Juan Vidal Spain Fall 2025 Collection

Vogue21-05-2025
Juan Vidal's latest collection, 'Me quiere, no me quiere' ('They Love Me, They Love Me Not'], draws inspiration from the tender act of plucking daisy petals as an ode to vulnerability and beauty. 'That innocent game is, at its core, a metaphor for the fear of making decisions,' the designer explained. 'It's a place where we leave fate to decide what the heart can't bear to face. That's where this collection begins—the desire to inhabit the question forever rather than rush toward the answer.' Embracing uncertainty as a source of creativity, Vidal reclaimed 'the uneasy in-between, from which many of the most beautiful ideas often emerge.' He added, 'It's a deeply emotional collection, where contradiction and doubt are not hidden, but instead they become the language. It's about fragility without fear, turning it into strength".
The resulting pieces convey a clash of contrasts: washed and satin silks, oversized trench coats, floral woodcuts from an antique print he found in Kyoto, and satin suits adorned with taffeta bows that evoke the traditional Japanese obi. The collection unfolded across 32 looks he showcased during the Barcelona 080 Fashion Week, where opposites converged harmoniously: straight and curved, rigid and fluid, matte and shiny, masculine and feminine. 'There was no moodboard to guide our way. The creative process was more impulsive, allowing randomness to take the lead,' Vidal explained.

Barcelona have received initial approval from Messi's camp over tribute match in 2026/27

Barcelona have received initial approval from Messi's camp over tribute match in 2026/27 FC Barcelona are planning a full-capacity grand opening of the new Spotify Camp Nou for the 2026/27 season, and they want to do it with the greatest player to ever play for the club – Lionel Messi. Indeed, the club aims to celebrate the stadium's full return with a long-awaited tribute match for the Argentine legend, reports Catalunya Radio. Advertisement Initial approval received Even though reports seemed to suggest that there had been no contact between Barcelona and Messi's entourage regarding the Camp Nou reopening, the aforementioned outlet insists otherwise. Talks with the Messi family have already taken place, and the Argentine's camp has given their initial approval in principle. While the details still need to be worked out, the intent is clear – to heal old wounds and honour the greatest player in the club's history at the perfect time and place. One last time. (Photo by) The roadmap Before that, Spotify Camp Nou is set to host its first match after two years on August 10, 2025, during the Joan Gamper Trophy. Advertisement However, attendance will be limited, with current projections allowing for between 28,000 and 35,000 fans. Later in the 2025/26 season, Barça plan to request approval to expand capacity to 60,000 for La Liga and UEFA Champions League matches. But the full inauguration, with the stadium completely finished and the roof installed, is being reserved for the following season. The Blaugrana want to make that moment historic by bringing Messi back for a proper farewell – a symbolic and emotional gesture to help close the chapter on his departure in 2021 after 18 years at the club.

The main moments of Paris Couture Week

Paris Haute Couture Week has wrapped up after four days of shows that featured the end of an era at Balenciaga, the start of a new one at Maison Margiela, and some surprise appearances and absences. AFP looks back on the key moments of the Autumn-Winter 2025-2026 season: - New eras - Demna bowed out at Balenciaga after a decade in charge with a show on Wednesday that drew the usual smattering of celebrities to the front rows but had some surprise models on the runway. Kim Kardashian channelled Elizabeth Taylor as she walked the room in a sultry slip dress, while veteran French actress Isabelle Huppert appeared in a turtleneck pulled up to her ears. Belgian Glenn Martens debuted at Maison Margiela the same day. Critics praised his bold first steps as a replacement for British design legend John Galliano, who stepped down in January. The New York Times called Martens' "Artisanal" collection, which included thrifted clothing, a "brilliant no-holds-barred debut" while Women's Wear Daily said it "tilted the Paris house in a dark, daring and DIY direction". - Armani's absence - One notably absentee was Giorgio Armani, 91, who had already cancelled his menswear show in Milan due to health reasons. He also missed the Paris Armani Prive show on doctors' orders. "In 20 years of Armani Prive, it's the first time I'm not in Paris," he said in a statement sent to AFP. "My doctors advised more rest, even though I felt ready." He added that he had "followed and overseen every aspect of the show remotely", stressing: "I approved and signed off on everything you will see." - Cardi B's couture - New York rapper Cardi B had a busy week in Paris and seemed intent on out-couturing many of the models. She appeared at the opening show of the week on Monday at Schiaparelli in a traf fic-stopping tasselled neckpiece and posed with a crow perched on her hand outside the Petit Palais exhibition space. The next day, she turned heads at Stephane Rolland, with a sculptural black headpiece that surrounded her like a religious shroud. On Wednesday she was front row at Balenciaga. - The rose trend - Floral patterns were everywhere, with the rose especially dominant. Giambattista Valli adorned airy gowns with oversized fabric roses, Elie Saab featured them on princess-style dresses, while Armani Prive used pearl-embroidered roses. Balenciaga incorporated rose sequin prints into a skirt suit and Robert Wun showcased black-and-white roses on a structured strapless crinoline dress. - Best of the rest - Syrian designer Rami Al Ali made history as the first couturier from his country to take part in the official Paris calendar, choking back tears at the end of his show of exquisitely tailored pieces. Dutch duo Viktor & Rolf delivered a typically playful and sculptural spectacle, while Hong Kong's Robert Wun burnished his reputation further with some striking looks inspired by cinema and theatre. mdv-adp/gil

TikTok Videos Capture Paparazzi Chasing Cardi B at PFW

Cardi B is currently in Paris for Fashion Week and the entire experience is best described as iconic. Like, here she is at Schiaparelli Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2025/2026 fashion show with a literal raven (a pretty clear shoutout to her album cover for Am I the Drama): Her comments? "No, I'm not scared of the bird. That's my friend. I control him. We're best friends." And here she is wearing a sculptural Rahul Mishra's gown surrounded by 3D crystal covered roses: Meanwhile, here she is being chased by paps and absolutely serving in the process: Cardi's legendary Fashion Week moments come several months after she announced a partnership with Revolve Group in a "multi-category venture" that includes fashion and beauty. Cardi spoke to WWD about what to expect, saying "I personally believe that I put a lot of people on a lot of trends. It's not even about getting paid, but it's not appreciated. I gotta do this for me because I don't get thank yous. If I don't have a good year, I don't get, 'How have you been?' Nobody does that. It's time for me to do s–t for my own self, not for everybody else." She added, "I could shop every single day, but there's always that one pair of jeans that I love. There's that tank top that I love, and I don't care how many stains are on it, I'm gonna wear it, because I just love it. I want my brand to have that one piece that you buy, that you love, that it makes sense. If it's a size small, it should be a true size small; if it's a size large, it should be a true size large. That is very important to me, because I don't think about me, now, I think about me when I was 20 years old. I'm walking in Fordham [Plaza]; it's six o'clock and I have a date at nine. 'What is gonna fit me?' I want something that fits me; it's great, and it's good quality. I could wash it and wash it and wash it, and it doesn't get washed out."
