Anti-drug awareness programme held at Sultan-ul-Uloom jr college
During the programme, Y V S Sudheendra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Task Force/H-NEW, addressed the gathering. He enlightened the students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and provided guidance on how to avoid such influences within educational institutions.
The DCP explained how drug abuse can jeopardise students' bright futures and highlighted the legal consequences they may face. Additionally, the DCP advised students against falling prey to drugs and urged them to avoid friendships that encourage substance abuse.
Dr Anupama Koneru, In-Charge and Principal, along with the management of Sultan-ul-Uloom Junior College, Banjara Hills, appreciated the initiative of the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW). They stated that such programmes are crucial in empowering students to make informed decisions, understand the consequences of drug abuse, and build healthy lifestyles.

Siddique and Ali were arrested in Kadapa on June 30, while Raja was arrested in Vijayapura on July 10. ATS sleuths tracked them for more than three months, maintaining undercover surveillance where they lived. Siddique, once employed in the UAE, possessed 18 mobile phones, including old models dating back two decades. Since then, they've targeted homes in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Haryana. Investigators believe they had recently burgled houses in Noida sectors 12 and 20 and were preparing for another hit, having already identified six new targets. Between them, the trio has over 60 criminal cases. Sanjeev alone is facing charges in 32 cases, most of them registered in Delhi. Aman has 13 cases in Noida and Delhi, and Sarvpal has 28. Deputy commissioner of police buys flat from bank, another lender seizes it citing mortgage by previous owner in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: A deputy commissioner of police (DCP) has alleged that a bank sold him a mortgaged flat without disclosing a loan against it raised by its previous owner from another financial institution. The flat at Kaggalipura was sold to him by Jana Small Finance Bank two years ago, but Swarna Bharathi Sahakara Bank seized it, citing its mortgage status. DCP (City Armed Reserve-west) VC Gopala Reddy, said in his complaint to Central Crime Branch (CCB) police on July 7 that he purchased flat on the fourth floor of Sri Shankara Meadows through an e-auction by Jana Bank on July 24, 2023, by paying Rs 28 lakh. According to a senior police officer, Jana Bank executed the sale agreement but the property was yet to be registered. As encumbrance documents were not found during the verification, Reddy purchased the flat. Police said the case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 316 (criminal breach of trust) and 318 (cheating) against all four staff, Jana Bank and Swarna Bharati. Further details will be known only after the investigation, the officer added. Police said their investigation would reveal who committed the alleged fraud by not disclosing the facts.
