Marc Marquez wins Argentina sprint ahead of brother Alex
Marc had clinched his second straight pole of the season with a lap record earlier on Saturday and the Spaniard led from start to finish, with Gresini's Alex finishing less than a second behind him.
The sprint podium was a repeat of the season-opening Grand Prix in Thailand as Marc Marquez moved up to 49 points and Alex is 11 points behind.
Johann Zarco had done well to put a Honda bike on the front row for the first time since 2023 but the Frenchman made a poor start from the and fell behind, eventually finishing fourth.

Fears Pep Guardiola's ‘imminent' divorce could hurt Man City as boss' relationship with wife continues to deteriorate

The Manchester City boss and wife Cristina Serra had hoped to keep their split friendly, but sources say there is now 'more urgency' as their relationship has deteriorated. And there are fears the troubles could overshadow the start of the new season. The Spaniard has already vowed to leave the Etihad after his contract runs out in 2027, saying he needs to 'focus on myself'. Insiders said his relationship with estranged wife Cristina has moved from 'friendly to cordial' amid 'complicated negotiations'. They expect details to be finalised in weeks and made official as early as next month. Respected Spanish journalists Laura Fa and Lorena Vazquez, who broke the story of their split, insisted there is no way back. Fa said: 'The signing of this divorce is going to be imminent. Evidently their relationship sentimentally has come to an end.' Vazquez said: 'The relationship has ceased to be friendly and has become cordial. We're not saying there's tension between them but the break-up has moved on to another level. 'There's perhaps more urgency to set a date for the end of this relationship.' Pep, 54, and Cristina, 52, have been together for 30 years and wed in 2014. Man City boss Pep Guardiola visits his new business venture Monarka Clinic Cristina, who runs her own fashion business, had failed to settle in Manchester and returned to Spain five years ago. Sources said they agreed to part in December just weeks after he penned a new contract. Cristina told friends it was the last straw. Pep refused to give up and when news of the split broke he was seen emerging from a team hotel still wearing his wedding ring. In March he flew to Barcelona for three days at the couple's £8.5million home. The estranged couple even hired the same lawyer in a bid to avoid a messy courtroom battle. Last month they joined kids Maria, 24, and Marius, 22, at the Oasis gig in Heaton Park. But there were no pictures of them together. Influencer Maria kept her mum's presence a closely-guarded secret by posting only photos of her and Pep at the concert. 5 Guardiola and his family recent attended an Oasis concert in Manchester, pictured with Richard Ashcroft Credit: x

Aug 1 (Reuters) - The NFL and Disney's (DIS.N), opens new tab ESPN have reached a deal, potentially worth billions, placing many of the league's media holdings with the sports network in exchange for equity in ESPN, the Athletic reported on Friday. ESPN is expected to have access to RedZone, NFL Network, seven more regular-season games and the NFL's fantasy football business, the report said, citing sources briefed on the agreement. There is also a possibility of integrating special features, including betting, and potentially more assets too. The four-year on-and-off discussions have led to what is said to be a complicated agreement, the Athletic report said. An official announcement is expected next week. Disney is set to report results on Wednesday. Both ESPN and the NFL declined to comment on the report when contacted by Reuters. The news of the deal comes as Disney is set to launch its new streaming service, named ESPN, this fall, providing access to ESPN networks, including professional and college football and basketball games. The new service will cost $29.99 per month and is part of the media company's effort to tap sports fans who have never subscribed to traditional television.

BREAKING: Aston Martin make Fernando Alonso replacement decision for Hungarian GP amid injury worry
Fernando Alonso is set to race at the Hungarian Grand Prix despite missing the first practice session of the weekend through injury. Complaining of back pain, the 44-year-old elected to sit out FP1 on Friday and was replaced by Aston Martin reserve driver Felipe Drugovich. "In the days following the Belgian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso has been managing a muscular injury in his back," the team confirmed. "As he continues with treatment this morning, he has chosen to sit out of FP1. Felipe Drugovich will drive in FP1 alongside Lance Stroll." Aston Martin also said that a final decision over whether or not Alonso would drive in Budapest would be made "in due course". But the feeling from within the team was that it was always likely that the Spaniard would be getting back behind the wheel. And that has now been confirmed. Having given his back some extra rest and not put it through the strain of the laps that he would have completed in that first hour of running, the two-time Formula 1 champion now feels fit enough to get back in the cockpit for the second practice session of the weekend. Chief trackside officer Mike Krack told reporters at the Hungaroring on Friday that there was never too much concern about their star driver's participation. "Fernando developed a small muscular problem after Spa. With the intensity of our calendar, there is never enough recovery time," he said. "Even for sleep sometimes, there is not enough recovery time because you have to travel. I think that is one of the issues. We elected to increase the recovery time and drop out FP1, which is normally the least important session. The plan is to have Fernando in the car from FP2 onwards." Being absent from FP1 only gave Alonso's back a few more hours of rest, having already had several days to recover since the Spa-Francorchamps race last Sunday. But time, Krack went on to say, was a less important factor than the number of laps the veteran would have completed in that first hour of running at the Hungaroring. He added: "I don't think it's the hours, it's probably the lower amount of laps rather than the hours. Yeah, the Grand Prix is long. If you think about the number of laps, it's going to be a long afternoon." And he confirmed that the team has made changes to that car to help Alonso be as comfortable as possible, explaining: "We have obviously made some modifications. He is fit in position. We have checked some stuff yesterday, how to make him more comfortable. We are quite confident." It means Drugovich's long wait for a chance to race in F1 goes on. The Brazilian won the 2022 Formula 2 title but has not had the chance to show what he can do in the top single-seater category, having spent the past two-and-a-half years as reserve at Aston Martin while also making sporadic appearances in other motorsport series such as endurance racing and Formula E.
