligible to buy through the Help to Buy scheme. Higher prices: New-builds can often cost more than a traditional property, and the scheme has come under fire in recent times for helping to push up house prices, leaving lower income Brits priced out of the market. You could be left in negative equity: This is when you owe more money on your mortgage than the value of the property, which as well as leaving you out of pocket, can in turn can make it difficult to sell or remortgage. Experts have previuosly warned that you could be at risk of this if you use the Help to Buy scheme. The estate is situated in a private area of the Dartmoor National Park, with no public rights of way crossing the land. Gorgeous woodland paths lead right down to a trickling river, providing a perfect spot or picnics. The property's current owners said: "It has been our family's sanctuary. A place of laughter, music, and memory. "From evening gatherings in the panelled drawing room, to quiet mornings in the turret, to watching the sun set from the Shed's balcony Brimptsmead has been a place to live, to love, and to remember." 6 King Charles still has fishing rights on the property Credit: Jam Press/By Design 6 The house is up for sale for £4.5 million Credit: Jam Press/By Design

The ceremony took place in a structure built at the foot of Monte Moro. It began in the afternoon and went on until 'late at night,' the publication reported. It was followed by a celebration at the glamorous Hotel Cala di Volpe in the coastal area of Costa Smeralda - where rooms cost a whopping $3,924 a night - the following day. Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma also tied the knot in Sardinia last September too, in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their nearest and dearest. As for other stars visiting the island, Paris Hilton went on a luxurious yachting trip to Sardinia with her children in June. And last year, British actress Gemma Arterton was spotted enjoying a local beach. Now, Jennifer Lopez is confirmed to be jetting there this summer. The American singer and songwriter will be performing at Cala di Volpe's annual August Gala. The Gala Night is a highlight of the season, with Mariah Carey headlining last year, and Imagine Dragons the year before the. But that's not the starriest part of the hotel, located near Pontili e Gavitelli and Costa Smeralda. With spectacular beaches, crystal clear waters and a rich history, it's no wonder the Mediterranean island is attracting stars The property featured in the James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me, as Bond (Sir Roger Moore) and Soviet agent Triple-X Anya Amasova (Barbara Bach) were seen walking through the hotel The property featured in the James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me, as Bond (Sir Roger Moore) and Soviet agent Triple-X Anya Amasova (Barbara Bach) were seen walking through the hotel. In keeping with the glamorous island and its guests, Dolce & Gabbana partnered with DG Resort to transform Cala di Volpe this summer.
