Vijayawada: Preparations have begun for making the 72-foot-tall clay Ganesh idol under the auspices of Dundi Ganesh Seva Samiti for the upcoming Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrations in Vijayawada city.
Kesineni Venkat, son of Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath, along with cine actor Suman and Dundi Ganesh Seva Samiti founder and Aryavysya Development Corporation Chairman Dundi Rakesh, initiated the work by performing a groundbreaking ceremony and offering special prayers. The event was held at the Labour Colony grounds adjacent to the Vidyadharapuram bus depot in One Town, Vijayawada.
Speaking on the occasion, Kesineni Venkat said that it is a blessing for the people of Vijayawada, as the tallest clay Ganesh idol is being set up in the city in the Amaravati capital region. He emphasized the need to worship clay Ganesh idols to protect the environment.
Dundi Ganesh Seva Samiti founder Rakesh said that they have been celebrating Vinayaka Chaturthi in a grand manner by installing tall Ganesh idol for the past four years.

T'puram: The organizing committee of Ganeshotsavam 2025 announced that this year's celebrations will begin on Aug 24 and continue until Sept 15, marking a 23-day long cultural and religious festival in the city. The central venue for the celebration will be the historic Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple area in Fort, Thiruvananthapuram . The idol immersion will be held on the final day, September 15, at the Shankumugham beach. A major highlight this year will be the installation of 101 Ganesh idols in various parts of the city, including Fort, East Fort, Vanchiyoor, and Sreekanteswaram. The main idol will be placed near the Fort Ganesh Temple. The celebration will feature a variety of spiritual, cultural and social programmes. In addition to spiritual fervour, the event will include community service initiatives such as blood donation drives, free medical camps and food distribution. The celebration committee comprises eminent personalities including G Madhavan Nair (Isro), R Radhakrishnan (former CMD, HLL) and temple representatives. Various sub-committees have been formed for smooth execution, including committees for cultural affairs, logistics and publicity. The organizers urged devotees and the public to participate and maintain the sanctity and harmony of the celebrations. They also emphasized environmental responsibility during the idol immersion process.

Peddi: First song from Ram Charan's film to drop on this special day
The action drama Peddi, one of the most-awaited films in Tollywood, recently made headlines after its leading star Ram Charan's latest transformation was unveiled.
