Player Summary
David Bailey was not used as much as I had hoped when watching the Stanford defense, which may be why he is transferring to Texas Tech. Bailey, when on the field, demonstrates explosive traits and an athletic ability that should have draft evaluators drooling if he tests well and goes to an All-Star game next January. He has good length that he uses to gain leverage and leave offensive tackles scrambling. He demonstrated this well against Clemson's Blake Miller, who has first-round potential as a prospect. Bailey impressed me with his quick hands, though, and his ability to get to the ball and force fumbles. He should see a lot of development come the end of the season if the Red Raiders use him more than Stanford did.

From June 18 through Wednesday, the Mets' rotation posted a 5.96 ERA that was the third-worst in MLB while tallying 54 ¹/₃ innings, the third-least. Peterson allowed a second run in the seventh, when Andruw Monasterio turned on a four-seamer that was not far enough inside for a home run. Associated Press TORONTO (AP) — New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge drew his 23rd intentional walk of the season in the eighth inning Thursday night against Toronto, matching Mickey Mantle's 1957 team record. Baseball began tracking intentional walks in 1955. Judge matched Albert Pujols (2010) as the only player to receive 23 free passes before the All-Star break. Toronto led 6-5 when former Yankee Chad Green intentionally walked Judge with two outs and the bases empty. Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff scheduled to return Sunday in Miami
Associated Press NEW YORK (AP) — Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff is scheduled to make his long-awaited return to the majors this weekend in Miami. The two-time All-Star planned to throw a bullpen Thursday at Citi Field before Milwaukee's game against the New York Mets. He is lined up to start Sunday against the Marlins in the finale of a three-game series. Woodruff hasn't pitched in the big leagues since undergoing shoulder surgery after the 2023 season. He is 46-26 with a 3.10 ERA in 115 career starts and 15 relief appearances. The 32-year-old right-hander left his first rehab stint this year with tendinitis in his right ankle. He was pitching for Triple-A Nashville again on June 3 when a 108 mph line drive struck him in the right elbow, leaving a bruise that delayed his return.
