
Vivo Y400 Pro 5G launched in India with MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset: Price, specs and more
The Vivo Y400 Pro 5G is priced at ₹ 24,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model, while the higher-end variant with 256GB storage is available for ₹ 26,999. The device can be pre-ordered via the Vivo India website, and will go on sale from 27 June across Vivo's official site, Flipkart, Amazon, and select offline retail stores. Customers can choose from three striking colour variants — Freestyle White, Fest Gold, and Nebula Purple.
At the heart of the Y400 Pro 5G lies the 4nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It comes with up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage and runs on FuntouchOS 15, based on Android 15.
The device features a 6.77-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 3D curved design. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and peaks at a brightness level of 4,500 nits — making it suitable for high-clarity viewing in bright conditions. At just 7.49mm in thickness (Nebula Purple edition), Vivo claims this to be the slimmest smartphone in its category to offer a curved display.
For photography enthusiasts, the handset includes a dual rear camera setup, led by a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor with f/1.79 aperture, accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it houses a 32MP selfie camera with f/2.45 aperture. Both front and rear cameras support 4K video recording, offering users high-resolution capture capabilities.
The Y400 Pro is also packed with AI-powered imaging features such as AI Photo Enhance and AI Erase 2.0. On the productivity front, it brings tools like AI Note Assist, AI Transcript Assist, AI Screen Translation, and AI Superlink. Notably, it also supports Google's Circle to Search functionality, enabling intuitive information access with a simple gesture.
A 5,500mAh battery fuels the device, complemented by 90W wired fast charging, which promises minimal downtime between charges. Connectivity features include dual-SIM 5G support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, OTG, and a USB Type-C port. The phone also comes with an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.

In his address at an event held at the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, he emphasised that future conflicts would demand a blend of conventional strength and modern capabilities, where "boots must share space with bots." The army chief described Operation Sindoor as a "landmark, intelligence-driven response that redefined India's counter-terrorism doctrine." He said the tri-services action showcased India's ability to deliver "precise, punitive and coordinated action," compelling Pakistan to seek a ceasefire within 88 hours. Gen Dwivedi highlighted the transformative journey of the Indian Army, underlining the changing character of warfare marked by "grey zone conflicts, technological democratisation and need for integrated responses." On Operation Sindoor, he said the 88-hour operation was "unprecedented in scale, range, depth and strategic impact" and was executed across the 'DIME' spectrum. 'DIME' refers to diplomatic, informational, military and economic domains. According to a press statement, Gen Dwivedi on Monday inaugurated 'Agnishodh' -- a research cell at IIT-Madras to boost self-reliance in defence technology -- during his two-day visit to Chennai. In a landmark step towards 'Atmanirbharta' in defence technology, the Indian Army has joined hands with the IIT-Madras to establish 'Agnishodh', the Indian Army Research Cell (IARC) on the campus of the institution. The initiative is part of the army's broader transformation framework, guided by the 'Five Pillars of Transformation' articulated by the army chief. 'Agnishodh' specifically advances one of these pillars, modernisation and technology infusion, and represents the army's drive to integrate academic research with real-time applications, the ministry said. Addressing a gathering at IIT-Madras on the theme 'Operation Sindoor - A New Chapter in India's Fight Against Terrorism,' Gen Dwivedi described the operation as a landmark, intelligence-driven response that redefined India's counter-terrorism doctrine. Highlighting the evolving nature of warfare, the general officer underscored that "Indian armed forces are prepared for fifth-generation conflicts driven by non-contact warfare, strategic tempo, and psychological dominance." Emphasising the army's commitment to self-reliance, under 'Swadeshikaran Se Sashaktikaran', he outlined key collaborations under national technology missions such as 'INDIAai', 'Chip-to-Startup', and 'Project QuILA', with MCTE, Mhow (Military College of Telecommunication Engineering) as a strategic partner, the statement said. The army chief appreciated the projects undertaken by Indian Army Cells at IIT-Delhi, IIT-Kanpur, and IISc, Bengaluru by harnessing academic innovations. He said initiatives like 'Project SAMBHAV' and additive manufacturing partnerships with Army Base Workshops are setting new benchmarks. 'Agnishodh' would transform academic excellence into battlefield innovation, powering India's journey towards 'Viksit Bharat by 2047', the officer said. The 'Agnishodh' collaboration will further extend into the IIT-Madras Research Park, working alongside entities such as the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Development Centre (AMTDC) and Pravartak Technologies Foundation. Green hydrogen, quantum computing firms among new state-run ventures set up in July
New Delhi: A Hydrogen Valley Innovation Cluster in Kerala meant to supply green ammonia and hydrogen and Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre Ltd, a pet project of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, are among the seven public sector companies set up in July. The Union government, meanwhile, continued its drive to set up new power transmission companies in July as part of its capacity addition drive, according to the latest data available from the ministry of corporate affairs. During the month, 17,750 companies and over 7,300 limited liability partnerships (LLPs) were set up, data showed. Kerala HVIC Foundation, a government of Kerala enterprise incorporated in July, seeks to promote energy transition and decarbonization within the state. The project will cover the entire hydrogen value chain from production and storage to distribution and diverse end-use applications and research and development, according to information available from the Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology (ANERT), an autonomous institution attached to the state power department. The cluster will focus on the production and use of hydrogen in water and road transport. Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre Ltd, a state government company incorporated in July, has global tech majors as partners—IBM and Tata Consultancy Services. IBM had said in a statement on 2 May that the two companies were partnering with the state of Andhra Pradesh's Quantum Valley tech park being built in the capital city of Amaravati. In the initial phase of its implementation in FY15, over 64,000 companies were set up, but the number nearly tripled by FY24, when over 1,85,000 companies were set up. The make-up of the economy is shifting more towards services, with 72% of all new businesses incorporated every month being in the services sector. A large number of new companies are micro, small and medium enterprises, which form the backbone of the economy. At the end of July, India had over 1.9 million companies. By count, unincorporated enterprises, especially proprietorships which do not require registration under the Companies Act, vastly outnumber companies. Non-farm enterprises in the country, comprising proprietorships, partnerships and self-help groups, increased 12.84% to 73.4 million, according to an annual survey of enterprises other than companies for the period October 2023 to September 2024 conducted by the statistics ministry, Mint reported on 24 December last year.
